Many have asked about a craft room tour. I actually shot a video of my old craft room in my old house. And the video will be here soon! I promise. I haven’t had time to share it as it is a big project. But soon…

I just ordered many of your recommended products so I’m sure my favorite item will change once they arrive, but as of right now I have to go with my trusty label maker. I love that thing and fear I have over-stepped the line on what is considered reasonable labeling.

  2. Anne says:

My favorite organizational tool is using clear storage drawers to store my paper scraps in. I used my flower punch to cut out the scrap paper color that’s in the drawers. Check out my blog for pictures. Lessismore247

  3. Kathy L says:

The job ticket holders are the best idea. I had been looking for a way to store many colors of cardstock without the expense (and storage space) of the wooden or acrylic storage units. With the job ticket holders, I can store so much more paper in a smaller shelf space. Love them!

I recently watched your organization playlist and found it supper helpful. I have a small craft space that needed a lot of organization in order for me to be creative. My favorite organization tool is the small Avery page protector pockets, they are the perfect size for most stamp sets, even the taller ones ?. I also love the clear pockets from Avery Elle to store my dies. I love both of these items so much because I can see exactly what is inside

  5. Linda Tupper says:

Loved your video. My New years resolution is to organize my craft room. I have a hard time finding things. Right now my fav organizational took is my ink pad holder and sequin holders. I have so many items on my wish list to use for organization. I really need a label maker also.

  6. Katrina says:

My absolute need to have organization tool is the magnetic sheet for die storage. I can live with nothing but cant bear dies keep falling down and scratch each other!

  7. Hi Jennifer!

Wow, that quick glimpse of your art room made me turn a lovely shade of green. I hate to say it, but I was green with envy!

I am really in awe of your amazing Sequin Storage unit! (As well as your ample collection of every color imaginable of sequins!) This piece could be used for soany different doo-dads! My mind is just over flowing with ideas! And on top of that, I learned I have been spelling “sequins” incorrectly my entire life!

I have found this series to be very helpful, inspiring, educational and it enticed me to shop more! It was helpful because it would have taken me years of research to learn about each of the various items. Since I couldn’t possibly afford to try a variety of each idea, your descriptions helped a lot! It was an inspiring series because I didn’t even know many of these items existed! Now I can change up some of my crafting habits. I hope to be more efficient, be less stressed, have more fun, and be able to share more cards with others! I’m sure you know how this series would entice me to shop more! I think I am most excited about the addition of the MISTI to my craft room!

I would indeed enjoy watching next year’s series on your Favorite Crafting Things. I did share my eish list with my husbsnd. He was grateful! He took care of my birthday, Christmas gifts, and still has ideas for Mother’s Dsy and a couple of “Just Becausr” gifts! Thank you for taking the time to make these videos and share them.

Thank you, Simon Says Stamp and the person or company giving away a label maker for such a generous and exciting chance to win!

    He IS Able!

I am not very organized. I don’t have a craft room so it’s my bedroom which right now is kind of messy and our dining room table which has all my Christmas card making stuff on it right now. I wish I could have my own craft room but there is no place in my house for one. I’d love to have one of those cute little sheds for crafting in our backyard but the bugs are so terrible in the summer down there I’d probably never use it and I couldn’t use it in the winter. I need to move! LOL Yeah, someday I will probably have to but right now, I make do with what I have.
I looked on that web site you mentioned for storage and I loved some of what they had. I only have about 5 Stampin’ Up ink pads so those were out. The paper storages were great if I had only that much paper and it was all the same. If I have 2 of the same pieces of paper that’s a lot although I do have some solid colors from a pack that are the same colors. What I really loved about them was that everything was made in their state, not China or Japan or somewhere equally not made in the good old USA. I liked the marker holder. That reminded me of the ones they have at JoAnn’s.
I have a great storage holder for my Washi tape and I am going to share it on here. It’s a DIY I saw on-line and knew I had what it took to make it. Years ago a lady I worked with gave me a bunch of embroidery hoops and thread that used to belong to an aunt who died. She said I was the only one she knew who did that. One of the hoops was huge! I will never do a project that big but I hated to throw it away or recycle it. I up cycled part of it. The part of the hoop with the nut & screw can be used to store your Washi tape or anything on a roll like ribbon. You unscrew the nut just like if you were embroidering and thread all your Washi tape onto the opposite side, then you screw it back up and you have it stored. This hoop is so big I have plenty of room for more Washi tape. The other part is all plastic so I will recycle it.
I have to watch your video too because I want to see what you do. Thanks for all the great ideas!

  9. Diane F says:

Love your organization tips. That sequin storage looks just awesome. My favorite is using magnetic sheets for die storage.

  10. I have started using Stuftainers in Thin and Thicker for my rubber stamps and my kits. When I get a craft room I’m gonna put up a peg board to hang them on.

  11. Memoriesbymanda says:

My favourite organisation is an idea I got from you:Avery Elle stamp storage pockets. I managed to buy two wooden drawers this year which are perfectly sized to hold some of my clear stamps in their Avery Elle pockets – a bargain at $4 for the two.

  12. JaMiro says:

I love my Organize More stamp pad storage. I also love my Ellen Hutson stamp storage pockets in my Fridge Binz… thanks to your suggestions.

  13. Jan44 says:

I love this series and since organization is not my strong suit, I’ve used many of your tips and ideas! I’m so excited about that sequin holder because I have not been happy with the things I thought would work perfectly! OOPS!
Probably my most favorite, or the one that has made the most difference for me is a combination of two things! The Avery Elle envelopes for my clear stamps and the plastic refrigerator containers. We had moved from a home to an apartment because if my husband’s health. It meant that craft space was diminished greatly. So finding ways to organize (a work in, progress) has been priceless. So thank you for all your tips and inspiration in all areas of my stamping!

  14. Maria S in WA says:

I love the interdesign clear plastic containers. The sizes are prefect for keeping drawers organized. Thank you so much for doing these annual crafty things videos, I look forward to them each year. 🙂

  15. Tracey Landt says:

Thank you Jennifer for once again doing this series. I find it extremely interesting and informative.
I too have the same sequin storage unit and I find it great.
    Thanks once again.

  16. Tina Kloepfer says:

I must say I really like using labels to help me organize! I also like to make swatches for paints by cutting watercolor paper to fit inside the paint or colored pencil tin lid. I maintain a swatch binder for markers, pens, pencils, inks and art crayons. Perhaps the best thing I do to help me organize my crafts is maintaining an inventory book and wish list. It really helps me to avoid running out of supplies, buying duplicate supplies and where each item is located to save time and money.

I wish I could buy all of the great organizational items I’ve seen on the Internet, but my budget is squeaky tight. So I do a lot of DIY. If you could share more DIY alternatives I would really appreciate it.

  17. Rose Mary Smalley says:

As always you inspired me…..I have used quite a few of your suggestions in the past videos…and have really improved my craft room space. I will be purchasing a few more different items to help make my room a little more efficient. Thank you so much Jennifer….Bless you and your family and may you enjoy a splendid Holiday Season.

  18. Kayleen Kamikawa says:

The tim Holtz mini storage units for the mini stamp pads are so cute and I love them.

  19. Michelle C says:

This is my favourite topic of the series (and I love them all)! Thanks for sharing!

  20. Lisa M says:

Ive adopted your labeling methods and the inter design bins for all my stamp pockets. They are so much easier to look through and organize. What a huge help you have been with getting me more organized:) Thank You so much!

  21. Kat says:

I don’t really have a particular favorite organization tool but i love to organize my stuff. Thanks for a chance to win.

