Video: New Distress Inks – Pearlized Paper… and GIVEAWAY!

Happy Sunday.  I have a video, cool deal and giveaway today.  First, the video…

I have been wanting to do something with this favorite photo of mine and decided it was time.  The project is very simple, but I figured I would film it so you could see all the new Distress Inks in action.  I used them all in here and they are delicious.  Truly.  (The video shows many other tips.)

Supplies: All 12 new Distress Inks – coming soon; Perfect Pearls Perfect Pearl color; Mini Mister; Silhouette (to cut title); Corner Chomper; Heart Punch from EK Success; Tombow Mono Dot Permanent Adhesive; EK Success 3-D Dots foam dots; Silhouette.

BTW, the punch in this video is wonderful – the little heart on the inside is just perfect.  (It seems to be hard to find, but it is in stock HERE.)

I also saw that the might Corner Chomper is in stock again HERE.  Yes, you do need to have this.  Trust me. 🙂

150565_1000x1000 I also have been getting lots of questions about the new adhesive I love.  Be very careful – many of the Tombow adhesives look alike and have similar names.  But there is only one perfect one.  🙂  THIS is it.  (I show it in the video.)

Now… on to the cool offer and giveaway…

The other day, I shared my very-loved personalized stamp for putting on the back of cards.  It turns out a few of you went over and ordered one of your own, so the seller, Karissa of Kiss and Tell Cards, contacted me.  Turns out she is a big sweetheart and is offering 10% off stamp orders through the end of February if you mention “Jennifer McGuire, Ink.”   AND!  She said I could do a few giveaways.  WOOHOO!  So, I am going to do one today.  (Thanks, Karissa!  You know I will be ordering more. 🙂

So, for a chance to win a personalized stamp of your own, just leave a comment here by Wednesday at 11:59pmEST recommending something to me.  (Movies, product, blog… anything.)  I will then pick a winner who will get to choose from these stamp designs from Kiss and Tell Cards...

I will be giving a couple more of these stamps away in the next week.  I just love them.

Have a great day.

Thoses new Distress Ink colors are gorgeous!!!! I can’t wait to use them!!! I probably can’t recommend anything that you haven’t hear of before, but the one that I think you might like is Flower Soft. It can be used in very small amounts but gives a project depth and a really nice softness. Adding it to the Hero Arts “Silhouette Grass Wood Mounted Stamp” comes to mind. Here’s the website Thank you for all the generous giveaways too – those custom stamps look awesome!! Dolly 🙂

  4. Hi Jennifer,

    I have a “green” and money-saving recommendation 🙂

For a long time I used adhesive dots to pop things off my cards. One day I ran out and didn’t have time to go to the store for more. I ended up cutting 1 inch wide by 1 inch long strips of heavy scrap card stock from my recycle bin and then folded them in half. I glued these on the back of what I wanted to pop on my card with the folded edge facing to the outside. It works great! The other thing about this is, if you are putting it in the mail, it will lay flat inside an envelope so you don’t have to pay extra postage! Give it a try next time you need to “pop” something 🙂

Thanks for all the inspiration you give us. Your videos are so informative and fun to watch!

  8. I love what you did with the hearts, it’s beautiful with your picture. I really learn something new almost every time I visit your blob. You are soooo creative. As for something to share with you…I really enjoyed the latest copy of “tips & tricks” from Creating Keepsakes. It is stuffed full of great ideas for organizing your supplies. Sometimes I think I enjoy organizing my supplies as much as I do creating cards and scrap pages. Thanks for the chance to win a great stamp.

  9. Thanks for the adhesive suggestion! I’m so sad that mine is no longer available. I searched high and low for something that worked well for a lefty and thought I had the one, but now I’m off trying out new. I’ll have to check yours out!

  10. I have been trying to decide if I should buy a corner chomper and you sealed the deal. Thanks! As for suggestions, if you are a reader, I recommend The Help. A friend of mine recently suggested the show, “Damages” with Glen Close. It is pretty intense but very well written with excellent acting. I caught up with the plot line by watching Season one on

  11. You never cease to amaze me. I always look at your blog to start off my morning! I hope to win, but I will just settle for the great ideas!

