Gotta turn this day around with a giveaway…

Bad day.  The hard drive died on my baby.  Boogers.  I love love love my MacBook Pro.  Love it.  But I attract bad luck with stuff like this.  Thankfully, Apple has the best customer service in the world and they are saving me.  Will get the hard drive replaced tomorrow.  Thank goodness!

But since that occupied my day, I didn't get any creating done.  So let's do a giveaway instead. :)  This RAK is for a copy of the Designing With Recipe book…

Just leave a comment here by Friday night at 11:59pmPST telling me what your favorite new scrapbooking goodie is.  I feel like I haven't bought anything new in ages and need to do a bit of online shopping. Nothing is better than retail therapy, huh? πŸ™‚

Oh, and please go backup your computer.  πŸ™‚

  9. My favorite scrapbook thing is usually the latest something that would normally go in the trash bin – like those canceled stamps, or that leftover gauze (unused, of course), or that piece of mesh. Maybe that plastic from the packaging. Oh! And that chipboard from the cereal box. Those pretty pictures from the magazine.

    I don’t buy much. LOL

  18. My favorite new goodies are the cuttlebug embossing folders. I was inspired by your tiny house card, so I did some research and learned how to use the folders with my sizzix machine. Thanks for planting the seed of inspiration.

Good luck with your new hard drive and thanks for the giveaway!

  19. My newest favourite scrapbooking purchase is a toss up between the hero arts gems, very cool, and the 12″ QK. I had being saving up for this for months and finally bought the platform and two dies, the scallops and dots. I feel your pain for losing your computer…my kids have given mine viruses 3 times causing me to lose everything. I now have an external hard drive. Good luck with yours.

  20. Nothing new lately, but i’m really wanting to try the Cuttlebug embossing folders you keep showing:)

Hope your computer is better soon!

  21. I too am sorry about your computer! I’ve been there a time or two myself.

My favorite new scrapbooking tool is actually my mom’s Cricket. Have you seen these things? I want one soooo bad!

  22. This really isn’t a “new” tool but I’m totally getting back into my chalk and my stamps. Using what I have!

  25. Sorry to hear you’re having a bad day… I’m in love with my scalloped circle punch and the Heidi Swapp felt butterflies and flowers!

  26. My new favorite scrapping tools are digital brushes. I love to grunge up a photo or add some feminine frills. They are definitely helping me get into the groove of the digital world. I think I could even be classified as a Hybrid-Scrapper. πŸ™‚ Love learning new things.

  27. What a bummer about your computer, it’s happened to us too!

My favorite thing to buy lately is letter sticker, like thickers, felt ones, so fun!!!

  28. My Basic Grey rub-on tool! It’s amazing, how did I ever get by without it?!? And, of course, my Purple Cows guillotine cutter, the best purchase I’ve ever made!

  29. Sorry to hear about your computer. After a similar experience, I learned the importance of backing up. Now, I go a little over board. I have a backup of my backup :-). I have 2 removable hard drives. One is at my house and the other I keep at my mom’s. Just in case :-).

As for new scrapbook toy, I just bought an ATC holder from 7Gypsies. It just arrived yesterday so I have not gotten a chance to use it, but I love all the stuff I’ve seen done with it so far. Can’t wait to play!

    Thanks for doing another giveaway!

  30. hmmm… so many products to play with so hard to have a favorite!

I love checking out ETSy shops for fun finds…

    Love the journaling things from
    Melette Berezowski’s shop
and everything from this shop called
sugar sugar…. just pure eye candy!

  31. While I’ve had my Cuttlebug for awhile now – my newest obsession is the Embossing Folders. I LOVE THEM I bought my first two weeks ago, and since then have bought two more. ! I keep looking for the Dots, but can’t find that one. YOu will probably hear my Whoop of Joy when I find that one.
I also tried to Mod Podge (thanks to your video earlier this week) THe results were a little less than desirable – but I will try again. If I get that down – you can add Mod Podge to my favs. Oh the money yet to be spent. πŸ™‚

  32. I know that this product isn’t ‘new’, but I LOVE the doodlebug paper frills that I got not too long ago! It’s a perfect little touch to add to a layout! :o)

  33. My favorite new scrapbooking goodie would have to be the Fiskars Threading Water punch. I love the scalloped edge look and now I can make it with any paper!!

Good luck with the hard drive – we are soooo dependent on our computers, aren’t we!

  34. Sorry to hear about your computer. Macs rule! I’m sure you’ll be back up and running real soon. My favorite new scrapbooking product is the new Fiskars border punch Threading Water. It’s a scallop border punch. Just love it. I was having a bad day yesterday, walked in my LSS and there it was. Felt much better after that. Of course, there were other favorites from yesterday’s retail therapy, but the punch was the best. Lisa πŸ™‚

  35. I love your blog Jennifer. I have to check it everyday. My favorite product right now is my wishblade. I love the endless possibilities of fonts and images. I don’t know how I lived without it.

  36. My favorite scrapbooking goodie is my Butterfly Punch from Martha Stewart. I was able to finally complete my butterfly collage! I am hoping to be able to use it for my cards & albums too!

Would love to win this book! So much inspiration…I need that sometimes!

  37. Sorry to read about your bad day…Apple does have great service though. As for my fave scrapbooking goodies, I love pompom trim and the Martha Stewart border punches. I have not purchased any type of embellies or papers for awhile but I have been using random things from around the house. For instance I made a minibook out of a vinyl placemat that I cut up and dyed with alcohol inks. I have also been cutting up old posters and maps as well as other bits of paper to make my own art journals and minibooks. What a sweet giveaway, I hope your weekend gets better!

  38. My new favorite toy is the Fiskars threading water border punch. Now I can cut my own scalloped cardstock & paper. I love the little hole in the scallops, too. Another one is the Marvy scalloped circle punch, also oval. I know they aren’t real new, but I’ve been seening a lot of layouts created with them lately, so I just ordered them this week.
Thanks for the fun techniques Jennifer. Sorry about the hard drive.

  39. Bummer about your Mac. My Mac is my other baby. πŸ™‚ Love all the Designing With…books. Have a good weekend!

  40. Hi Jennifer,
I hope you don’t lose anything, especially pictures! I am usually behind the times with the newest gadgets. Right now I am purchasing organizational stuff; cropper hopper vertical files and stuff. I’ve been also eyeing the Croc-a-bile(?) but none of my friends have it and I really don’t know if I’ll use it. Do you have one?

  41. So sorry to hear about your computer problems. Makes me a little nervous, though. We just switched from PC to Mac–both desktop and laptop.

My favorite scrapbooking goodies right now are two Stacy Julian books–Photo Freedom & Big Picture. My head is swirling w/all the new info but also w/all the great ideas I’m thinking of trying! Have a great weekend!