  22. Naama says:

Thanks for this video (and the whole series – so helpful!), I’m working in a small space that doubles-up for other purposes so organization is very important. I can’t really fit in the bigger furniture/containers sets, but I love seeing all the options – a girl can dream, right? haha Looking forward to the new studio tour!
You haven’t mentioned it here, but I adopted your embossing powders containers system (the little spoon grips – brilliant!) and am gradually getting more boxes. I ended up going with a sandwich type box, they take less space height-wise and are wide enough to dip in the edge of a card and keep me from making a mess 😉

  23. Lindsey says:

I love my mini Distress Ink tins for storage!

  24. ShirleyD says:

    Very helpful series, thank you!

  25. Dawn Skene says:

I am getting my stamps organized using clear pockets and I use my label maker to label my ink pads. Thanks for sharing so much great information in this series!

  26. I have see trough bins with lids in different sizes to store my craft supply by type. One for inks and acrylic blocks, one for embelishments ect.. I don’t have much yet, so everything easily fits in bins.

  27. Danielle Dietz says:

My favorite organization by far is the storage pockets and fridge bins for stamps. I love to organize and my hubs says I buy stuff just to organize it. Sounds about right. 🙂

  28. Eve says:

I happen to get Tin Cans more often than most people, cuz my friend is a Japanese and he receives a lot of Japanese sweets at work (their tradition), and since he doesn’t need those, I always get the emptied tin cans, and the great thing about those are mostly comes with “dividers” to divide the kinds of sweets. I have lots of those tin cans, and I keep ribbons, inkpads, stamps, CS, etc, etc, etc. It’s really hard for me to “spend money” on “Organization things”, rather than, like stamps, inks, markers and dies… haha… but those beautiful tin cans are all free! 🙂

  29. Marie Butler says:

I love your favorite things videos; always very helpful. I am currently without my craft room and crafting supplies (we are in Australia for 6 months as my husband is the acting principal for a theological college). I am excited to get back to crafting soon. I also love being organized. I use some of the bins you have recommended and various pretty baskets and bowls to keep supplies together and within reach.

  30. Sarah JS says:

Please Jennifer, you must do this again next year. I love this series of videos each year, as it inspires me to do more, create more, and of course organise more. Very much looking forward to your old craft room tour, and the new craft room tour … (could this be lessons learnt from the original?). Love your style and dedication to the craft.

  31. Jeanie says:

    Hi Jennifer!
Love your organization ideas!! One of my favs is the inter design bins for my clear stamp sets. That has been a game changer to clear up space and organize them well! Thanks for the awesome ideas and your time to show us them!

  32. Sandra KM says:

My favorite organization object in my craft room is a large 6 drawer clear acrylic storage tower. It holds so much and because it’s clear I can see what is inside easily.
Thanks for all your great ideas. I learn so much from your videos.

  33. Talleka A. says:

I have a ton of mini Distress inks so my favorite are Tim Holtz tins. However, your sequins storage has really intrigued me. I’ll have to get one of those.

  34. Dolores VanGilder says:

I love the sequin holder and the job ticket holder with the handle. All of your ideas are great. Thanks for the suggestions.

  35. Pam Klehm says:

I have two 3-drawer units that fit on one of my shelves and that’s where I keep all my paper scraps, organized by color group. As simple as it sounds, I go to those drawers all the time and almost always find what I’m looking for. I also have a patterned paper drawer where I clip scraps of pattern paper with matching solid card stock. I recently purchased the Distress Ink holders and those are working well, too!

    Thanks for sharing, Jennifer!

  36. 2dachsy says:

I have watched all your “favorite things” videos, and I just love them. I really like the looks of the job ticket holders and plan to get some of those. I have a drawer full of empty packaging bags as I am always looking for things to store stuff in, but they are so flimsy, they don’t last long, and don’t stay neat. The fact that the ticket holders appear to be so sturdy sold me on getting some of them! I also was really interested in the mesh bags for taking things to my granddaughter’s house so we can play! Thanks for all your great ideas, Jennifer.

