Many have asked about a craft room tour. I actually shot a video of my old craft room in my old house. And the video will be here soon! I promise. I haven’t had time to share it as it is a big project. But soon…

I look forward to your annual Favorite Crafty Things video and have bookmarked a few as I slowly try to get organized. I agree that if you know where everything is and make them accessible, productivity and creativity are increased. I am very slow to get all my stuff organized, but you have inspired me to keep going.
I do like the mesh, zippered bags because they are useful to take on the go.

  2. Marty Harris says:

Thank you so much for this series, Jennifer, and thanks to all your visitors who have commented. Today, particularly, I have obtained many ideas. It has been several years now that I have been using storage pockets for stamp sets–this was probably the most valuable to me to learn. I need to better organize my inks, so that is my next project. One tip from me–I use spring tension curtain rods in bookcases for punches and in the stair frame (my crafting area is in the basement, tucked under the stairs) for ribbons.

  3. Julie Haedtke says:

I am so unorganized right now, I couldn’t even say what my favorite tool is. I am definitely going to use some of your ideas when my school where I work will be closed for a week, so my plan is to totally get organized.

  4. Karen Martens says:

Thanks for sharing your favorite things. What you use transfers to me in some cases. I have trouble organizing my stuff, but ideas are always welcome. I like the Avery Job Ticket holder idea. I can use that easily. I’ll check them out.

The tips and ideas from your My Favorite Things series has changed my art room into a “nearly” organized space. The product suggestions are my go-to source of inspiration to clean up and make more time for actual card making. The labeling system has been an especially useful tool in getting to the needed dies and stamps with minimal fuss and frustration.

  6. Phyllis Freese says:

I love your organization videos and they inspire me to work on organizing my room, too. Some of these tips have even spilled over into other areas of the house to make it easier to store and find things. I’m anxious to see your new craft room once you’ve moved in and I have loved watching the progress on it through your Instagram posts.
Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring me with each video you create.

  7. Melinda S. Diltz says:

I aspire to have a craft room as bright and organized as you some day. Right now I craft at the dining room table and have everything but my paper stored in the dining room, makes for a messy looking dining room. We hope to build a small addition to our house in the future and it will contain a craft area. After the first of the year my oldest son will be moving away to start his new job, his bedroom is going to be a guest room and a temporary craft room. I always get so many ideas from your videos I can’t really decide what is my favorite. I do believe a label maker would be very helpful, love the fridge bins too. Keep on inspiring us!

  8. Brenda says:

Organization is so important to me! Thanks for all the tips & another great give away. I enjoy your favorite crafty series every year.

  9. Linda Kenedy says:

Jennifer thank you for doing this series. It is one of my favorites as I love to try to stay organized. Love all of your recommendations on storage but one of my favorites is the stamp and die storage with the clear pockets and the inter design containers. This has been a life safer as I have a very tiny area to create. Thank you for all the inspiration and good luck with your new craft room and cannot wait to see it.

  10. Marilize Kruger says:

I picked up this tip somewhere in the crafting community and I’ve converted many a crafty friend. I take old cd jewelcases and store my clear stamps in them. I find them at secondhand store, charity stores and yard sales. I have bought the strangest music cd’s just to get my hands on the jewelcase – hahaha!
Thank you for your tips – I love seeing how other crafters roll and can’t wait to see your craftroom tour 🙂

  11. carriemcbeath10 says:

One of my favorite items that helps me keep my embellishments organized is my scraprack by Totally Tiffany. I was actually surprised at how much I liked it. It is nice to be able to have everything out of their packages and organized by color.

  12. Thank you so much for your great blog, absolutely love all your informative videos, tips and organizational systems, it’s a daily “must see” online visit for me. Kudo’s too for your blog creater, it’s just the bomb!

  13. Patchi says:

I use a mail sorter for my stickers, adhesive pearls, and other flat embellishments so it’s easy to sort through them. Thanks for the chance to win 🙂

  14. Kathryn A says:

Wow. I must not be very organized, as I don’t have any of your tools listed, except a label maker! My favourite organizational tool would have to be the clear stamp storage pockets, stored in FridgeBinz.

  15. Kathy M. says:

I must say my favorite product is the inter design divided container but I must say the plastic pocket sleeves to put my stamp sets in are important too. What I love is that these containers hold so much in a small amount of space and the size also can hold embossing folders and I have some die cuts in sleeves in these containers too. Good use of space and reasonable price for all they can do.

