My Favorite Crafty Things 2018: Adhesive & Paper

Hello! I am back with another episode of My Favorite Crafty Things 2018. Today is all about adhesive and paper.

Important note (and confession): It’s been a challenging few months. Yikes! A couple family members are having health challenges… and life got away from me. I am a giver and I was giving so much that I started to feel weak. Last weekend, while I was snuggling for a nap with Lila (I have been uber sick), I decided to let go of a lot of things. And I felt a lightness that I needed so badly. I know I am not the only one struggling, so I wanted to share in case this helps you feel not-so-alone, too. Hang in there and embrace that light! As part of me letting go of stress, I will not be trying to jam the rest of My Favorite Crafty Things series before the New Year. I apologize for the delay… it all got away from me. I need to focus on my family. I thank you for your understanding. Hugs!

How about several great discount codes from some of our favorite shops? I will be updating this list:

Let’s talk about adhesive and paper

  1. I’m sorry to hear that you have to act as a caregiver to family. That can be the toughest job.
I really love the Gina K Connect glue. I tend to put on more than I need so the fact that it dries clear is important!
    Thanks for sharing your favs.

  2. It saddens me that you feel the need to apologize for taking care of yourself! You bless us so much with your creativity all throughout the year. You inspire so many people. I can feel your willingness to give, give, give and then give some more. Please take care of yourself. I know its hard to do especially when you are a mom, but remember what they say on the plane – place the oxygen mask on yourself before you assist someone else.
That means you girl! You are such a ray of sunshine in the lives of so many you do not know and will never meet. Keep being the kind and giving person you are, but please take care of yourself and never feel like you are letting any of us down. You and your family are the most important thing in the world. May 2019 be an extraordinary year for you!

  3. This year I started using Gina K’s Connect, thanks to you, and it’s everything you say it is! I was having a problem with clogging, but I was storing it upside down – now that you’ve “enlightened” me, I’ll store it right-side-up and hopefully, my problem will be gone!

  4. Oh my, Jen, do I ever understand where you’re coming from! My own inability to let things go landed me two weeks this fall nearly a state away as doctors tried to right some of the wrongs that had resulted health-wise after too long of taking on too much stress! Thank you for sharing yourself with us, and thank you for taking care of you a little bit better of yourself!

My favorite adhesive didn’t make your list, but I will share it anyway: good ol’ Tacky Glue! Large or small, it gets the job done swell!

Take care of yourself, Merry CHRISTmas, and Happy New Year to you and your entire family!

  5. Thanks for your “favorite” series…I did try the Gina K liquid adhesive and love it!
Always enjoy what you have to offer. It takes time and thought to produce such professional and articulate descriptions. Thank you!

  6. First, I am glad you are taking time for yourself and family!! I pray that things get better and a little less stressful!

My favorite adhesive is definitely be creative tape! I used to be all about tape runners but somewhere along the way be creative tape won me over !!

  7. My favorite adhesive is the Be Creative Tape. I do want to try the Gina K Connect Glue, but it always seems to be out of stock. I am not a big proponent of on line buying and Gina K’s store is only about 30 minutes from my house. Whenever I’ve been near it I stop to buy the glue, but they are always out of it. I would love to win the gift certificate for her store… just think of the things I could get!!!!
Thanks for all of your creativity and positivity… Chrissy

  8. I use alot of different ones, but I use the Glue Glider pro most of all. I love how strong it is. I have had problems with using some liquid inks on acetate strips where the images fall off in pop up box cards which is causing me to wonder if it is me or if multi medium mat has changed it’s formulation so it does not stay stron on acetate!!??! I hope you had a very happy and joyous christmas. Happy new year to you and yours.

  9. I’m going back old school to liquid adhesive after using tape runners for a very long time. I feel like they stick together better and longer. I came across some cards I had made years ago (with tape runner) and they were falling apart. I like the Gina K Connect glue, as well!

  10. Thank you so much for sharing your favorites. I am always on the lookout for perfect adhesive — especially liquid one. The perfect adhesive makes crafting faster, which is important on those days when you just need to do a bit to make your soul happy, but cannot really spare the time.
Sorry to hear that this year has been a difficult one; here is to a happy, healthy, inspired 2019 may it make everything whole and okay! All the best to young yours — always.

