Gotta turn this day around with a giveaway…

Boy.

Bad day.  The hard drive died on my baby.  Boogers.  I love love love my MacBook Pro.  Love it.  But I attract bad luck with stuff like this.  Thankfully, Apple has the best customer service in the world and they are saving me.  Will get the hard drive replaced tomorrow.  Thank goodness!

But since that occupied my day, I didn't get any creating done.  So let's do a giveaway instead. :)  This RAK is for a copy of the Designing With Recipe book…

Just leave a comment here by Friday night at 11:59pmPST telling me what your favorite new scrapbooking goodie is.  I feel like I haven't bought anything new in ages and need to do a bit of online shopping. Nothing is better than retail therapy, huh? 🙂

Oh, and please go backup your computer.  🙂

Sorry about your computer. I would be rather lost without mine too. You are going to think this sounds silly, but right now my fave scrapbook “stuff” is albums. I’m reorganizing and I can’t get enough of the We R Memory 3 ring albums! Hope you have a better ending to your week!

  2. Mae says:

I love watching your videos…totally enjoying the cool ideas.

My new favorite is Tim’s grungeboards.

  3. Ali says:

Thanks for the back-up reminder! I love Prima’s Dude line right now – so cool.

  4. Tami H says:

Oh no…hugs Jennifer! What a bummer but I’m glad Apple is treating you so well. I have three favorite things right now, and two of them you, Miss Enabler, have had a direct influence in, ha! 😉 1) Cuttlebug 2) Hero stamps 3) Martha Stewart scallop border punch. Have a great Friday…cheers to healthy hard drives! 🙂

Sorry to hear about your computer. I don’t back things up as often as I should…I would be devastated if I lost my pics of my son.

I would have to say my favorite new “toy” would have to be my BasicGrey Magnetic Precision Matt Kit. It makes laying out your design so much easier.

Nestabilities….need I say more. Several years back, I looked high and low for scrap punches and dies the nest inside each other – specifically ovals. There all kinds of ovals out there, but very few nest. I applaud the geneous who stepped up and designed Nestabilities. I love them. They only make common sense.

  7. Leslie Murphy says:

I love your blog! Thanks for sharing all these wonderfully creative ideas.

My new favorite goody would have to be American Crafts thickers and the Cuttlebug. I received it for Christmas and was just using it for my quickutz dies until last week when I gave the embossing folders a try! LOVE THEM!

    Have a great weekend.

Here’s to hoping you didn’t lose to much stuff. My computer nerd of a husband backs up our network weekly, major thanks to him!

My new favorite thing to play with is all the new edges on paper. I usually end up cutting them off and sneaking them all over my layouts.

  9. Stacy says:

    Hi Jenn,

I hope today is a better day! My favourite product that I use almost all the time are the rubons from Melissa Frances! She has soooo many great ones for all occasions (including cute boy ones which are hard to find). They go onto everything! They are the best rubons I have ever uses and always work without lots of rubbing – which I find with some other products and you end up ruining a page. If you haven’t tried them give them a shot! They have great sentiments for cards too. Thanks for the great RAK!

  10. Ruth Allmart says:

So sorry to hear about your hard drive, that bites! I just got (yesterday actually) Stampin’Ups Stampin’ Stack & Store to hold all my embellies. It rocks! I hope your day gets better :o)

  11. Debra E says:

I’m just getting started with digital scrapbooking, so I’d have to say that digital kits are IT for me these days. Now if there was just an *easy* way to learn PSE.

  12. Laura T. says:

There are so many great new products out there right now, but the things I keep grabbing for are the American Crafts Thicker letters —- love them ALL.

  13. Sasha J Nygaard says:

Sorry to hear that your Macbook is feeling sad – I’m backing up tonight for sure! My favorite new things have been the Sassafrass Lass patterned papers with the fancy edges – love those! That looks like a great book – thanks for doing a RAK. Have a great Friday!

Hey Jenn, I told my hubby that our next computer is gonna be a Mac, and by the looks of it, that won’t be that far off in the future!
My favorite new scrappin’ goodie, would have to be Tim Holtz’s grungeboard. I know it’s not as new in the states as it is here in Canada, but I finally got my mitts on some last month or so, and love love love it! And the MM noteworthy line too. Awesome.

  15. Valerie says:

My favorite new scapbooking goodie is a pack of Bazzill Bling cardstock. I just love the colours!

  16. Linda J says:

Sorry about your hard drive – thanks for turning your lemons into lemonade for us:) My favorite item right now is a new paper cutter that my DH gave me for Mother’s Day.

  17. Liz says:

My new scrapbooking tool is PageMaps by Becky Fleck. I just got it last week and have done 3 pages from it so far. Love it!