  16. Denise MacRae says:

Thank you for this wonderful series of videos. They have been extremely informative as I am a fairly new card maker. I look forward to seeing your craft room videos! Happy holidays to you and your family!

  17. Kathy Mc says:

Through the years you’ve shared so many awesome products, it makes me realize I’m not as organized as I think I am. Love my Stamp-N-Storage ink pad holder right up there with my plastic sleeves for stamp sets and dies. Thanks, Jennifer, for always sharing products, ideas and inspiration with us!

  18. Linda M says:

I just received my ink pad and marker storage units from Organize More and I LOVE them! It took awhile to get them, but it was worth the wait. I no longer have a messy drawer full of ink pads and markers, and I can easily see everything at a glance.

  19. Larissa says:

Thanks, Jennifer, for another great video! (I look so forward to your end of year Favorite things series!) My very favorite organization product this year has been the Darice Elizabeth Ward Bead Storage Solutions Tiny and Small Container Storage Trays. I have two of the tiny and one of the small, and I have been able to successfully corral all my embellishments in those three trays. I am no longer hunting around for them, they are all in one place, arranged by type and color. I could not recommend these products enough, and I was delighted to see that they made your Best Items for Organization for 2016 list! They really have made a huge difference for me! My second favorite things are the Ellen Hutson storage envelopes for dies and stamps. I cut up pieces of magnetic vent covers (available at Lowes for less than $5.00, you get three 8″ x 15″ magnetic sheets!) for each die set and place in the very sturdy Ellen Hutson envelopes. I haven’t lost a tiny die since doing that!

  20. Katie Kinde says:

My favorite organization tool is a tool spinner. It’s so handy to have everything close at hand.

  21. Dee Earnshaw says:

Thanks so much for your tips on organization. I have really found your series so helpful and would love to see it again next year. My favorite organizational tool would have to be my sterilite boxes with drawers which allow me to keep all my craft things together.

  22. jengd says:

My favorite items right now are the Avery Elle bags for storing polymer stamp sets and dies and the postless DVD cases for foam-backed rubber stamps.

  23. Kristine Vencel says:

Thank you for the chance to enter & possibly be a winner!
My favorite organization is for ink pads. I researched & found lots of great storage ideas years ago, but was unable to afford most of them. So, I made my own ink pad storage out of foam core board, and it works so well for me. Most of all, it is easy to move around as it is light! I have since purchased some premade storage, but they are heavy & more difficult to rearrange. And of course, I follow many of your suggestions for stamp storage. Love them!

  24. Charlotte C says:

I’m not sure what my favorite crafty tool is, but I have two of these things from The Container Store that hold hanging folders. In one I keep scraps, organized by color/pattern; in the other, card stock from Michael’s that I use for layering. In each hanging folder for scraps I have a folder that is closed on 3 sides so I can pull it out without worrying about stuff falling out. Hope that makes sense. I also have a rotating tool case similar to what’s sold at Michael’s for my everyday reach for stuff. I recently got the square cubes from Amazon to hold my Zigs and other markers, but I’m not crazy about the fact that the markers tend to slide out in a bunch if I reach for one too quickly (because they’re stored horizontally). The other one I took the X out of and it holds four mini distress ink pad tins, so that works great. Thanks for the chance to win, Jennifer.

  25. L. Sunn says:

I love to organize almost as much as I love to craft! I think the tool I love and use the most is my label maker! I label everything. I couldn’t live without it.

  26. Lisa Berry says:

I love my sequin keeper! Not only are they organized, they look so pretty.

  27. Hila Gissin Ben Shalom says:

I love your posts and youtubes.
I am a very organized person and I am all envy of your beautifully organized craft room.
My craft room doubles as an office and there’s not much space. I am new to die cutting and card making and You are very inspiring.
Love the label maker, It’s the first thing I want to use.

  28. Darlene Lambert says:

I love the Interdesign containers for keeping everything organized.

  29. Deb b says:

I love my ink pad stand. It sits on my table and use it all the time.

  30. Carmell says:

Hi! I just recently discovered your youtube channel and blog. Love it!!!! And love all the organization tips. I am a general crafter and also a beginner sewer. And a mom of 2 toddlers. So those mesh bags seem amazing! I could use them for my kids small toys (shopkins!), my sewing projects, and my paper crafting projects. I use the sterilite plastic storage containers with the hinged lids of the small toys right now. They are sturdy, clear and stackable. I am a bit more obsessed with keeping my kids’ toys in order than they are!

