My Favorite Crafty Things 2018: Adhesive & Paper

Hello! I am back with another episode of My Favorite Crafty Things 2018. Today is all about adhesive and paper.

Important note (and confession): It’s been a challenging few months. Yikes! A couple family members are having health challenges… and life got away from me. I am a giver and I was giving so much that I started to feel weak. Last weekend, while I was snuggling for a nap with Lila (I have been uber sick), I decided to let go of a lot of things. And I felt a lightness that I needed so badly. I know I am not the only one struggling, so I wanted to share in case this helps you feel not-so-alone, too. Hang in there and embrace that light! As part of me letting go of stress, I will not be trying to jam the rest of My Favorite Crafty Things series before the New Year. I apologize for the delay… it all got away from me. I need to focus on my family. I thank you for your understanding. Hugs!

How about several great discount codes from some of our favorite shops? I will be updating this list:

Let’s talk about adhesive and paper

  1. Wet adhesive is my favorite. I would love to try the connect glue.
Take care of yourself. Then you can properly care for others, including your you tube friends.

  2. My favorite adhesive is Gina K connect glue thanks to you Jennifer. I love all your videos and great tips.

  3. I love Creative Memories tape runner. I’ve been using it for years. But, I just got the Gina K connect glue and can’t wait to try it out.

  4. I currently use the Tim Holtz Mat adhesive but will be buying the Gina K Connect Glue very soon. Thank you again for all you do, and all the time & effort you put into your wonderful informative inspiring videos.

  5. For scrapbooking, I still use my ATG tape runner because the adhesive is strong, and a roll lasts a long time. For small spots for cardmaking or small embellishments, I use glue dots and sometimes Glossy Accents. The past couple of times Gina K glue was on sale I tried to buy some but it was sold out – I guess I need to keep trying!
    Thanks for all your recommendations!

  6. After watching you recommendation of the Kokuyo Dotliner adhesive, I had to try it out. It was the perfect replacement for my old adhesive that was discontinued.

  7. I really like my Connect Glue and my ATG Runner. I keep them both really close! Thank you so much for all of your hard work on your videos and website! I appreciate it! Hope you get to feeling better soon! BTW, being able to rub off the excess ATG tape is a feature I LOVE!

  8. My favorite adhesive is Scrapbook Adhesives E-Z Runners. I have gone to using the Grand size. I prefer to use the repositionable dots since I do change my mind often as to where I want something of if I put something down crooked. However, when I am sure of myself, I use the Permanent strips. If you talk about glue, I love the Nuvo glue with the fine point. I use it sometimes instead of the adhesive.

  9. Amongst wet glues, my favorite is the Gina K Connect Glue, which I found out about thanks to you! I especially like that the tip does not clog and you can get a thin line if needed. When it comes to dry adhesives, I like Scor tape best but may have to try the Be Creative tape you showcased. As always…thanks for all your expert advice!!!

  10. I have always used Scrapbook Adhesives E-Z Runner and Tombow Mono liquid glue. I definitely want to try GinaK’s adhesive and glue. She is one of my favorite crafty people! Thanks for all that you do!

  11. I LOVE the Gina K Connect Glue as well as the NEW Therm O Web Ultra Bond Adhesive!! I’ve ALWAYS preferred liquid adhesive, but I also use iCraft Zots ALOT too!! The Bling size are my FAVORITE!! THANKS for sharing and for the chance to WIN!!

  12. I have been using the Stick It Adhesive Sheets on detailed die cut words to stack layers. I love the way the layered words stand out on my cards. May 2019 bring you all things HAPPY!

  13. My favorites are Art Glitter Glue and a flue by Tonic. I’m thinking I need to try the Gina K adhesives. I like the way you rubbed the dotted one right off!

  14. My favorites are Art Glitter Glue and a flue by Tonic. I’m thinking I need to try the Gina K adhesives. I like the way you rubbed the dotted one right off!

  15. My favorites are Creative Memories tape runner for scrapbooking and Stampin’ Up! SNAIL adhesive for cardmaking, but I’m game to try Gina K!

  16. So glad you are taking care of yourself. That’s a hard thing to do when you’re a giver. I hope those around you are able to help you recharge your batteries.

On to my favorite adhesive, i love tape runners of all sorts!

  17. Well thanks again for another great series. So much information and I use this series as a reference guide.
Please look after yourself, while caring for others is a lovely thing, caring for yourself is so very important.
Yes is a magical word but occasionally saying no works wonders. Hoping your feeling less unwell very soon.
All the best to you and yours.
    Merry cheers
    Lisa

  18. Happy Holidays dear Jennifer! My favorite adhesives (because I have always used them) are Scrapbook Adhesives E-Z Runner and tapes and Xyron products.

