  1. Debbi Smith says:

My favorite is the Gina K Amalgam ink. Being able to stamp and use all different types of coloring options is awesome!

  2. Mel H says:

Gina K and her almagam inks are hard to beat. And her black is just the best out there.

  3. Karen Davis says:

My favorite black ink is Versafine Onyx Black. Other favorites are Distress Oxides (love ’em) and Versamark. I have tons of inks collected over the last 20 years that I seldom use because I always go back to my favorites.

  4. Laurie Pickerel says:

Thank you Jennifer for these videos. Very helpful. My favorite inks are still the distress oxide inks. I love doing background techniques with them.

  5. Mindy1414 says:

My favorite ink for outline stamping is GKD Jet Black Amalgam, for backgrounds Distress Oxides, for everything else I love the Scrapbook.com Premium Hybrid Ink.

  6. I’m so excited to see that Pinkfresh inks are on your list. I don’t have any of them yet, but they have some colors that definitely caught my eye. It’s just hard to take the first step to invest in something new, but I feel much more comfortable when they are highly recommended by someone who I know has tried out a lot of options. As a whole, my favorite inks are Altenew inks (but I do have other colors from other brands that I love).

  7. stitch says:

I love your videos, but they always cost me a lot of money 😀. Now I see inks that I can’t live without.

    1. stitch says:

I forgot to say that my favorite ink is probably versamark, I love to emboss and I love the resist techniques.

  8. Kim Douglass says:

I am just getting into card making and have only used the distress inks. I appreciate hearing about the other types of inks and especially how the type of paper makes a big difference. ( I loved the way you used shoes to help describe the differences!)

  9. Adriana Falk says:

My favorite by far is the Gina K amalgam ink. I’ve tested many hybrid inks to do copic coloring with, but have always gone back to this ink!

  10. JoAnn Girimonte says:

I love Gkd inks, and all the distress inks. Thank you for sharing. So informative. God bless 💕

  11. moonbeans says:

Great info in the video. You’ve helped me to realize I don’t need every brand and every color….time for a purge and garage sale.

  12. Allissa W says:

Distress oxide are the current favorites, along with the trusty versa-mark pad. I really want to try Catherine Pooler’s and Gina K’s inks also, but it hasn’t been in the budget yet. Thanks for sharing!

  13. SherylH says:

Love the Distress Ink line for techniques and backgrounds. Favorite black ink is from Versafine and of course I always have a use for Versamark. Would love to try some of the new ink lines and colours though.

  14. Jeanne Goff says:

My favorite ink is Altenew Obsidian Bkack ink. I have stamped 80 Christmas cards inside and out and at least 20 more and the ink pad is still sharp and juicy.

  15. Jen K says:

The inks I use are Versafine, Versa Clair, Altenew, Distress Inks, and Distress Oxides depending on the look I’m going for. My black is Versafine’s.
And by the way, I discovered Rothy’s shoes after you posted them last year. It’s funny, I’m relatively near to them and hadn’t heard of them before. But I’m very happy with the shoes I have! Thanks for the tip(s).

  16. Bonnie King says:

This is such a helpful video. Inks – or anything that makes color – are my weakness and when I see something I like my first instinct is to buy every color. It’s as if collecting all the inks is a separate hobby of its own! I have learned, however, that it’s not practical to have one of everything, so I’ve started getting a few colors in cubes from some of the companies you’ve mentioned – Hero Arts, Gina K, Altenew. I’m liking the looks of the new Pinkfresh Studios inks, so I think some of their cubes will be next.

  17. Catherine Ruud says:

I really enjoy reading and hearing your techniques and especially appreciate your sales summaries! Thanks!

  18. Jeanne Goff says:

I meant to say in my previous post my favorite ink is Altenew Obsidian Black. Also I have discovered Rothy’s shoes and love them. Such a great idea to recycle in such a clever way.

  19. SJ says:

I like GinaK amalgam and just purchased obsidian for a darker black and whisper. I used verseafine black onyx for years for sentiments yet smear it sometimes making a mess. I also sometimes forgot what black I used and then days (or months) later got bleeding using copics or color pencils/Gamsol. Use distress inks a lot too. I pick inks for color rather than brands. Thanks for the Fav series.

  20. Teri says:

Great video. My fave are Gina K and Distress Oxide. I use them both a lot. I do like the colours of Pink Fresh so have been eyeing those up.

What stamp set did you use for Friend and Hello. Love the font and size!

