Video: New Distress Inks – Pearlized Paper… and GIVEAWAY!

Happy Sunday.  I have a video, cool deal and giveaway today.  First, the video…

I have been wanting to do something with this favorite photo of mine and decided it was time.  The project is very simple, but I figured I would film it so you could see all the new Distress Inks in action.  I used them all in here and they are delicious.  Truly.  (The video shows many other tips.)

020610 Grateful Frame 3
Supplies: All 12 new Distress Inks – coming soon; Perfect Pearls Perfect Pearl color; Mini Mister; Silhouette (to cut title); Corner Chomper; Heart Punch from EK Success; Tombow Mono Dot Permanent Adhesive; EK Success 3-D Dots foam dots; Silhouette.

BTW, the punch in this video is wonderful – the little heart on the inside is just perfect.  (It seems to be hard to find, but it is in stock HERE.)

I also saw that the might Corner Chomper is in stock again HERE.  Yes, you do need to have this.  Trust me. 🙂

150565_1000x1000 I also have been getting lots of questions about the new adhesive I love.  Be very careful – many of the Tombow adhesives look alike and have similar names.  But there is only one perfect one.  🙂  THIS is it.  (I show it in the video.)

Now… on to the cool offer and giveaway…

  6a00e550ccd8ce88340128775fadcc970c-800wi

The other day, I shared my very-loved personalized stamp for putting on the back of cards.  It turns out a few of you went over and ordered one of your own, so the seller, Karissa of Kiss and Tell Cards, contacted me.  Turns out she is a big sweetheart and is offering 10% off stamp orders through the end of February if you mention “Jennifer McGuire, Ink.”   AND!  She said I could do a few giveaways.  WOOHOO!  So, I am going to do one today.  (Thanks, Karissa!  You know I will be ordering more. 🙂

So, for a chance to win a personalized stamp of your own, just leave a comment here by Wednesday at 11:59pmEST recommending something to me.  (Movies, product, blog… anything.)  I will then pick a winner who will get to choose from these stamp designs from Kiss and Tell Cards...

I will be giving a couple more of these stamps away in the next week.  I just love them.

Have a great day.

    Three recommendations:
1)If you don’t watch House, M.D. you SO should! It’s fantastic!
2)The Purpose Driven Life (book) is life-changing…
3)Warm apple pie with a little cheddar cheese on top–who knew those two could go so well together?!?!

Thanks so much for the chance to win such a great prize! You’re awesome!

What to recommend… I found a great way to store ribbon. I had a square petty good size makeup case that I got free with purchase and never used. I punched holes in all sides, took the ribbon off the spool and threaded thru the holes. Works great, was free and stores a ton of ribbon in a small space.

By the way… when will you be posting the winers of cards for kids? Are you still doing it? The site says to send in cards by 1/31.

    Hi Jen –

I used to use Tombow, but now I love my Glue Arts Glue Glider – it is really awesome and I have never had anything come apart!

  5. What a lovely creation Jennifer! It’s so sweet and that picture is precious!
Thanks for the chance to win such a great stamp!!

I highly recommend The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. I have not seen the movie but the book is a fabulous read. Very touching story.

  6. Lety Kalmikov says:

I highly recommend the movie “Mad Hot Ballroom”–it’s funny, touching, and a totally feel good family appropriate movie!

  7. Michelle Cline says:

Beautiful layout! I know you have a little boy about the same age as mine (my son, Dax will be 4 in March). I just bought Reminisce’s Monster Collection paper. It’s the cutest little boy paper I’ve seen! The colors are bright, and the little monsters are so whimsical and so stinkin’ cute! I really hope they will come out with some robot paper soon, too, because Dax is having a Robot themed birthday party!

Oh, and I also love my Glue Glider Pro with Perma Tac adhesive. I just wish they sold the refills at Walmart!

  8. Barb says:

Watch Chuck Mondays on NBC. I love that show–it’s clever and funny with some suspense thrown in for good measure.