  18. Cindy says:

Sorry to hear about your computer–that is a bummer. I would have to say my favorite scrapbooking item right now is the clear stamps. The outcome is endless with them and there are so many different ones out there each time you go to the store.

  19. Kim R says:

I have two cool new things. My expression which I just love and use so much and my stamps that I recently got. I learned how to use them on printed paer to create a new look.( that was from your class). I have stamping everything and using my cricut to make letters and embellishments on everything. It really has been a money saver.

  20. Bibiana Lopez says:

    Hello Jennifer!

I’ve seen your work at CK, but I came upon your blog yesterday through a message board I frequent. Love your videos!! keep them coming.

My new favorite thing right now is Ice Stickles, this is not a new product but it’s new to me. I just started working with it and I love it. Also, I’m using “bling” on my pages.

Hope you can resolve your computer issues soon!

Thanks for the chance of winning that book!

  21. MAEGAN HALL says:

Ok, how weird is this, I was typing and my computer quit working. Doo-dee-doo-dee-doo-dee (twilight zone) lol!

    Ok, my post was:

I know is sounds lame, but my favorite goodie right now is K&CO embellished flowers. As a self proclaimed “I-make-my-own-embellies-because-I-can-and-I’m-on-a-budget” scrapbooker, I rarely buy anything fun, because I can make it myself, which is practical and cheaper. Well, recently I went to Archivers and searched the store for matching embellies for my in-progress page. It was so fun. It was so nice to buy something that was beautiful and already done for me. I was also pleased with the quality of how it was made and the adhesive backing on it actually worked. I hope you pick some, I haven’t seen you use much K&CO stuff. Maegan

  22. karen says:

I would have to say my favorites right now is my cuttlebug (can’t live without it) their embossing folders and my nestabilities. Hope your computer troubles are over and you have a great weekend. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  23. OUKELLI1142 says:

Hmmm I have so many favorites because all this blogging is giving me such good ideas to work from- I’m LOVING the scallop punch I just bought as well as the Doodlebug sugar glitters. They are so yummy and cheerful!

  24. Liz says:

I’m a simple scraper. All I need is a good sketch, great paper, letter stickers, and ribbon. So I guess the newest paper lines with coordinating ribbons and stickers are my favorite tools.

  25. Meredith says:

Computer problems drive me nuts! Fortunately, my hubby is good at fixing the small things. I keep reminding my self to back up our photos.

I am in love with Tim Holz’s Distress inks and ink refills. I’m slowly adding to my collection.

    Meredith

  26. Sandy says:

Jennifer, my favorite is the cuttlebug. I love the embossing. You can make cards quickly and they look nice.

  27. Candy says:

I’ll start off with telling you how sorry I am about your computer! We dont’ realize how much we use them and rely on them until they fail. Been there, done that! Good luck with getting your new one and recovering all your data! As far as scrapbooking tools, my current favs are my Cuttlebug and my new Martha Stewart zigzag border punch! Though, I have to admit they are both being used more for cards right now than scrapbooking!

  28. JosieK says:

So sorry to hear about your hard drive… that is the worst. But, happy to hear that all will be well very soon!
My favorite product right now is self-adhesive card stock. I use it for mattes behind pictures, die-cut images, etc…and all I have to do is peel off the back. It saves me a lot of money on adhesives.
Thanks for offering a great giveaway!

  29. deb says:

I have not done much shopping lately – bummer! Also must do some retail therapy! My current faves are the HA acetate cards and the gamsol… thanks to you and your class at SYAO!!! I really need some new ideas – taking all my scrapping supplies (okay not ALL – just the really cool stuff) with me on vacation & I would love to have that book!!! Thanks for all your cool ideas & giveaways! Hope your computer problems are fixed soon – that’s always a HUGE bummer!!!

  30. Lafs819 says:

I think my favorite tool right now are the scallop trims from Doodlebug or the ones you make yourself with a corner punch. They just add so much to a card or layout.

  31. amber m. says:

Sorry about your computer woes…hope today is a better day.

My new asolute favorite are Doodlebug Simply Sweet mini alphabet rub-ons in bon-bon. LOVE ’em. Use ’em on everything.

    Thanks for the RAK!

  32. StacyS. says:

    Hi Jennifer,
I’m really loving clear stamps, stickles, grungeboard and the crackle paint – all stuff I was scared to try and I love!
    StacyS. (Alberta, Canada)

  33. Alison says:

Just got the Cuttlebug and embossing folders, which doesn’t help you much since you have one already. Also just got the Doodlebug flocking powder – can’t wait to try it out!

  34. Tabitha K says:

What a bummer with your computer, I hate being without mine!

