My Favorite Crafty Things 2018: Adhesive & Paper

Hello! I am back with another episode of My Favorite Crafty Things 2018. Today is all about adhesive and paper.

Important note (and confession): It’s been a challenging few months. Yikes! A couple family members are having health challenges… and life got away from me. I am a giver and I was giving so much that I started to feel weak. Last weekend, while I was snuggling for a nap with Lila (I have been uber sick), I decided to let go of a lot of things. And I felt a lightness that I needed so badly. I know I am not the only one struggling, so I wanted to share in case this helps you feel not-so-alone, too. Hang in there and embrace that light! As part of me letting go of stress, I will not be trying to jam the rest of My Favorite Crafty Things series before the New Year. I apologize for the delay… it all got away from me. I need to focus on my family. I thank you for your understanding. Hugs!

How about several great discount codes from some of our favorite shops? I will be updating this list:

Let’s talk about adhesive and paper

  1. I love the Be Creative tape when I need a strong bond. For liquid adhesive, I am currently using the Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue. Thanks so much for these videos. Hugs to you and your family!

  2. My most used adhesives are the ATG gun and Tom Bow multi mono liquid glue. I would like to try Gina K’s Connect glue but it always seems to be sold out. That tells me people are really enjoying using it.

  3. I usually reach for the sookwang be creative adhesive, but I have struggled with multi medium and other liquid glue. No matter what bottle I use, it ends up clogged. Probably user error. I think I have to give the Gina K a try. Thanks for the video. I always learn so much.

  4. Wow, I love all the adhesives! But my favorite is the connect glue! I use it all the time! As soon as the Gina K foam tape comes back in stock I’m going to order it.

  5. Jennifer: Don’t apologise for taking care of yourself. We will all wait until you feel better. “Human” can only go so far and then we collapse for awhile. Just take care of yourself and thank you for all you do. May 2019 be better for ALL of us!

  6. Thanks to you I am now a Gina K connect addict. I still use my kokuyo tape runner regularly as well (also thanks to you). Thanks for these videos, I love to see what other papercrafters have in their arsenal.

  7. So sweet of you to share and hope everyone is on the mend ! My favorite glue is Tombox Tape Runner and the Tombo liquid adhesive.
I will try these that you recommend! Thank you. I am so glad there are generous artist who share like you!

  8. I use my AGT tape runner all the time. I like the stickiness and strength. I received some double-sided adhesive paper from SSS that I used for the first time the other day and found it to be a great product as well. Thanks for all these reviews and links. They are very helpful.

  9. I have used score tape for many years. I love the hold it gives. I have just ordered some of the gina K connect glue and can’t wait to try it. I made my husband watch your video a tour of your new craft room. He will never say a thing to me about the amount of craft supplies I have. If my children are doing a project they come over and see if I have what they need before going to the craft store. It is my life and I love it. Enjoy your happy place. I sure enjoy mine.

  10. The adhesive I reach for on regular basis is my ATG gun. It’s a little cumbersome, but after using it for 5+ years, I have a technique down. I will be ordering the GinaK connect glue in my next order as per your recommendation. Thank you for your great teaching and product review videos!

  12. So glad you are taking time for you! You share so much with the crafting world, we can wait as long as you need for your year end crafty lists :)! I am always inspired by your videos and card designs. Wishing you a better New Year this year, and thanks for all you do!

  13. Happy New Year Jennifer and thanks for all you do. Hope you and your family are feeling better soon. One of my favorite adhesives is the Altenew tape runner. I also like Nuvo’s liquid glue.

  14. Thanks for your continued favourite crafty things! I’m looking forward to being able to watch the video for papers. My favourite adhesives are the be sookwang tape, my 3L tape runners, and the xyron sticker maker.

  15. I really like the Gina K adhesive connect glue and runners too – it seems like i am always running out!!Thank you for all your work producing these videos. I enjoy them immensely!

  16. Jennifer you are THE BEST!!! I love all your videos as they are so informative.. You always inspire me to do better. I wish you a happy & healthy 2019. I look forward to many more of your creativity.

  17. My favorite adhesive is the xyron dot runner. fits in my hand and adheres really well. I can also rub it off.

  18. My adhesive of choice has always been multi medium matte by ranger – so strong and dries clear which I love! I occasionally use tombow liquid glue also… as for dry adhesives, I love double sided tapes, and I usually get really good ones in my local stationery shops. I also use snail adhesives, but I use different brands of these also…

  19. It is always important to take time for yourself. Being a giver is wonderful but it will deplete you if you do not take time to stop and refill. Blessings to you and your family this year. As far as adhesives go, there is ofte a love/hate relationship. My ATG gun is wonderful but it gets on my nerves going off track and the sticky getting stuck inside. I loved the Tombow tape runner the best but they stopped making it. The Art Glitter Dries Clear Glue is the one I reach for the most but at your recommendation I have recently tried the GinaK Connect and I do like that. I especially like that it does not clog. I have the large roll of 3M tape you recommended and I have liked that also. For rolls, I use the Scrapbooking Made Simple tear tape and that has been remarkable. It is a good price point and is very good. Thank you for your tips and techniques. It is so helpful for the average crafter.

