My favorite ink is Altenew’s obsidian black.

  2. lizart4dex says:

I was first introduced to stamping by a Stampin Up demonstrator, so I haven’t really used any of the other ink brands other than versa mark. These ink pads are similar to the ones you described; they are firm felt dye ink pads. I haven’t used them in a few months and noticed that they can seem a little dry over time. This leads me to ask a couple of questions…how do you re-ink your pads if it is needed and how do you store them? I was told it’s best to store them upside down so the ink stays at the top of the pad. How do you feel about that? I would love to see a video on this subject.

Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and favorite things!

  3. Dana M says:

  4. Christen says:

    I love Gina Ks ink!!

  5. Dawn Skene says:

I love Gina K. Amalgam ink. I can stamp an image and come back later to colour it and not worry about what I colour with. I know it’s not going to bleed. I also love VersaMark!

  6. Jade says:

I like the Altenew inks And the VersaMark ink for embossing. Fantastic video with lots of great information. Thank you.

  7. Judy M says:

I am thinking of investing in the Gina K for the colors. I do love the stamping quality with the Versafine and Versafine Clair but the colors are limited. I also love Distress, Oxide, and Hero Arts.

  8. Catherine L says:

I just started using Distress Oxides and I love them!

  9. Kaitlyn says:

I don’t have ink as I’m new to stamping, but I just bought some altenew cube sets to try out. They are on their way in the mail! Christmas will be crafty this year!

I have a few Gina K inks and love 💕 them. Thank you for another great video!
I never thought of mixing different inks..next thing to try 🙂

  16. npham604 says:

I love the Distress Oxides. I like splattering water and the effects it gives.

  17. Cone says:

Another fantastic video Jennifer. Thank you.

  18. Eileen says:

My absolute favorite ink is the GinaK amalgam ink. It’s new to me, have only been using it since the first of October, but I LOVE it!! I can use it for any project I want without worry. When I go to my sisters for a crafty weekend, I’ve started taking that ink with me to stamp some of her images to bring home. That way I can be sure that if I want to use copics, or water color the image will be as perfect as the moment I stamped it!

  19. Rebekah A. says:

I love the colors of pigments, but I almost always smudge it unless embossing. I’ve been using Distress Oxides a lot lately and I’m really liking them.

  20. I have come to like the ‘hybrid’ inks. My largest selection is the Scrapbook.com hybrids. But I am interested in trying out the amalgam inks (by Gina K) you mentioned in your video

  21. Judith says:

I love Hero Arts ink and Distress inks (both the original and Oxide). I agree with you about choosing based on colors since many companies use a similar formulation for dye based inks.

  22. Donna Juchtzer says:

Thank you so much for explaining the differences in the inks, it has always been a little confusing to me. I really like the idea of the Gina K amalgam obsidian, being it takes a lot of the guess work out of what you can use with it and that it’s really black. Thank you so much for all your professional information and inspiration.

  23. Like someone else commented, it’s very hard to pick just one favorite. I like Lawn Fawn inks for color saturation & the fact that they clean off my stamps with just my damp Absorber–no special stamp cleaner needed. I also like both Distress inks & Distress Oxide inks. Mostly for techniques, but I also sometimes stamp with the Oxides if I have a solid stamp image & can’t find just the right color in my dye ink collection. For black ink, probably Versafine Onyx Black; unless I’m doing colored pencils, then I often use Memento Tuxedo Black, since I know that won’t smear. And there’s always Versamark for heat embossing, and Ink on 3’s Fadeout ink for no-line coloring. I’m afraid my comment may be almost as extensive as your video. LOL Seriously, thank you for sharing all these inks AND tips! I hope you have a super wonderful day! 🙂 ~ Andrea

  24. Kristina says:

As strange as it sounds, my favorite ink is VersaMark. So many different looks/techniques with one ink pad. I’m also enjoying the Altenew Obsidian Black from your recommendation a number of months ago. Thank you!

  25. Heather Pennie says:

Memento tuxedo black, and versamark embossing. I haven’t tried too many varieties of ink so I am always looking out for new things to try. Thanks for the great round up for me to look forward to tryingout.

  26. MELISSA FRIEDRICH says:

Thanks for your awesome and informative video on inks, and generous giveaways for this Favorite Crafty Things series. My favorite inks are Altenew, I love their colors and their water colors and alcohol markers all coordinate. I think my most used ink is Versamark!

  27. Nancy Stott says:

My favorite black ink is Versamark Onyx Black. I recently bought Gina K’s obsidian black ink but haven’t had a chance to play with it yet. Overall, Distress Oxide inks are my favorites as I love ink blending and other techniques it is good for. Thank you for all the work you put into your Favorite Crafty Things videos.

  28. grammasuzi says:

I use more distress oxide than anything else, because I can stamp and water color with it in addition to blending and other techniques. Thank you so much for all the work you put into this. It is so informative! Thank you!

  29. Barb Martin says:

Hi Jennifer, My favorite ink is Distressed Oxide. And, of course, Ranger Alcohol Inks. I have been inspired by your videos more times than I can count and save them for tips and hints. Being new to paper crafting (since I semi-retired this year) I have a difficult time remembering things like the differences between dye and oh darn whatever the name of the other one is. I’m getting better though. Thank you for all of your videos and help. Barb from Denver.

  30. Andre M. says:

Thanks for sharing all this info, my fave inks are the Distress Oxides and Versafine.

  31. Priya Venkat says:

My favorite has to be the VersaMark inks. I use it for embossing and I love their Onyx Black pigment ink. Distress inks come a close second.

  33. Stef Perry says:

My favorite ink is the Gina K Amalgam Jet Black for Copic coloring. It is fantastic and when my current pad wears out I’ll step up to the Obsidian. I also love my Distress and Distress Oxide inks, I use them frequently for backgrounds and sometimes for sentiments. A very informative video series, and this one in particular about inks, as I am looking to transition to new dye inks from some old SU inks. Thanks Jennifer!

  34. Holly S. says:

I’m getting into oxide inks lately!

  35. Laraine R says:

My favorite inks are GinaK & Altenew along with versamark, distress & distress oxides.

  36. Larkin says:

My favorite type of ink is the Distress Oxides, because I can stamp an image in exactly the same shade as my background if I want. I think this coordination of colors takes my card-making up a notch. Finding this type of ink was a game changer for me.

  37. Sue D says:

My favorite black ink is Versafine Onyx Black. I also like my Versamark pad and Hero Arts Unicorn White.

  38. Terry B. says:

I’m a fan of distress inks.
Thanks for the chance to win!

  46. Sheri K says:
