I really tend to go in streaks with what I reach for most. Right now it has to be heat embossing as I am working on holiday projects and that is when I use it most. I also love my Wink of Stella 🙂

  2. LB says:

I’m always leery of sequins and other dimensional things falling off in the mail… so I have been using embossing powder lately. Since listening to your tips on the antistatic powder tool and letting the heat gun get “good and hot” before applying to the paper- I’m getting better results!! Thank you 🙂

  3. Thanks for the great recommendations, Jennifer … so many great ideas! My favourite accents at the moment are Wink of Stella, Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens and Tsukineko Shimmer Spray … the all give such a gorgeous, understated sparkle to my cards! Wishing you all the blessings that Christmas brings! Anita 🙂

  4. Judy says:

This series of My Favorite Crafty Things was great. I liked how you demonstrated the shimmer brushes and the white pens. I do love my Wink of Stella shimmer pen and use it a lot. I also purchased several of the Tonic Nuvo drops in the Chrystal and the glitter. I liked your choices of sequins and jewels too. I do like and use Gink K’s products especially her stamps, ink pads and paper. I’m pretty sure I purchased recently the white embossing powder. I’m happy you found a Black Embossing powder to recommend and Brutus Monroe’s Raven is perfect.
Thank you for all your recommendations.

  5. Heather King says:

Thanks for sharing…I always enjoy your craft things videos!!
right now…I am using my wink of stella pen (not because I prefer it over the others, that’s just what I currently have, but look forward to trying them soon!) and I am all about sequins and jewels on everything these days…
I recently purchased a bunch from Kat Scrappiness and have a stash from SSS as well…
    thanks for the opportunity!
    Enjoy your holidays!

  6. Tamara Dees says:

I am loving your series of Favorites! Thanks,

  7. Margery C says:

I use my Signo White Gel pen on practically every card to give some fine detail.

  8. bev p says:

I always have my shimmer pens near–can’tbeat them for little sparkly highlights. (W of S, Spectrum Noir, And my Gelly Roll stardust). Next up: my clear and black Glaze pens–So easy to add a bit of dimension and shine. Lately I seem to be developing an addiction to clear sequins. (I made a ballerina spinner for my grand-girl for her last recital and wanted to give the idea of a spotlight. I glued a ridiculous number of the iridescent clear sequins in a widening path from the top to the bottom of the card. I was surprised how much I liked the result!) I still like my Stickles on occasion and have only one bottle of Nuvo drops. I do like them every now and then, but don’t reach for them often. Love to add ribbon or string, not on everything. That doesn’t begin to touch all those “just in case” items I hoard–but I do actually pull them out and use them for that ” one special card”! thanks so much for taking the time to share your amazing wealth of knowledge. I always learn something and become more and more willing to try new things.

  9. Amanda Hays says:

I love the spectrum noir shimmer pen. I am also enjoying my 28 Lilac Lane sequins. My favorite is the seaside holiday mix.

  10. Mary Ohnemus says:

Hi Jennifer – Will say a prayer as it sounds like you have had something come up in your family recently! I appreciated the newest video! I use the wink of stella to color just about everything! I use the wink to blend my tombows on Bristol card stock, and get so many compliments on the outcome! I learned that tip from you, and have not moved on from it. Thanks!!!

  11. Trina P. says:

Love sparkles, so I use clear shimmer pens the most going between Wink of Stella and Spectrum Noir.

  12. Steffi H. says:

I can’t live without my Wink of Stella pen, and I love sparkle/tinsel embossing powder.

  13. Michele says:

I love sparkle pens and mist 🙂

  14. cyndi morris says:

I had to pause your video several times to add items to my “need” list! Over the years I’ve tried many items you’ve recommended, and I’ve never been disappointed. Thanks so much for all the info and inspiration you provide in your videos.

  15. Sheri K says:

I use my sparkle gel pen the most–probably on just about every card I make, from highlighting important words in the inside message, adding sparkle to an element or over a water colored item. I have a couple other sparkle pens, but find I prefer more control with the gellyroll type–maybe because it’s got less sparkle? Or perhaps habit, since I keep one on my desk, on my work table, with my colored pencils bag–I have them everywhere. Thanks for another terrific video–I really appreciate all you do to inspire us crafters! Merry Christmas!

  16. Simone says:

I hope everything is okay with your family! Thank you again for the great recommendations! I need those shimmer pens. I love my metallic pens from “Edding” – a German company – for finishing touches on my cards.

  17. Tona says:

I probably use Nuvo drops & sequins most often.

  18. Linda Towill says:

Watching your favorite crafty things has been a great holiday gift! TFS I recently fell back in love with my sparkle Jelly Roll pen. A whole lot of sparkle is packed into that fine line. I especially like it for highlighting veins on flowers and leaves.

  19. Barbara Lassiter says:

Heat embossing is still my # 1 finishing touch! I agree with you about the heat gun! When my original gun wasn’t doing it’s job, I upgraded to the one sold by Hero Arts, and the difference was amazing! I’ve been using it now for more than a year and have not been disappointed. Thanks for always giving us the best ideas!

  20. Jeanne Beam says:

Thanks for sharing all the great information on finishing touches and embossing. I use my shimmer pen and gel pen the most. I love to heat emboss my sentiments. Thanks again for sharing…

  21. Michelle S says:

My most used finishing touch is the wink of stella glitter brush pen. Thanks again for compiling all this great information

  22. Ang says:

I like shimmer pens and the tonic drops. Thanks for your videos!