  19. Hi Jennifer. You are so right about 2018 having been a challenging year. I admire you for being so open about your struggles as I think it helps the rest of us to realize we are not alone in this. Thank you.
My favourite adhesive is the Gina K Dot Runner. I was almost out and was trying to conserve to get through all the gift tags I was making, Then, lo and behold, I fished around in my “badly needs organizing drawer” and found the refill pack. Hallelujah!
Take care of yourself. Your videos are so calm and soothing for me. They are my therapy. Hugs.

  20. Generally speaking I like double sided tape adhesive, however I’m still looking for the adhesive that will stole my heart!

  21. Gina K Connect Glue does not disappoint! I ordered it this past year after you demonstrated it in your video, and praised it’s usefulness. Thanks Jennifer for a wonderful year of videos, take care of yourself! Blessings in 2019

  22. I just started using g the Gina K connect glue, I love it!! Great end of the year videos with lots of info. I will be referring to them often. Thank you!!

  23. We do not have access to Gina K products where I live, and international shipping has been quite a challenge in Canada lately. BUT, I’m going to a scrapbooking retreat in April and figured I could order some and have it shipped to where I will be. I’d like that very much 🙂

  24. I am loving the liquid Gina K connect glue. I have been using it for a while also based on your recommendation in your videos and it is great!

  25. Hope you feel better Jennifer! Holidays can be a mixed bag for people who are not well, and it’s easy to exhaust yourself. WIshing you a great 2019!
I use two adhesives – one is a Xerox tape runner and the other is a spray adhesive (I know you don’t like them much – I hate the smell too but it works so well!) I would love to try the Gina K glue, you’ve been using it all year, but shipping to Canada is so expensive! Fingers crossed to win – then I can give it a try.

  26. Thanks for the video. I like being reminded of different adhesive techniques.
Good for you for dropping even good things to focus on the best things!
Happy new year to you & your family.

  27. Love the Tim Holtz adhesive sheets and will try the Gina K Connect Glue. I have purchased her papers and foil and am impressed with the level of quality. Happy New Year!

  28. Jennifer, your videos are always so helpful and alert me to products I would not have known about otherwise! I so enjoy watching them and my only concern is the products are out before I can order. I use Tombow liquid adhesive, but it always clogs on me. I’m ordering the Gina K one that before it is gone! Please do take care of yourself and thank you for your wonderful videos!

  29. I have a much larger wish list after watching these videos, thank you so much!!! These are very helpful, especially since you provide the list with links!
Just love my roll of Couture Creations DIECUT’N BOND Double Sided Tape I purchased from Simon Says. “Paper thin and easy to use. When applied to your cardstock or paper ahead of die cutting, Diecut’n Bond places a layer of adhesive on your intricate die shapes. Once cut, peel off protective backing and place shape on a project where desired.”
I just used this to die cut a sentiment I wanted to stack on top of the same sentiment, several times, so it was raised off the card. The top layer was die cut from the stamped and colored card base, then I die cut 3 white sentiments, each time using the tape on the back to place them right into the negative space of the card front, then on top of each other. The original colored layer of the sentiment was last, and I was able to easily place this one on top of the stacked white ones, and then placed the negatives that were colored back in place.
The cards were a gift, and I wanted to be sure they all “stuck” quickly and stayed in place.

  30. I still use the cumbersome ATG gun for adhering layers of cardstock, but I am finding that I need liquid glue more and more (for diecuts and other details). I am happy with Lawn Fawn’s liquid, but am eager to try Gina K. I am especially eager to try her foam tape.

  31. My newest favorite adhesive is the new Gina K connect but it is very hard to get your hands on! It sells out very fast. But I was fortinate to get a tube in my Christmas presents from my friend Karla. I love it and I will purchase more in the very near future 💕

  32. Hi Jennifer – I’m loving the Gina K Connect glue. I like that I can easily move things before they are set! I also love that it dries clear. Thanks for all your blogs and posts – I’ve learned so much by watching your videos! Happy 2019!

  33. Jennifer, Thank you for your Crafty Things video on adhesives. Love Gina K connect glue and used it on all my Christmas cards this year to glue on my die cuts. I use a lot of Gina K products because they are so reasonable and great quality. I also use Stick Ti for a few years now. perfect for die words. I’m definitely buying Gina K’s foam adhesive tape. Thank you for all your great tips too

  34. Right now I love the lawn fawn glue tube. Hope you are feeling better. Happy holidays to you and your family.

  35. My favorite adhesive is the Gina K Connect Glue. It is everything you said in your blog about the wonderful crafting properties it has. I even use it when I’ve had to make a cumbersome adjustment in holding the tube, because I have severe arthritis in my hands, and I am unable to squeeze that small tube. Therefore, I use a pair of inexpensive pliers to hang on to the tube and squeeze. At first, it was very cumbersome and I wasted a lot of glue, but I have gotten better at controlling the tube/pliers. Haven’t tried the dry runner yet, but will probably do so soon.