  9. Wow Jennifer!! Thank you! My recommendations? Hmmm, okay, so one recommendation would have to be to my favorite place to eat dinner – The Melting Pot! I love the environment and the food!! Yum! My second recommendation would be to challenge yourself to make something only using products you have on hand. I’m a big “collector” and find myself buying things more than I’m using them. I’m constantly trying to challenge myself to make something out of only the items I currently have. Or to use my scrap papers that I keep. That’s a fun one and I usually get a few really cute cards out of it.

Thanks so much for the giveaway! Please stop by my blog and take a peak if you’d like. Follow along as well if you like what you see. 🙂 Have a great day!

Really enjoyed your video and seeing all the new Ranger colors. What a beautiful finished framed project.
Are you familiar with James Avery jewelry. Lots of it is Christian themed and you can buy it in silver or gold. I’ve been wearing it since the 70’s. You can find it at jamesavery.com

  11. cathy says:

tag says “bear hugs and kisses from Collin”

it is what my girls are doing. 😉

Super project and great video. My favorite tool of late is the Quicker Poker Picker Upper from QuicKutz! Thanks for sharing your video!

  16. Karen Knegten says:

Jennifer- I just love your videos and your recommendations. One of my faves is Art Institute dries clear adhesive. I also use their little metal tip. This is great for glitter or gluing itty bitty items. I use it all the time for most things, even paper and the 4 oz. bottle lasts a super long time.

  17. Billie says:

Great video and do love the corner chopper I have it and use it a lot. My favorite thing is making your own template, I made one for my clouds, I take an old x-ray (clean it with bleach and water to make it a clear film) and cut it about 6 inches long and maybe 3 inches deep and just draw along the long end some nice rounded humps and groves and then cut it out to make it a cloud template, then when I use it I just lay it on the card stock and use the finger dobber or sponge and tap into blue ink and work from the x-ray out to lightly tint the sky area moving the template around to give a great cloud look. You can see samples of clouds on my cards on my blog. http://www.stampinwithinkonmyfingers.blogspot.com Love your site you tempts me in so many ways. Love your recommendations thanks.

  18. Thank you for sharing. I would love to win the name stamp. How do you come up with these great ideas?

  26. Barb in CA says:

Hi: Enjoyed the video — thanks. I would recommend a new snack that’s easy to eat while crafting: oven baked non-greasy PUFFCORN — no hulls or hard kernels. Comes in several flavors but butter is for me. It just hit the markets in CA so this may not be new in other areas.

  27. Paula says:

Loved your video. It was very informative. The project was great too. I have to recommend “Ace Of Cakes” on the Food Network. What a creative group of people, and the all have so much fun at work.

  28. Mary says:

Hello! I would DEFINETELY reccomend the movie Dear John. It’s very sad, surprising, and good. I would love to hear your opinion on it! Also, I recently recieved a new treat! (Close to my Heart, IRRESISTABLES, lots of dots, adhesive sheets) They are so cool! They are just two sheets of tiny sticker letters. You can apply markers, chalk ink, or any ink. It’s a great way to get the exact design you want on a card or scrapbook page. All you have to do it draw it. I hope you will try these, they are amazing!

  29. Nena says:

I would recommend an outstanding product called the Teflon bone folder.
I LOVE it!! It doesn’t make the paper shiny or scratch it in any way.
I have found this for sale at Ellen Hutson. Thank you for the candy offer!

  30. D says:

That photo makes me all flakempt- how precious. Thanks for all you do – I learn so much from your videos! You are truly one of God’s children.

  31. D says:

oooooooooh – fun to read! Wonder what it means!

  32. Alyce says:

Great project! I received the corner chomper from my daughter and son-in-law for Christmas and I love it.
I would like to recommend an adhesive. I love Zip Dry Paper Glue. It allows you to move your piece if you it isn’t placed correctly the first time. Any glue that ends up where you don’t want it can be rubbed off of the paper. It doesn’t wrinkle your paper. Pieces stay together when I use this glue. I’ve received cards from people that obviously put a lot of time in making them. But layers come apart because of the adhesive they used.
Thanks for the opportunity to win the personalized stamp.

