Video: New Distress Inks – Pearlized Paper… and GIVEAWAY!

Happy Sunday.  I have a video, cool deal and giveaway today.  First, the video…

I have been wanting to do something with this favorite photo of mine and decided it was time.  The project is very simple, but I figured I would film it so you could see all the new Distress Inks in action.  I used them all in here and they are delicious.  Truly.  (The video shows many other tips.)

Supplies: All 12 new Distress Inks – coming soon; Perfect Pearls Perfect Pearl color; Mini Mister; Silhouette (to cut title); Corner Chomper; Heart Punch from EK Success; Tombow Mono Dot Permanent Adhesive; EK Success 3-D Dots foam dots; Silhouette.

BTW, the punch in this video is wonderful – the little heart on the inside is just perfect.  (It seems to be hard to find, but it is in stock HERE.)

I also saw that the might Corner Chomper is in stock again HERE.  Yes, you do need to have this.  Trust me. 🙂

150565_1000x1000 I also have been getting lots of questions about the new adhesive I love.  Be very careful – many of the Tombow adhesives look alike and have similar names.  But there is only one perfect one.  🙂  THIS is it.  (I show it in the video.)

Now… on to the cool offer and giveaway…

The other day, I shared my very-loved personalized stamp for putting on the back of cards.  It turns out a few of you went over and ordered one of your own, so the seller, Karissa of Kiss and Tell Cards, contacted me.  Turns out she is a big sweetheart and is offering 10% off stamp orders through the end of February if you mention “Jennifer McGuire, Ink.”   AND!  She said I could do a few giveaways.  WOOHOO!  So, I am going to do one today.  (Thanks, Karissa!  You know I will be ordering more. 🙂

So, for a chance to win a personalized stamp of your own, just leave a comment here by Wednesday at 11:59pmEST recommending something to me.  (Movies, product, blog… anything.)  I will then pick a winner who will get to choose from these stamp designs from Kiss and Tell Cards...

I will be giving a couple more of these stamps away in the next week.  I just love them.

Have a great day.

  1. I just realized that I did not have my name! I just finished the PBS MasterPiece Theatre mini series Emma…it was really good!

  2. Hey Jennifer! Thank you so much for the chance to win this beautiful little product! I really love it. I’d surely recommend to you and to everyone else the documentary EPICENTRE by Rosenberg, concerning the Middle East. Thanks again for the wonderful opportunity to have my own stamp!

  3. Hi Jennifer- Thanks for another great post! My favorite part of my day is getting your blog update in my inbox….it comes just as I’m about to head out of the office so it’s the perfect way to wind down. 🙂 I can’t really think of anything I could recommend craft-wise that you wouldn’t already know, so instead I’d love to suggest the book I just finished: The Help, by Kathryn Stockett. I could not put it down. And I second the vote for Water for Elephants–that was another fantastic read! Thanks for a chance to win and have a fabulous week!

  4. Jennifer – I recently found your blog and after today I am hooked! I love the video. So super cute! I know I’ll be back here checking out your blog.
As for a recommendation, I love Michael Stars clothing. They really are a one-size fits all. (I wore some of my shirts until I was 8 months pregnant and after one wash they fit me again, after I lost the baby weight.) I couldn’t live with out them. The t-shirts are more expensive that you’d usually pay, but the really hold up after many washes and look great! They are a must have in my Mommy wardrobe.

  5. Thanks for the chance to win an awesome stamp! I would like to recommend the blog since it’s full of delicious inspiration…enjoy!!

  6. Hi
I don’t know how I would ever be able to work without my chomper, I chomp everything in sight! I just recently found a bottle of Tombow and I agree, it is a GREAT glue!
I am soooo envious of all the ladies who live in the UK and USA, because they have such a variety of things to use on scrapbooking and cards! I can’t tell you ANYTHING that you don’t already know about crafting, you are a MASTER at that. I would recommend a nail polish OPI or Essie, I just love, love, love the quality of the nail polish.
Thank you for giving us a chance to win an amazing stamp!