  20. I use either my ATG for dry adhesive, I like the way it fits my hand and I never lose it amongst the crafting clutter! For wet adhesive, I reach for Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive. It adheres paper to paper wrinkle free and is strong enough to attach embellishments to my cards. In 2 or 4 oz size, a bottle lasts a long long time.

  21. I’m still use my Scrapbook Adhesives runner for everyday card making. I love my Scor-tape and Glossy Accents for specialty adhesives. Can’t wait to get GinaK’s Connect Glue and masking sheets!

  22. I really like the lawn fawn glue tube, it’s very similar to the Gina K glue. My favorite dry adhesive is the b-creative (scor tape) I use this in 1/4, 1/2, and 1/8 mainly.

  23. Even though Xyron refills aren’t cheap, it is my favorite adhesive since my crafting time is limited.

Happy New Year to you and yours!

  24. I didn’t know about some of those products before but they look fantastic! Thanks so much for sharing them and for doing the “test it out” phase first so we can benefit from that knowledge.
May 2019 be a better year for everyone, bringing good or better health and more inner peace.

  25. My favorite adhesive isn’t on your list… Tombow Xtreme is great for heavy things that tend to come un-stuck or warped watercolor paper… holds it down straight. You just have to learn to snap to the side to ‘cut’ it when you’re done to keep it from gumming up on you. On your list my fav is the adhesive eraser – couldn’t live without it! I hear you on the health issues… 2018 saw a 3 month entrenched migraine, surgery for me and for dad . Plus trips to help several family members in S Indiana who were in the hospital. Health and family first = less time for crafting, for sure. I have a friend who taught me the Butterfly Release: see our problems that we have no control over as butterflies in a cage… open the door and free them, watching them flutter away, carefree and happy. Doesn’t change the problems, but does change how we feel about them. Having walked in real clouds of butterflies in S America, this resonated with me and helps release some of the tension. : ) Glad you found a way to release your tension, too! Hugs!!

  26. I love my ATG gun – I like how strong the tape is and that I don’t have to refill it as often. I also use Scor-tape and Tombow liquid glue when I need a stronger adhesive or a liquid one.

  27. Well Jennifer
Thanks again for an amazing wrap on Adhesives and Papers.
The biggest surprise to me was the Gina K liquid glue pen. It was amazing and I can’t thank you enough for recommending it.
I hope you have had a peaceful Christmas and wishing you a wonderful 2019.
Remember it take care of yourself this year, hug those small and not so small people in your life and make time for your significant other. A contented life isn’t rocket science. Just take the time to smell all the flowers and Create every day.
    Thankful Cheers

  28. My favorite wet glue is Art Glitter Glue and my favorite dry glue is the double-sided tape on rolls from Sookwang. Lots of good options out there.
Many thanks and all the best.

  29. My favorites are Sookwang for strong double sided adhesive, Tombow Mono for a strong liquid glue although I don’t like how it is quite sticky if it squishes out especially on intricate dies. I have used Stick-it and the large Sizzix adhesive sheets for intricate dies and they work well. I would like to try Gina K’s Connect Glue and foam tape. I have used Art Glitter Glue but only with Glitter. Thank you for doing these videos Jennifer. Happy New Year to you and your family.

  30. My favourite adhesive for majority of card making is double sided tape specifically be creative tape i actually buy directly from south Korea where its made (through etsy) a lot cheaper than SSS or anywhere else also known as sookwang tape they have an etsy shop and they have any size you need you can buy 1 roll or in bulk im overseas from US though so have to pay international postage but u can ask them for tracking and insurance for a couple dollars extra!
Just thought id recommend and suggest!

  31. Liquid adhesive seems to be the best overall & a bit more affordable.
Sending you wishes for Blessings & Prayers for the New Year. God Bless.

  32. Happy New Year!! I love your videos..My adhesive of choice is…..ATG gun, Art glitter glue and I have the Gina K adhesive, just have not used it alot.

  33. Dot runner adhesive is one of my favorites, but I recently got the Gina K Connect Glue and I really like that, too. Thanks for sharing your favorite things…there are a few new things I’d like to try now. 🙂