  31. Stacy V says:

I’ve totally been thinking of labelling my ink pads since I have them stacked up that I can’t see the colors. If I could afford the shipping fees, my future fave would be a custom ink pad organizer. Hopefully one day…

  32. Christine Buob says:

I have learned so much and enjoy all of your videos. I am trying to get my real small craft room organized so I can craft with ease. Thanks for giving me some ideas.

  33. Steffi H. says:

My secret weapon for organizing are clear boxes : I use them to store almost everything, and because they are clear, you can easily see what’s inside. And I use ice cube trays for the very small crafting items like sequins.

  34. Tara Prince says:

I use the same sequin storage and I love it!

  35. Pam Dunbar says:

My favorite organization tool is actually a pampered chef tool holder. I have two of them right on my desktop and it spins around so everything I use often is handy.

  36. FeM says:

I like the sequin/bead storage container. Thank you for this series … very helpful in every way.

  37. Megan Kapma says:

Thank you Jennifer for all these amazing ideas. I to love the idea of being organized. I do my best but things still get out of control. Love the ideas for pockets for the 8.50 x 11 papers. I have just purchased the Avery Elle stamp pockets and just started organizing my stamps.

  38. Jan Elmore says:

I think I’ve managed to go from a beginner stamper to the next tier….how do I know that? Because I NEED to get and stay organized!!!!! My best tool, so far, is keeping track of the dies I have purchased and your tips for magnetic sheets and pockets is my new best friend!

  39. Robyn Trimble says:

I will definitely be checking out those Avery Job Ticket Holders as I always use clear storage items for EVERYTHING. That allows me to see what’s inside and find things easily! Jennifer, I especially appreciate your trying various versions of one thing before you recommend something to your readers!

  40. Patty Cadby says:

Thanks Jennifer for another fantastic series 🙂

  41. Beverly U says:

Thank you for taking the time to test out all these items to recommend only the best! Your videos brighten my day!

  42. Wendy C says:

I definitely love the OrganizeMore Storage Units! They are the best and sort things nicely! Thanks for sharing~ Can’t wait to see your new craft room! =)

  43. Lagene says:

Thanks for all your ideas! My favorite storage for stamp sets is to stamp them on a white cardboard and then run through my laminator. That way the rubber cling stamps will stick to the sheet and I have large heavy weight zip lock bags that I slip them into. I use 8×10 pages that will accomodate several small sets or one large Kit of the monthrelease from my favorite Unity Stamps.

  44. Neudorf Terry says:

I find ur videos very helpful. My favourite thing to organize card stock is file boxes and I store my stamps DVD cases.

  45. Carol Khoo says:

My favorite organizer would be the sequin storage. Never knew they could be so compact and elegantly displayed.

  46. Jean K says:

Thank you so much for your series, Jennifer! It is always informative for me, and it gets me excited about adding to my wishlist. I don’t know if you read every comment, but I have a question for you. I use the fridge binz for my stamps and dies, but my issue is figuring out what I have. For example, if I am looking for an owl, how do I find that image? What organizational system do you use for finding what you need in your vast collection?

  47. Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for another great video, can’t wait to see the new craft room! I forgot to tell you that Darice has a package for less than $6.00 in Puerto Rico, you can find it cheaper in the States that has a BUNDLE of dimensional pieces, ranging from rectangular to small squares to tape runners and the small sticky long strips that SU has, but they are cheaper than SU, granted you receive one pack of them, but maybe they have all these shapes individually.
If Jean K is reading the comments, what I do is I take 2 photocopies of every stamp package and then I divide them as follows, one is the entire set and i have a binder for each company. the other I cut out and have binders for phrases, cupcakes, flowers, etc and I glue them to a loose leaf and write the name of the company under. If I want a phrase that says Happy Birthday for example, I go to that binder and look it up and see how many i have and the different fonts. Hope this helps!

  48. Jenn A says:

I liked your sequin organizer. It definitely helps to have clear stamps all in their own little clear plastic sleeve. I think I use my big and small plastic drawer organizers the most!

  49. Mona spark says:

I am a brand new card maker so, I do not have lots of thing to organize yet. I love all these thing you show us, definitely it will help me later while I building my stachs.

  50. Marian says:

I love reading your posts and I must say my craft room is a lot more organized thanks to a lot of your storage tips I have copied from you. It is so nice to know what I have and where I can actually find it. I look forward to reading your posts in the coming year. Using that storage bin for die cuts and stamps.