  7. Hi Jennyfer! I would like to recommend you(no, invite you!) to come visiting us in Kazakhstan! It’s post Soviet Union, but also Central Asia. We would love to see you here with your classes! But also you can share your testimony, or why you believer. Because we have a few churches here and people need spiritual encouragment.

And second thing I would recommend is Simple Stories, It’s a new system to scrapbook. I like it.

  8. Love watching your videos & seeing you use the distressing inks, my new favorite product. I went to see Dear John on the opening night, go see it . . . it has a better ending than the book 🙂

  9. Jennifer,
You always have such professional and beautiful cards! I just love looking at them. I would like to make them all if I could. I would be so excited to win the Kiss and Tell personalized stamps. Not only would they be great on mail, but on heritage scrapbook pages, and to personalize items. Thanks for the opportunity to win it!

  10. I hope you read this far! My favorite feel-good book: Standing in the Rainbow, bu Fannie Flagg, the actress and author of Fried Green Tomatoes (which is nothing like this book.) I have given copies of the book, the tapes, and CDs, and without exception, everyone’s loved it. I thought it would not be the kind of book I would like, but I have listened to it twice and I smile just thinking about it! I always tell people to just read the first 100 pages on faith, even if they don’t think they would like it either. It’s a gentle book, but you won’t be able to stop reading, I promise.

  11. How generous of you – this is amazing!
One little recommendation is actually a fun one: Waltzingmouse Stamps
( Claire is a fresh and innovative designer with her own new little company of great stamp designs. She has several inspiring stamp themes that can be used in just so many ways. I absolutely love her designs as they are of the highest quality (made in the US), stamp perfectly every time and are gorgeous to both look at and to use.
I urge you to give her a try- you will fall in love, too I’m sure!

  12. Great video, thanks for sharing!! I thought I wouldn’t need to buy more distress inks, I lready have all the old colours… but now I know I need some more *lol*
Also, it is lovely of you to give away the chance for a super personalized stamp, so generous!
As for recommending something… I feel there isn’t much in the craft world I could recommend that you don’t know already (although I LOVE my Dries Clear Adhesive from Art Glitter with the fine metal tip) so I thought I recommend something else. Something I only discovered recently but absolutely cannot live without now! I am sure you are familiar with the pioneer woman, Ree Drummond. I live in the UK and had only heard about her recently through Nichole Headys and Dawn McVeys blog. I went to have a look and I just LOOOOVE this chocolate cake: Try it and prepare to be addicted heehee 🙂

  13. Jennifer -your videos are THE BEST. Thanks so much for the tip about making the ist from the perfect pearls! Would never have known you could do this! Thanks SO much for all of the inspiration!

  14. I have been using the Microfine Glitter (from Glitter Ritz) with Sookwang tape (otherwise known as Scor-pal tape) which gives fabulous results. The glitter is so fine that once applied onto the tape, you can’t feel the texture, it feels like the paper surface! And the colours that are available are astounding as well as ultrafine crystal clear glitter.

  15. Love a chance to win! I enjoy your blog. My product recommendation is Stamp It! double sided tape ( I have used it for years and it surely outlasts some mono products.

  16. Wow, what a cool prize and generous offer from Karissa! I’ve been dreaming about a personalized stamp for a while – hers are great!!

Jennifer, your work is so wonderful! It always inspires me and reminds me why I love papercrafting so much! Thank you so much for your wonderful blog and for sharing your ideas.

I would recommend the movie 500 Days of Summer. It’s a cute little love story with lots of good music.

  17. Jennifer, love what you are doing and I thankyou for all the inspiration. I’ve just finished reading “The Help” and would recommend this to anyone.

  18. I love my corner chomper, too! I find your work so inspiring. Hmmm a recommendation is to have netflix on your computer so that these huge snow days we have been having are fun and no trek to the movie store! It saved me!! Also, I am becoming addicted to the Michaels dollar bins, cool finds for kids and me too–dollar chipboard albums are my excitement!

  19. WOW !!!!!!!!! Love the new distress ink. Can”t wait for your next video. KEEP THEM COMING. Thanks for all the great info.