  11. Thanks so much for doing the favorite things videos, I truly love them and appreciate that you do them. Favorite adhesives is tough–as I’ve used my ATG gun for many years and find it quite economical, especially purchasing refill rolls with coupons. I do find that different projects require different adhesive–and since I struggle with getting things lined up and straight, find liquid glue to be best for putting together card layers. – My “go to” if it’s not something small is Scotch tacky glue. But I recently purchased the Gina K connect–and for small things like word and letter dies there’s nothing better. I’ve purchased Fineline and other brand applicators, and they all clog, no matter what I do. Haven’t had that issue with Gina’s ever. I met Gina at a scrapbook convention last September and purchased the narrow foam tape from her booth which has no label and is a huge roll, but it’s wonderful, perfect for small things pop ups and shaker cards.

  12. Just bought some Gina K connect glue, but haven’t used any of these adhesives yet.No apologies needed, Jennifer.I enjoy & learn from you each time I tune in. Happy 2019!

  13. I appreciate all your videos I learn so much from you. But 1st I hope you take care of you and your family! I also like Gina K glue, tombow and Nuvo glue. I use various tape runners and foam tape.

  14. I have so many favorite adhesives, manynof which you highlighted. My favorite liquid is Art Glitter Glue. There is no glitter in it, not sure why has that odd name. It dries clear, can move item around a little before final placement. Thanks for all you do to teach and educate us, sharing your talent and experience. Blessings!

  15. I love my favorite things videos! I get so inspired by your work, that I always want to know what you are using! Thanks for sharing and I’m sure I’ll be getting most things on this list!

  16. Thanks to your recommendation, I have fallen in love with Gina K’s Connect glue. I wouldn’t have found it without your videos. I have discovered many favorite products thanks to you. I so appreciate your videos and favorites summaries. It doesn’t matter to me when they are posted, I so appreciate the information you are willing to share as they are always immensely informative, professional and on track . THANK YOU!

  17. My favorite adhesive is 3L thin scrapbooking foam squares. I really appreciate they come in black and white.

Hope things are looking up for you and your family. My family has had a lot of illness in the past month. It’s overwhelming, exhausting and terrifying. I’m hoping my crafting will help me process all of it as I haven’t yet.

  18. I really prefer liquid adhesives. I am not so great on getting things exactly where they should be on the first go. I like to be able to tweak it a bit if needed. Thanks so much for the heads up on Gina K Connect glue. It works fantastic. I especially like it for very intricate things. It is just what I needed. Thank you very much for everything you do for us, Jennifer. Praying that next year will be a better one for you.

  19. My favorite adhesive is good old glue stick. I also use Elmer’s Glue for my glitter. I have tried glue dots and they work pretty good, too.

  20. Hi Jennifer ,
Hope you and your Family is well and a merry Christmas. This year wentso fast and I had lots people passing and my good friend who I just started her in crafting this year around September. She was so excited and looking forward to out next year third Sunday’s of the months now she gone. I enjoy all your videos please keep doing them smiles. Because I enjoy trying the things you recommend smiles. The black Tim Holtz handle snips are same as red handle ones I have those and love them smiles. Have a happy new year !!!

  21. Newbie here, so far favorite adhesive is Tombow Mono. Thanks so much for all your educational postings. New subbie to blog and YouTube channel.

  22. I think I have tried most all of the one you have recommended over the years. I want to try the Gina K connect glue I am tired of sticking pins into clogged glues it kinda of take the fun out of the project. I do like being able to quickly fix a glue problem before it’s to stuck. May you and your family have a Happy New Year.

  23. I have been using a tombo mono dot tape runner for awhile now but do want to try ginas one of these days…like her connect glue too.

  24. My favorite adhesive is actually from last year the Kokuyo dot adhesive runner. I bought so many of them I still have a few left, but they are amazing and hold so much adhesive and holds fantastic. My liquid adhesive is still the Scotch brand. Although I think they’ve changed it at some point, so I may be looking for another soon.