  21. marsha simmons says:

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on inks. I love the GinaK inks. For my verses however, I get the best results with my India Ink. It’s my long time favorite.

  22. Marlene Cobbs says:

I really like Distress oxide ink. It’s easy to use. I’m new at this and don’t have many inks.

  23. Jeanne Beam says:

I love all kind s of inks but my favorite is Distress Oxide inks! I would love to try the Gina K ink line especially the black amalgam ink.
    Thanks for sharing ..

  24. Lagene says:

Thanks for all the shopping information! My favorite ink is Ranger’s Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks!

  25. Amy Cooley says:

Currently, I’m using the Lawn Fawn black ink and I really like it. I also just received The Stamp Market inks and can’t wait to play.

  26. Patt H. says:

My favorite ink is the very versatile Versamark. I also use a lot of Distress Oxide inks. Thanks for this awesome informative video!

Thank you for this video. It is very helpful.

  28. JoElle says:

I just ordered a whole set of the Altenew inks. I think they might be my new favorite!

  29. Toni C says:

Up until recently my favourite was Versafine Onyx black, because it always stamped my sentiments really well. But I have just started using the Altenew Obsidian ink and I don’t think I’ve used the Versafine since…. BUT, if I could only chose one ink to have in my collection it would be Versa Mark 🙂

  30. Robin Parsons says:

I like distress inks and versafine clair!

  31. Jackie64 says:

Every video I watch , I learn something new…. thank you for explaining so well these inks.. you have helped me to reach out and try colored inks….thank you again!

  33. Mel says:

Versamark! What would we do without your versatility?

  34. Tammy storino says:

This video is so helpful! I have the Gina K amalgam ink and didn’t realize what I can do with it. Thank you! The ink I use the most is Vera fine black, but I ordered a few other inks tonight after watching your video. Thanks for taking the time to educate us!

  35. Melissa Creamer says:

I recently bought the GKD jet black amalgam blank ink and her color ink cubes. I’m looking forward to using them. I have AlteNew ink cubes and love how they stamp and how the color families coordinate for layered stamping. It makes it so easy! I have been using SSS black ink for years and started using Ink on 3 black ink this year and love it. I’m always looking for a new black black ink. I’ll have to look into the obsidian black Inks.

  36. Sophie says:

By far the best video about inks I have ever seen. I wish I had a video like that when I started this hobby. Thank you for your amazing videos!
I love the hero arts inks because for me they give best results. I also have some Altenew ink family cubes. They are the best for layered stamping.

  37. Linda Wood says:

My current fave ink is Distress Oxide; I have fun with the techniques and properties of this ink. However, I am ordering GinaK Obsidian Amalgam, sounds wonderful

  38. Melody W. says:

I like to try the Gina K Obsidian Amalgam Black Ink. I like that you can use it with Copic, watercolor and gamsol !

  39. Kristen Chalmers says:

I’m new to stamping so I don’t own many inks. My first purchase was the Gina K dye inks and I love them.

  40. Bunny Dobbie says:

I love the Distress Oxides for techniques and I’m totally with you on Versamark for embossing. Great information on inks. I’ll make a note on the Gina K Obsidian. Sounds very interesting. Thanks for all your work on the video.

  41. janesprando says:

I Have several inks I like. For black ink, I like My Favorite Things Extreme Back Ink. I like playing with Oxide inks, too.

  42. Denise Bryant says:

I am loving the Distress Oxide inks, but I am anxious to try out the Pinkfresh ink line! So many pretty colors!

  43. Kathy Mc says:

VersaFine Black Onyx is my very favorite ink because I get very clear results with this. I mostly use it for sentiments though. I’m dipping my feet into the world of TH Distress Oxide inks. I’m hoping to try other companies, besides PTI, VersaMark and Gina K Designs. It can be a huge investment though. Thanks for sharing your favs!

  44. Karen says:

  45. Susan Y says:

I really like the Gina K inks! Love your tips and tutorials!

  46. Sandy says:

My favorite ink is versafine black Onyx for words.

  47. Beth Mckenzie says:

I use distress ink for backgrounds that I make ahead of time and use for skies, trees or ocean themes.

  48. Liz Jutila says:

Thanks for this great series! Altenew has my favorites inks, by far. You are inspiring me to try Gina K amalgam inks though!

  49. PatriciaD says:

Inks are something I struggle with, too!! I love some for most everything and others for layered flowers!

Wonderful video! I thought I knew everything about inks but I learned a lot more. Thanks for the information. Now I need to go try some new things, hopefully improve my stamping.