  20. I recommend the book The Help, (it is a GREAT story!!) and the songs on itunes that support the releif efforts in Haiti — they are from the telethon and several are excellent.

  21. I’ve been going crazy looking for the ‘perfect’ glue and I have to recommend the Glue Glider with the hi-tack cartridge. Sometimes Hobby Lobby has them on sale or save that coupon and buy it.
I’ve been using it for a few months now and I love it.

thanks for a chance to win something.

    Debbie Reaves

  22. My favorite tool is my tape gun (Scotch-ATG-714), howver, I have been looking a tthe corner chomper as I want to incorporate more chipboard into my crafting… the giveaway as well.

  23. Hey Jennifer thanks for another great video, I use the Tombow adhesive dots and have the corner chomper (love both), my recomendation for you would be the movie Pride and Prejudice (I love this movie!!!!). Thanks for the chance to win.

  24. How can I possibly recommend a craft item to you- you have everything! One thing I do like that I haven’t seen you use is the quikstik pick up tool from quikutz. It has that gummy poster tack in a tiny ball that is great for picking up tiny hearts and pieces from die cuts. I use it daily. Love your blog, love your work. Amy

  25. Hi Jennifer, I just love your videos – and I have to get those new distress inks as soon as they appear in the stores! I will also be making that pearlized water today – the look is beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing all your cool tips and tools! I would love to get one of the stamps as well!! Maureen

  26. My recommendation is the “Pioneer Woman” cookbook. My cousin gave it to me for Christmas- I just LOVE it! The chocolate sheet cake is amazing and easy! She has a lot of great recipes on her website as well.

  27. It’s always great hearing what your have to say on products. I have been trying to come up with something and I guess I’ll go with– and the Blackberry Pie 1. This pie has always turned out super good stirring the sugar and flour into the berries until the white is gone as one review says.

  28. Hmmmm….I could point you in a million directions as far as blogs go but I’m sure you’ve seen them all. So…let me tell you about a movie. Keep in mind that I don’t get to go to the movies often so this one has been out for a while. Go see Avatar 3-D!!!! It’s one of those things that you’re sure you wouldn’t like and probably think…I’ve seen 3-D movies before and they’re not really that cool….NOT TRUE!!! This one has truly surpassed all 3-D technology and is a MUST SEE!!! Not to mention…the colors are pretty inspiring as well! Thanks for the chance to win some of those CUTE personalized stamps :0)

  29. Thanks for the video tutorial! I have some perfect pearls I purchased a LONG time ago and never use because lack of ideas. And you have enabled me on several of the distressed ink pads. This project is perfect and I plan to make it! Did you mention in the video what font you used to cut the word “grateful”?

The last book I read was my sister’s keeper. Great book! I didn’t enjoy the movie as much but read it! And Old Navy has some cute summer bags for $12.50, I got my girlfriends some striped pink ones for V-day and attached some handmade fabric flowers to them 🙂

  30. Hi Jennifer, once again your video has inspired me and I’m going to my scrap room right after posting this. We have a snow day today so scrapping is a perfect way to spend the time.

I’m currently reading “The Last Time I Was Me” by Cathy Lamb. It’s very entertaining and lite after my stressful days at work. Waiting to be read on my shelf are two books by Katrina Kenison, “The Gift of an Ordinary Day” and “Mitten Strings for God”, both about motherhood.

Looking forward to getting the new distress inks. The colors are beautiful!

  31. Hi Jennifer I just love coming to your site and seeing all the great videos and posts you have. I checked out the stamps but I couldn’t afford them, so I would really love to win one. As far as recommendations… I really like the tv series Dexter. Another good series (but this one is only available on DVD, though) is called The Wire. It is not very well known and I think there are only 4 seasons. It is very good.

  32. I would love to recommend any of the books written by Francine Rivers. Her books are phenomenal. Thanks for your wonderful work – you are a great inspiration.

  33. I love your framed art!! That photo is so beautiful!! Thanks for the video on the new distress ink colors. I have preordered mine and am just waiting… As for a recommendation… I am not sure how much time you have for cooking but I use whenever I want something different. They have viewer rated recipes that are really delicious!! Give it a try!