I totally love all these crafty videos. But I am a big proponent of family first. So you take care of you and we will be here waiting for you for whenever you’re available. I appreciate all you do for our community. God bless you!

  25. my go to has always been tombow for wet but I still just cant find a runner that I like, I mean I really like the ATG glue but hate how big it is I wish there was a smaller runner with that glue 🙂 and then I love the stampin up dimensional’s I find they work for me the best. now that Gina K has all these glues I think I’ll have to try them out. So sorry you and the family have been under the weather, feel better soon. I hate that you girls (design team/youtubers) feel like you cant take time to enjoy your family’s or just yourself I wish you more restful days in the new year

  26. Thank you for doing videos for us all year long. Really enjoy the favorites series. I bought several ew things from last year’s series. =)

Like you, I have favorites for different things! I love the Sizzix adhesive sheets for larger detailed dies, Tombow liquid glue for some things, Score Tape for permanent projects that will be handled a lot, Herma Dotto for my scrapbooks, and Tombow tape runner for most of my cards.

  27. For years I have loved my ATG gun, but for some projects it just isn’t strong enough. I have started using Gina K’s Connect glue. It’s fantastic! I have never liked liquid adhesives, but this one has changed my mind.

  28. I hope you’re getting rest! I notice most women get the “New Year Bug” after running ourselves down during the holidays. I still like my Zip Dry and Scotch glue! Thanks for the chance to win!!!!

  29. Caregivers rarely take enough time to care for themselves. Sometimes they honestly don’t have enough time. Family comes first. Not us. We love your sharing and they way you teach and reach out to help us with products.
    I’m glad you’re feeling better.

My favorite adhesive is my 3M Foam tape. I use so much of it. I need giant rolls.

  30. My go to adhesive is Miracle Tape. I get it at my local craft store. I have’t really settled on a wet adhesive yet, but will try Gina K. Connect glue when I can.
Thanks for putting these videos together. They are so helpful.

  31. I’ve been using my ATG gun and Tombow glue. Have checked out Gina K’s adhesives on her blogs several times but, honestly, they are so popular they are hard to obtain. Thanks for the opportunity, Jennifer. Be well!

  32. Jennifer, thanks for another of your My Favorite videos. My wish list gets longer every time I watch one of these videos! 😊 My favorite adhesive is Gina K Connect Glue. Found out about it on one of your videos and had to try it. It is awesome to use. Love that it dries clear and that I am able to get different thicknesses of it! Glad you are feeling better. You give so much and you need to take care of yourself too! Wishing you good health and much happiness on 2019! You sure bring much happiness to all of us crafters!!! ❤️

  33. My favorite adhesive so far is be creative tape, perfect for putting together interactive cards. I have yet to find an adhesive runner that doesn’t get messed up, so I’ll be trying the ones you recommended.
Take care of yourself, is a habit most of us need to learn.

  34. My favorite is the liquid adhesive Tomboy Multi Mono. I feel that it stays put better than the tape runners. And like you mentioned, you have a little time to play with it to make sure it’s straight. I am really going to purchase some Gina K Connect Glue. It seems like you have more control over how much is applied. I watch all your favorite things videos and take lots of notes. So glad you are feeling better. Take care!

  35. My absolute favorite adhesive is the Gina K Connect Glue. I started using it about 3 months ago after I watched one of your videos and decided to give it a try. It does everything you said it would. I especially love that you can get really tiny drops when working with intricate dies. Jennifer your suggestions are gold… you take all the guess work out of what to use. I truly appreciate you sharing your time and pray you will be 100% soon. May God richly bless you and your family in 2019.

  36. I watched you use the Gina K connect glue and when I was at the Great Lakes scrapbook event I saw it and your right it is awesome!
Thank you for all of your videos! I get lots of ideas and learn tons
    Again thanks!

  37. I think you’ve sold me on the Gina K connect glue! It’ll be going in my shopping cart with my next crafty order!
Don’t apologize for taking time for yourself! I am in awe of the creativity you bring to the crafty world and your deserve down time to regroup! Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2019!