  23. vrozecki says:

Jennifer, I’m new to your blog and I love the gems that you show. I’ve learned so much from you in such a short time. I look forward to your videos very night.

  24. So wonderful as always. I can’t imagine the time it must take to put all of your recommendations together.

  25. Susan Tomlinson says:

Oh, I’m a simple girl, but I just love BLING! Almost nothing leaves my craft room with out a little (or a lot!) or rhinestone embellishments. A little twinkle to catch your eye and to make you feel glamorous!
Also, thank you for your amazing professional videos… I have learned a ton and am excited for the holidays to be over to pursue so many of your ideas and products you’ve mentioned. Thanks a bunch! Susan

  26. Pampam says:

Thanks for the great suggestions Jennifer!!
I have to say, I currently am a big wink of Stella fan. But I also like to emboss and use Time Holtz distress Oxides on the edges of my cards. Guess it sort of depends on the project!

  27. Teri W says:

I love love love Nuevo drops! They are everywhere.

  28. Sue in Grapevine says:

I’m glad to know more about the different kinds of NUVO drops.

  29. Eva Nelson says:

Thanks for doing this series again. It always helps me decide what to add to my crafting supplies. I love to heat emboss most of my cards. Sentiments always look better to me when embossed in color or just clear powder. Heat embossing gives definition to stamped images adds dimension in color resist and even gives me lines so I don’t color outside the image. I love the finishing touch it gives everything.

  30. Sequins are currently my favorite accent! I love adding one or two to finish off my cards.

  31. Isabelle says:

My favorite finishing touch is the shimmer pen. I’ve got all three pens you’ve shown in your video and I love them all. I’m got also a few colored shimmer pens, but I’m not using them as often as the clear ones.

Thank you so much for all the videos you’ve done for us to save time and money ! And please, don’t apologize for not editing a video. Your family is much more important !

I take this opportunity to send you my best wishes for a Merry Christmas ! I wish you to have plenty happy time with your family and friends.

  32. Deepa Lakshman says:

Oh my thank you for this. I reach for sequins and stickles and also the liquid pearls.

  33. Annelie S. says:

I use the Wink of Stella pen the most, but will definitively try the Tonic. Always enjoy your videos. Hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas.

  34. Holly Graham says:

I use my stardust glitter pen and/or my wink of Stella. Gotta have that glitter!

  35. Laurie Brouillard says:

Thanks for the videos. I like a few of the items you talked about. The Nuvo drops, the sparkle pens and embossing powders, they are all wonderful.

  36. Hi, I use all kinds, most common are wink of stella, Nuva drops, Hero arts embossing powder and my Spectrum Noir Sparkle marker. Thanks Jennifer.

  37. Debby Vifquain says:

I like to use wink if Stella glitter pen. I’m happy that you recommended a good white embossing powder. I always have trouble with the one I am currently using.

  38. Nancy C says:

I find that I reach for my Nuvo Crystal Drops most. They make great accents and are very helpful covering up mistakes!

  39. I cannot seem to make a card without some shimmer – I have wink of stella, nuvo shimmer, and spectrum noir glimmer. I mix them up. oh yea. and DIamond Stickles!

  40. SherylH says:

When my card seems to be missing “something” I like to use the Wink of Stella clear shimmer marker for large areas or the Stardust glitter pen which is barely noticeable but just adds that little accent.

  41. Betty says:

This video really enlightened me! I have the Nuvo drops but haven’t used them, now I know what to do with them and will use them. Also, I’ve seen you use the pick up utensil and I’m definitely getting one! I love to use embossing powder. I also just bought some Gina K Designs inks, and man I love them!!
Thanks for all of your videos and all that you share with us!

  42. Sage1899 says:

Thank you four all of the inspiration. I haven’t done many cards test I am waiting for my ordered supplies to arrive but so far I guess wink of Stella would be my go to simply because its the one thing I’ve used so far. I love watching your videos but family absolutely comes first so we can wait for your next video. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

  43. Kelly B says:

I always add a touch of sparkle to every project with a glitter or shimmer pen.

  44. Laraine Randall says:

Wink of stella, Nuvo drops, sequins or gems. Great video!

  45. Stef Perry says:

Jennifer, I so appreciate your Crafty Things video series! It is so informative and helpful. My favorite accents are the Wink of Stella pen, the Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz (used half a bottle since early October-I think I’m addicted to seeing sparkle on most everything ha!), and heat embossing. I also use Nuvo drops and sequins quite often.

  46. Julia D. says:

Thanks for another great video! My most-used embellishment is probably either ribbon or enamel dots. Thank you for the chance to win!

  47. María Alba Negrón says:

    H Jennifer,

Thanks AGAIN for a well informed and thorough video about these products. I wish for you and your family
a precious Christmas and may the New Year bring you, Peace, Love and Happiness!

    Cariños,
    María Alba

  48. Tracy A says:

The finishing touches I use most are heat embossing and Wink of Stella. Thanks for the wonderful video.

  49. Judy says:

My style is mostly CAS so I use heat embossing. white gel pens or Wink of Stella when I use embellishments. I do enjoy using sequins or confetti in shaker cards but don’t tend to use them very much on regular cards.

  50. F. Andre says:

My most-used embellishments are sequins/confetti, glitter dots and ribbons. Thanks for the great video.
