Q&A & Share

Hey, folks.

I have been slowly getting through email after my trips and such.  I have received a few questions I thought I would answer here. So, it's a Q&A day! 🙂

Before I do, I have a few housekeeping things.  If you have emailed me and I haven't responded, please do so again.  I accidentally deleted several emails – I am so sorry.  I boogered my inbox up big time.  Argh.  I know of one important email I deleted.  There was a gal I was going to send a clear set to that I had an extra of – if that was you, could you please email me?  Thanks!

OK… let's get going. 🙂

Q: How do you Cuttlebug a notecard and envelope?
A: I get a lot of questions on this one – I will do a video in a few days.  Already shot it, just need to load it.  Stay tuned…

Q: Do you still have your brother-in-law's CDs still available for purchase?
A: I do still have some.  Just email me. 🙂

Q: I am new to blogs.  How do I "leave a comment" in order to try to win one of your giveaways?
A: It is really easy.  At the end of this post, there is little gray writing saying, "Posted on…"  After that it says "Comments (#)" in green, I believe.  Just click this – the word "Comments."  Scroll down past others' comments and there is a place to write your message.  Very easy. 🙂

Q: I have noticed you haven't done many videos lately.  Will you be doing more?  And how do I subscribe to get notices when videos go up?
A: YES… I will be doing more videos.  I love doing them.  I just was on vacation then away at a show.  But I have 3 ready to go – so I will be sharing soon.  Keep in mind that I also do videos for Hero Arts and Twopeasinabucket.  I would recommend subscribing to all three of these YouTubes so you get notice when a new video is up.  It's easy to do.  Just go to the links below and click the big "subcribe" button near the top…

  • To suscribe to jennifermcguireink videos, click HERE.
  • To suscribe to heroarts videos, click HERE.
  • To suscribe to twopeasinabucket videos, click HERE.

Q: Where do you get the soft ribbon you use?
A:  Ah, the famous silk ribbon that I adore so much. :)  It is from Creative Impressions.  You can get it from them HERE.  I know you can also get it HERE.  I can't recommend one color over another – they are all really good.  Really.  You must. Have. All. 🙂

Q: How do you create the photo collages you use so often on layouts?  Is it one collage printed together and added to the layout, or is it a bunch of little photos cut and adhered together?
A:  Usually I just do one big collage on the computer and print it together.  It is much easier that way!  And I did a video tutorial on creating these collages… see HERE.  It should help!

OK… onto a bit of sharing.

This was a layout from long ago – CK March 2008.  The scan isn't that great… sorry about that.  This is an example of a photo collage I created on PS and printed. I promise it is easy. 🙂

OK… off to get ready for my blog week on Hero tomorrow.  I am so excited… more than I have ever been for a Hero blog week.  Hope you can check it out!

Night. 🙂

  1. Hi Jennifer,
Love your ideas – how do you scan in your 12×12 layouts using an 8.5×11 scanner? I’d like to scan my layouts (b/c I’m paranoid that something may to happen to my scrapbooks and then all my hard work would be gone…)
    Have a great week!

  2. Thank you for a wonderful Q & A post! Lots of *luverly* information there! Only one more sleep and then off to the HA blog tomorrow – woohooo!

  3. OH MY GOD, JENNIFER!! You taught me something new! And I am PSE challenged, trust me, LOL.
    But hey, I did it!
I’m going to make these for my son’s 3rd Birthday party announcements! Thanks!!

  4. Jennifer,
So glad you posted that old layout using the rubons from the travel kit/album. I haven’t traveled anywhere in a while, but love that kit and now I have your “permission” to use part of the kit on layout.
I must warn you, I do intend to scraplift that LO! Love it!

    Thanks!

  7. This is one on my Favorite Layouts!!!! I have this posted into my inspiration journal and have used it several times….I wish I had those stamps to go with it….oh well one day…

  8. OHHH – that LO is right up my alley, Jen! I’m late for Q&A day, but will you tell me about your white/opaque ink? I Love the look on your LO’s but can never seem to duplicate it. Is it white embossing powder over white ink or just a reallllly good white ink?

Hope you’re enjoying our warm weather lately! My boys have been going wild outside!

  9. My most memorable birthday was my 5th SURPRISE birthday party. My mom had all the kids hide in our hallway with the door shut, and when I openned it, there they were. I loved to hang out with my dad in the barn, and that is where I was that day. I was very upset when she made me come in,. Good ole memories. Becky

  10. Hi Jennifer! I’m so glad that I found your blog! You are my all time favorite scrapbooker, so I love seeing new ideas all of the time. For my favorite birthday memory, I will pick my last b-day {I turned 31}. It’s my favorite because I was pregnant with my daughter Mallory and so excited about it. 🙂