My fave new tool right now is definately my punches. I have bought 4 of the Fiskars border punches and a bunch of Martha Stewart punches lately to add to my collection. I forgot how qucik and easy they are to use! And my Fiskars snowflake border punch works great for all my pics from last winter!

  35. Shelly Giambattista says:

Narrow it done to one thing. Wow…that’s gonna be hard but I think MY favorite is my tempered glass mat. I can cut on it, heat emboss on it, soulder on it, paint on it, glue on it. I can do so many things on it without distroying my scrap table (or starting a fire). And with the little rubber feet on it, it stays put for those more “active” attempts at creativity.

  36. June Ferguson says:

    Hi Jennifer!
I think I would have to say that my favorite new “toy” is my Scor-Pal! I know it has been around awhile, but I just got mine and I love, love, love it! I use it on every card I make….it’s such a time-saver!
    Thanks,
    June

  37. Heidi says:

I am loving border punches. I totally passed on this trend the first time it was popular (6 years ago?) but I am really enjoying them now. Martha Stewart and Fiskars border punches are so adorable and fun.

  38. hanna L says:

that book looks awesome would love to win it!! my favorite things right now are the new CGD papers I love them and theresa collins die cut papers for making mini albums. I also really love all the MM mini die cut books so great for journaling and accents.

  39. Colleen says:

Oh no!! I’m soooo sorry to hear about your computer!! Hope you can get it fixed soon!

As for the goodies I’m enjoying, I just got some Hero Arts gemstones and some flocking from Stampendous and Doodlebug – sooo much fun!!

    Hope your day gets better!
    Cheers
    Colleen

  41. jamie v says:

Oh dear- computer ‘issues’ are no fun at all!!

I would absolutely LOVE a copy of that book 🙂

My new fave toy is my scalloped circle punch, followed by Bo bunny’s polkadot papers.

  42. tiffany* says:

Oh dear…Sorry to hear about that Jen. That’s great though that APple is so quick to replacing it..

My faves would have to be October Afternoon clear stamps or SEI’s DIll Blossom collection. It’s all so fresh, funky, and pretty! 😀

  43. Diana says:

So sorry about the computer issues.

The new thing I would like to have is the Passport Collection from Making Memories. Perfect for a travel journal.

  44. Carrie says:

Sorry about your computer. Sounds like you did do back-up though and great that you have a new hard drive on it’s way!

My favorite sort of new toy is my Cricut. I got it for Christmas 2006. I opened it and the cartridges I received and then never did anything with it. Strange. This spring, I decided to take it to a crop and I used it like crazy. Even did what you suggest and made cards from scrap paper. Ran them through the Cricut and created beautiful butterflies and flowers, etc.

Anyhow, enjoy playing on your Quikutz – these machines are amazing.

    Carrie

  45. Krissy says:

I’m so sorry about you losing your HD. I have an external HD that I back up to almost constantly, and DEFINITELY once a month. Apple service is GREAT though and I’m glad they are getting you taken care of….

My favorite thing has to be my ATG gun. I use it to glue down EVERYTHING.

Thanks for the change to win that awesome looking book!!

  46. Kristen says:

My latest favorite goodie is probably the really cute Hero Arts monkey stamp that I bought when I saw your cute birthday invitations here on your blog!!!

  47. michelle t. says:

I have recently discovered watercolor crayons and gesso and gel medium. Also I have been going nuts with the Basic Grey Boxer line, stamping on acrylic and painting with acrylic paints. And the Prima stamped flowers. Ok, I’ll stop now – and go back up my computer. I would love to get this book; that and Designing with Fabric are the only two I don’t have. I hope you didn’t lose anything irreplaceable on your hard drive.

  48. Erin Glee says:

I just got an H20 brush for painting Transparencies (IOD) with Alcohal Inks and Adirondak Blending Solution!
I don’t have a Cuttlebug yet, and that is at the top of my wishlist… I love all the things I’ve seen you do with it, and everyone RAVING about it and the embossing folders makes me want it even more!
Hope everything works out with your computer~fingers crossed~prayers said~backing up my stuff~HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

  49. Anne F. says:

Remember the days when a computer was a foreign object?? How did we live without them. My newest tool (although not new to anyone else) is my Cuttlebug…I am in heaven. I never used many di-cuts before, boy I did’nt know what I was missing. I love the embossing folders the most though.

    Enjoy your day….

    Anne

  50. Michelle says:

    Bummer about your Mac!

My favorite new scrapbook stuff is several new Cuttlebug embossing folders I picked up at JoAnn’s last weekend. Fun stuff!! Unfortunately, they were out of the Swiss Dot, which is the one I really wanted.