  33. Linda Peterson says:

The Blind Side is my very favorite movie of all times. Everyone has to see it. One of my friends (also she is a neighbor) has taken in a 16 year old boy from Mexico—-he and his extended family got burned out of their apartment building. She and her husband are trying to get custody of him and will finish raising him as their own–he will have all of the same opportunities as their 16 year old twin daughters. I told her she reminds me of The Blind Side.

  34. I recommend a meal replacement bar called Luna bar. The caramel nut brownie is to die for. They aren’t cheap but so quick to grab and yummmmmy!

  35. scrapbookmary says:

Hey Jennifer! Would love a personal stamp! My recommendation is St. Elmo’s Steak House in downtown Indianapolis. The best shrimp cocktail ever!!! Really!!! You are served huge shrimp with the tangiest, spiciest horseradish dip ever and it is FANTABULOUS delicious! Thanks for all of the fun ideas and creativity!

  36. Brenda says:

I am new to all of this blogging! Actually this is the first time I have ever left a comment on one. But I want you to know that I have learned so much from you. You have such a gift of not just making something beautiful but your presentation just draws me in. I really do appreciate all you share with us. I really don’t have anything new that I could tell you that you don’t already know…but I do thank our Heavenly Father for the gifts and talents that he bestows on all of you creative ladies out there – especially you – Jennifer!
    Thank you…thank you!

  37. Janet L. says:

If you haven’t seen Il Divo on YouTube doing Amazing Grace, you’ve got to go watch it. Favorite movie of all time… Chariots of Fire… an oldie but goodie!

  38. Ann Cox says:

I recommend reading “Range of Motion” by Elizabeth Berg. It’ll make you both laugh & cry, and reaffirm love and life!

  39. Marge Bernard says:

Beautiful , beautiful. Learned so much. I was asking about misting with perfect pearls today at my scrapbook store. I wonder, have you ever used resin with any of your projects? Some of your ideas would make great jewelry.

  40. Mary says:

I am pretty new to your blog, but I enjoy your work! I just read Mitch Albom’s new book… have a little faith. It was quite good! Can’t wait to read back through all of these comments and see what I’ve been missing…

  43. Dana C. says:

Okay Jennifer I thought that I would share something that has touched my heart and made me cry. I know that for all of us life can throw us some curve balls and sometimes dissappointments come our way, and for those who serve Christ, we know that it helps to create character and preserverence in us. But when he comes through and shows us that He is always faithful it is a wonderful reminder that He is always with us. This week has been a difficult week and tonight me and my 11 ds sat and watched a movie called “Faith Like Potatoes” A marvelous movie that will make you cry but will inspire and challenge you like no other. So my thing to recommend is this great movie. Yes, it is a Christian movie, but it is for anyone and everyone! Hope that you give it a look-see if you haven’t already! Blessings

  44. Love your tutorial on the new stamps…….got to get them….my recommendation is Sara Paylin book…..it is really good……thank you

  45. Cassi says:

One of my new favorites is Fiber One Pancake Mix: delicious, quick, and good for you.

  48. Kim L. says:

I recommend audiobooks! Before a few months ago, I had never read or seen ANY of the Harry Potter books/movies. But I listened to every Harry Potter audiobook and loved them (the reader, Jim Dale was excellent)! I have a long commute, so for once, it was a pleasure driving to work. After that, I listened to several Nicholas Sparks books also – they were a little sappy for my taste, but still fun to listen to.

  49. Kris Reeves says:

I have just recently found your blog and am loving everything I see! And learning soooooo much! I’d love to share with you the software I use with my Cricut Expressions die cutting machine… the software is Make The Cut! It is FABULOUS for cutting out practically any shape needed you’ll ever use for home decor or my “thing” cards! I can’t wait to delve even more into your work! Thanks for the giveaway!