  37. Heidi says:

I love my catalogue. In here I can find everything I have (stencil, die, stamp) and where I stored it in my room.

  38. carol snedden says:

By far the favorite storage for me is the die storage envelopes. I am a little OCD so spend hours reorganizing my stamp room if I don’t feel creative to work on a card. Now I need to figure out how to keep stuff off my workspace. It is a large desk and I end up working in a small little space by the time I drag all the items I think I may use out. I tried small storage containers for a project, also a magnet board that would hold small items. Now I think I need a map of where everything is so I don’t spend so much time hunting. I do have the second floor of my house just for my “stuff” so am very fortunate. I am on the hunt for those job ticket holders. My old papers are starting to get damaged from going through them so many times.

  39. Suzie Thomas says:

Since finding your blog, I have changed over all my stamps to the Inter Design Fridge Bins and the Avery Elle pockets. I love it!!! You have inspired me to try new products that I wouldn’t normally do. Thank you Jennifer.

  40. Jackie P. says:

I thoroughly enjoyed this series of your favourite crafty things!! I am trying to get my craft room a bit more organized. I have a niece few small containers that all can stack and clip together and the top one has a handle on top to carry. I keep my dies in them but I also have one that I keep for when im crafting on the go. It keeps all the essentials in itquite nicely

  41. Suzanne Thomas says:

Since finding your blog, I have changed over all my stamps to the Inter Design Fridge Bins and the Avery Elle pockets. I love it!!! You have inspired me to try new products that I wouldn’t normally do. I can’t wait to see your new craft room.

  42. Kellee Kennett says:

I recently purchased the Darice storage trays for sequins and small embellishment storage and have begun to load the sequins. I love the ability to see all the colors for ease of selection! Right now the units are stacked but in my remodel, I plan to incorporate the trays into drawers or slide out shelves. Also, the snap on lids will protect the contents during travel from summer to winter locations and weekend retreats!
I FINALLY have my own craft room (still using the laundry room in the summer house)! I can’t wait to see your new creative space as your expertise will be so helpful in my planning!

  43. Jennifer Schuler says:

You helped me find the perfect organizational tools several years ago. I use stamp pockets and the bins to keep my stamps all organized along with the label maker. I also went to the ticket holder for my papers and it has worked beautifully!

  44. Kathleen Hartley says:

Great post today! My favorite organization item is a rolling cart that I can move around with my most-used supplies kept handy. Thanks, Jennifer.

  45. I love using pick and mix sweet containers for my design papers. They’re just the right size for 6×6 pads and free.

  46. Gayle A says:

Love your sequin storage boxes. My favourite products are the magnetic sheets that hold my dies. I also use a small photo album to hold my smaller dies.

Love your videos, always such great ideas and you make everything look so easy

  47. Sandy D says:

I don’t have a particular tool to keep me organized, even though I am an organizer. I use a lot of your suggestions on a smaller scale. I have my stamp pads stored in inexpensive plastic parts & pieces drawer cabinets that were made for nails, screws, bolts, etc. for a guy’s workshop. I would love to have a designated craft room. Right now I drag everything to my dining room table and we have no where to eat! Thank you so much for your “Crafty Things” series. It is so information!

  48. Kit A says:

I love the stamp storage envelopes and my label maker. Your talk and demonstration of these products some time ago is what sold me.

  49. TErry B. says:

I have a huge 3 ring that I keep many of my stamp sets in, and when I need a set, all I do is go to that binder and get it! So my binders are one of my fav organizational tools.

    Merry Christmas!

  50. Shelly Sweigart says:

Thanks for the updated video despite your move and not having your craft room completed. I look forward to your tour! I have put into use many of your organizational methods in my own craft room. My favorite organizational tool is the ink swatch booklet. I do a design like you do with the coin pockets and add a matching cardstock swatch to the back of each ink swatch. I refer to this all the time when I’m crafting!
