I have lots to share, including big giveaways (see below) and even store discounts (some are exclusive!) from several of my favorite stores. I will be updating this list if more offers come in…

Let’s go! Today is all about ink.

  1. see mary stamp says:

I would say my favorite inks are the Distress Oxides mainly because they changed my confidence level with ink blending. I’ve bought a number of layering stamps lately and really like Altenew’s color families to use with those.

  2. Ann says:

Versamark ink is my favorite; I love heat embossing.

  3. Katie says:

Thank you for sharing all your experience with us! I’m pretty new to stamping and haven’t used many inks yet, but I’ve really enjoying using distress oxides so far.

  4. Deb Bryson says:

I always look forward to these videos, and really appreciate you doing them. Wow inks have just gone berserk the last few years which is awesome. I’m a demonstrator with stampin Up So my inks are stampin Up, but if I weren’t I think I’d probably go with altenew. I haven’t used them but I just love their colors in the way the color families work together. I am finally starting to get some distress oxide inks. I love the way that they blend together of course how they oxidize with water. Thanks so much to you and pink fresh Studio for the chance to win an amazing gift certificate.

  5. Mwhited says:

I wait all year for these Favorite Things videos. I am still waiting for the noncrafty FT video for this year! I love the comprehensive overview and the tutorial aspects of your crafty things videos. The ink review was most helpful as I have never been educated on the properties of the different inks beside the very basic definition of dye vs. pigment ink. Most helpful! BTW, love Allbirds and Rothy shoes now thanks to you!!!! Off to buy Obsidian Black ink from Altnew!

  6. Laura R says:

Thank you so much for this video and comparison. My current faves are the Oxide inks. I’m awaiting the pinkfresh cubes coming back in to stock though and suspect them to be my new favourites!

  7. Nicole England says:

Thank you for the time you spend curating each video for us, and thank you for the give away, it is very generous. Have a great day

  8. Jenny N says:

I am starting to explore inks and colors so this was well timed for me, thanks for another great informative video Jennifer.

  9. Arianna Barbara says:

My favourite to emboss is the VersaMark Ink. I love so much all the distress oxides too!!!

  10. urdixiedarlin says:

I’m still learning about inks, so anytime you talk about them I’m learning more. At least now I know which type to use if I don’t want smears! Thank you for all the time and effort that you spend to share your blessings with us. BTW Merry Christmas!! Be blessed!

  11. Mary Ellen Guikema says:

I really can’t choose just one ink brand. I love Simon’s ink, Lawn Fawn, Distress & Distress Oxide, Gina K. and the list goes on. Each one has it’s own uses and color palates. I am just starting to collect some of the Pinkfresh Studios colors.

  12. Andrea Hastilow says:

Thank you so much again for giving up a chunk of your time to go through all the many inks there are available to us crafters. My current favourite range this year has become the Gina K amalgam inks, I’m in love with these neutrals for no line colouring. Other than this range I still adore using the Altenew colours as like you pointed out that take the guess work out of coordinating colours. Have a great week x

  13. Theresa P says:

My current fave inks are Distress Oxide inks. Thanks for sharing so much information. Love your favorite crafty things series.

  14. JoSi says:

This video answered so many questions that I had about the different types of inks and how and when to use them.
Right now I am experimenting with the Distress inks and the Distress oxide inks. Thank you for this series.

  15. Betty Bywater says:

My all time Go To ink would be the Versafine Onyx Black. I have used this since it was first released. Since then there have been so many new ink brands and formulations. My more current choice would be the Ranger Distress Oxides. Thank you for sharing “My favorite crafty things” series again this year. I appreciate you giving your precious time to make these videos.

  16. Kathy says:

Thank you for all your hard work in bringing us your favorite things. I’ve learned so much from you over the years! My favorite ink is the Gina K amalgam ink because I don’t have to decide right away what medium I will use to color in my stamps. I love all of your videos. They make the time go by so fast as I’m walking on the treadmill.
    Thanks!

  17. valchic says:

I love Gina K inks.I also love Hero Arts and Distress.

  18. Nancy Ketcham says:

Versamark is my favorite of the inks you mentioned. I’d love to try some of the inks you described!

  19. I have two favourite inks: Gina K for colours and amalgam ink for black ink. My second most used inks are my distress and distress oxide inks. Another great informative video. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge. Much appreciated!

  20. Julie says:

I have mostly used hero arts, but I like the distress inks a lot too. Thanks for all your ideas.

  21. Denise Mlady says:

I love Distress Oxides and Catherine Pooler inks. The CP inks do have to be re-inked often though, so I would like to try the Pink Fresh or Altenew. They have so many fantastic colors.

  22. Donna Oates says:

I think Gina k would have to be my favorite ink. I just get better results when stamping. Thank you so much for your hard work in putting together these videos! You are appreciated!

  23. Colleen H says:

I have several that I love you use. My first choice is any Distress Ink/Oxide, I love the Altenew inks they cover so well and have colors that match, a plus. Also have Memento, MFT and Hero Arts. They all work great for so many different reasons.

  24. Laura Buehler says:

I can’t say I have one favorite ink. I do have more pigment inks than dye inks because they are more versatile. You can use them for plain stamping, but also for heat embossing, stamping on top of dark colors and you can blend them since they stay wet longer.

  25. Christina Gotowka says:

I enjoy your instructional videos immensely. Your tone and pace are easy to attend to. Thanks for sharing your expertise .

