My two favorite adhesives are Ranger’s Glossy Accents and Multi Medium Matte. Glossy Accents is a clear, strong adhesive that I like to put on top of embellishments for some shine. Multi Medium Matte is a very strong adhesive that dries matte. However, I find that changing out the tips of these bottles gives a better application and prevents them from clogging. I had done a video on this awhile back but wanted to update it as I get a lot of emails asking if these solutions still work.

For small bottles (such as the Mini Glossy Accents and Multi Medium Matte), I like to take the nozzle off with pliers and replace it with the Quilled Creations fine-tip nozzle. When placing the cap back on, press lightly. Pushing too hard may result in getting it stuck or damaging the needle. Also, I’ve found that the connector piece can come off, which I don’t mind at all, but it’s a personal preference.

For large bottles (such as the large Glossy Accents), I remove the nozzle with pliers and replace it with the Scraperfect No-Clog Writing Cap. I suggest wiping the tip off of glossy accents before placing the cap back on. I really like that the needle in the cap prevents clogging.

Another solution that is cost effective is placing a plastic hang tie (off of clothing) inside the applicator. No need for the cap and it prevents clogging as well.

There are many options out there (trust me – I think I tried them all!), but these have worked the best for me. Hopefully, one of these will work for you too!

  4. I love all sorts of adhesives. I’ll have a favorite for awhile and then it’ll be something else, as I start doing another type of work. My current favorite is a glue not meant for crafts. It’s General Electric’s premium silicone glue, in clear and metallic grey.

  5. I use Aleenes glue which comes in different varieties. Also Journey Glaze by Fun Stamper Journey.

  6. My fav liquid adhesive is Tombow Mono Multi liquid adhesive and Tombow tape runner the dotted kind is my favorite that I use quite a bit for card making. 8. Multi Matt Medium: have only just opened a free bottle of this which came in a kit many years ago and I am so impressed with it and with the Glossy one. I find it easier to use than the Glossy Accents and much more manageable. Thanks for the chance Karen

  14. My find Multi-Medium Matte to be the most reliable adhesive in my collection. I collected an arsenal of adhesives (Scotch clear glue, Tacky glue, Xyron double sided tape, and Scotch ATG). However, I sleep better knowing that I used MMM on a layered card.

  15. I love Glossy Accents. I have occasionally used silicone glue for decoupage work but must admit to falling back on the “Sticky Bud” squares for that.
Having a precision nozzle for a small edge area that has not stuck down is good. Thanks for the hang-tag tip, I had just bought a new T shirt so I saved the tag this time instead of binning it.

  23. Glossy Accents is definitely my favourite. I also have the Tombow mono liquid glue but not as keen on that one, sometimes I find it doesn’t hold things. I keep trying to get the Multi Medium Matte and the no clog tips but they’re always out of stock when I have money!

  24. Like black ink pads, I have several glues that function a little differently. Glossy Accents is my favorite and I like US Artquest’s PPA for tissue collage.