  12. I have to recommend the Glee soundtrack … it makes me happy during some nasty traffic and is fun to sing along to (and annoy my kids)!

  13. Thanks for sharing your video, I have one of those corner chompers on my birthday list……I hear they cut through quite thick board….Hope my DH sees this and gets the hint

  14. A couple of favorites…My family’s favorite fast food (for those busy days) is from Chipotle – awesome burritos and they use organic, hormone free meats and dairy. Another favorite is my Kindle from Amazon. The most used gift I have ever received – Love it. A favorite new TV show is The Good Wife (CBS)…we also love Criminal Minds and The Office.

  15. Thanks for the opportunity. I have seen that punch before but would not have thought to use like you did. Now I have to go out and buy it!

  16. My favorite blog to read right now is The Pioneer Woman. You might already know about her, but if not thought I’d pass along the info…it’ll make any city girl wish they lived the rancher’s life. 🙂

    Love the personalized stamps!

  19. Ok so I already made a comment, but here is a recommendation: the Heart Punch from EK Success is on amazon for only 7.00 and yes I just ordered one! Your site is dangerous, making me want all sorts of stuff! 🙂

  20. Hi, I recommend you come to Michigan and teach us what you know. I’d love to win one of those stamps!

  21. Love your framed piece! I agree with someone else that said “Castle” is great! I also highly recommend “Cookie Dough Pop Tarts” as a tasty Midnight snack–They come out of the toaster like fresh, warm cookies all gooey inside. 🙂

  22. Wooo hooo! Came here for the video and found a giveaway, too! Would love to win!

Now to go back and watch the video.

    Thanks for all you do!

  23. Oops! Forgot to leave my recommendation a couple minutes ago….

I also highly recommend the Corner Chomper, and have you seen the other corner designs available in the Corner Chomper? Don’t know that I’d use most of them enough to justify the expense, but they’re pretty neat!

  24. Wow, I don’t know what I would recommend to the master of paper crafts. Oh, how ’bout Avojuice hand lotion. I keep this on my craft desk and use it each time I sit down. Love it!

  25. I’m so in love with your stamp! I’m going to order one if I don’t win one 🙂 I recommend reading “Kite Runner” if you haven’t already. It’s an amazing, emotional book. Thanks for the chance to win!

  26. If you are ever in Pittsburgh you should stop and see Stamp Fanci!! The owner is great and she was the one who told me about you : ) And I am loving your blog! Thanks for sharing so much great stuff!

  27. Hi Jennifer,

I just recently discovered your blog and now keep coming back to get inspired. I absolutely love these stamps! Thanks for the giveaway.

My recommendations: I love using the sketch pens with my Silhouette. I made a bunch of Christmas cards simply using those and then coloring the images with Prismacolor pencils. I think flowers come out nicely, too.

As for books, I recently read “A reliable wife” and absolutely loved it.

  28. I love your demonstrations, Jennifer! You are such an inspiration. Thanks for offering this amazing give-away, even if I live “down under” in New Zealand…!

  29. Just to let you know – Michaels carries the heart punch. I’m in Alabama (the Birmingham area) and we have it. It’s on my list to purchase very soon!!

  30. If you haven’t seen the movie should see it…in 3D…I didn’t think I’d like it..but my husband and I went last weekend…someting we never do is go to the movies…and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

  31. I just saw the movie Blind Side. Great movie, you have to see it. Thanks for sharing all of your ideas. Love the new colors in distress inks.

  32. I had to go and order one, of course. I have been needing something for the back of my cards and such.

That being said, it doesn’t hurt to win one as well! It would make a lovely gift.

  33. I have a tendency to get bored watching videos and rarely watch them all the way to the end.But I loved your photo with the heart mat. So I forced myself to start the video and I actually loved it! It was filled with great ideas and techniques that I had to take notes while I watched to the very end! Thanks for the great video.

One suggestion I have is: When I cut out words and letters on my Silhouette, I run them through the appropriate sized Xyron afterwards to get the adhesive more evenly applied on the back to get a more consistently attached embellishment. Then just a little glue cleanup afterwards. For other projects I do love the Tombow adhesive runners.

Also, where do we mail the cards for kids?

    Thanks for the opportunity to