  26. Georgette A says:

I have recently been enjoying using Catherine pooler inks. But also use many of the inks mentioned in the post. Love to mix and match.

  27. Lauryne Cunningham says:

I love the Distress Oxide and Hero Arts inks and use Versamark all the time. I just bought Gina K’s Obsidian black ink but haven’t used it yet. Thank you for the awesome video!

  28. Nancy Mensch says:

I love my distress oxides and I really like the amalgam ink. I want to get the altenew obsidian ink for sentiments so that I can emboss. I really like how dark that appears. The pink fresh line has some great new colors that I would definitely like to add to my collection

  29. Mary Holshouser says:

I’m a demonstrator Stampin’ Up so I use a lot of
their inks because I have them all. I have
some of Cathrine Pooler’s, Altenew, and
the Craft Box inks. Have all of the
Distress Inks and about 1/2 of the Distress
Oxide inks Use them all occasionally.
    thanks for asking

  30. Susanbcards says:

So far Distress Oxide but I’d like to try other kinds!

  31. Kelly W. says:

Hi Jennifer! My favorite ink right now is the Gina K amalgam ink but as you stated in your video, she has 2 black inks to choose from. I didn’t know another shade had come out, ha! So I had to look at my color and it was “Jet”. I’d like to try the new shade as well. I’m still experimenting with colored dye inks to find my favorite lines. Thank you for your videos and vast knowledge of products!

    1. Mary Schmidt says:

My fav is Distress Oxide for blending.

  32. jbatik2000 says:

I am loving the Distress Oxide inks right now. I just bought a few of the sprays and can’t wait to try them out. I also like the Altenew Crisp Dye Inks.

  33. Kirsten says:

I *love* seeing your ink swatches. They are so helpful when I’m trying to fill in colour gaps in my collection…which is scattered between brands.

  34. Claire Gagne says:

WOW, what a wealth of information on this video Jennifer. The black ink I’ve been using is the Versa Fine, but after watching this video, I’ll be switching to the Gina K Amalgam one. TY for such effort in bringing us the resources of where you purchase all items.

  35. Kirsten says:

Forgot to say that I don’t have a “favourite” ink…but having watched your video I definitely want some of the Gina K inks!!!

  36. Daire says:

Thank you for taking the time to share your opinions on products every year! I have been creating cards for over 10 years. I found your channel 3 years ago. Recently I have been given many compliments such as “You have really stepped up your card designs!” or “Your cards have really been creative lately!” I can say it is duet to techniques, product and the stamping community you have shared. Have a Blessed Holiday Season.

  37. Karen L. says:

Thanks so much for this series, Jennifer. I look forward to it every year. I use a variety of inks depending on what I am doing, but I think I reach for Distress Oxide inks the most.

  38. Thanks so much for the ink recommendations. There are so many different brands and as a hobby crafter, not a professional, I can’t buy them all. I love the amalgam inks and plan to try the altenew gold inks soon. Two of my favorites of your favorites are the Rothy’s and the Black and Decker handheld vacuum.

  39. lori_carson says:

Thanks again for another great and informative video. I appreciate you explaining the differences in the inks and how best to use them depending on your desired outcome. I really appreciate all you do to help us!

  40. Maureen Reiss says:

I love Gina K’s Amalgam ink!! It works with all my coloring mediums!! Thanks for another great video Jennifer!!

  41. Linda Stewart says:

There are so many hard to chose, but I love Gina K obsidian amalgam black ink! Absolutely love your u tube channel and your blog, you are so talented and such a pleasant voice to listen to! Have a blessed Christmas and New Year!

  42. Luanne Ford says:

I’m really loving all your crafty videos! It’s been Merry Christmas to me as I keep making crafty purchases! 😉

  43. Marti Crockett says:

Thank you for this video. I have a lot of the oxide inks but have been trying other inks for black inking and haven’t found the perfect one yet but will try your suggestions.

  44. dancingcat says:

My favorite from you video is Gina K, I like matching paper and envelopes (my favorite envelopes too). My only wish is that someone would design a better container, I have bad hands and most of the inks are difficult for me to open. How about some ridges on the sides? They’ve improved acrylic blocks for easier gripping, so I hope someone gets inventive and creates a better case for the inks.

  45. Janet Sisk says:

I am a die hard Momento ink lover. I never have trouble with bleeding with alcohol markers when I use it. I have the Gina K Amalgam one, too, but still reach for my Momento most of the time. I love Distress inks, too. Thanks for your thoughts on inks and for the chance to win. 😀

  46. Diane C says:

I love, love, the oxide inks. I have Never been able to blend well and these are amazing. A real joy to play with. Thanks again for sharing all you knowledge. Cheers.

  47. Susan T says:

My favorite ink at the moment is The Stamp Market. I just love their colors. They make me happy and there are a few different things that you can do with them.

  48. I am a longtime user of Stampin’ Up inks and refills. I have almost every color that they have released and use them on the majority of my projects. The ink refills are wonderful for watercolor! After that would be the Tim Holtz distress line – both regular distress and the oxides. But I find even when using these that I still go back and accent with my SU! inks. 😉

  49. Margaret B says:

Thanks for sharing so much information on inks. I have a number of favorites which include Distress Oxides, Altenew and Gina K Designs especially the Amalgam inks because I know I can use them with Copics and watercolors. I will have to check out the Pink Fresh inks.

  50. Susan McRae says:

My favorite ink is Versafine Onyx Black, perfect for sentiments and outline images. The Distress Oxides are my fave for inky techniques!
