I love distress inks for techniques but as far as die based ink goes, I have only used memento. I am hoping to maybe get the altenew crisp inks or maybe lawn fawn. Not sure which one yet.

I fell in love with distress inks for techniques and coloring, but as you said – they’re not the best for stamping. I bought one cube set from Hero Arts and one from MFT and love them both ^^
Small question, when I started paper crafting, I bought an embossing stamp pad. When I started watching your videos I saw that you use VersaMark, and than realized they are both by Tsukineko! the embossing pad works great, but I was wondering if there is a clear difference between the two? Thanks!!

If I had to choose only one type of ink I think it would be dye ink. I use it to ink the edges of paper, it give a nice crisp image and it works with my rubber stamps and my clear stamps. Because it absorbs into the paper it doesn’t smear. But I love my distress inks and pigment inks too

Hi, I am learning to use distress inks. I have been stamping for a while, but I had no idea what distress inks were for until I found your blog. Saturday, I had some friends over and we all practiced making a night sky. So fun!

  31. 5911countess says:

I tend to use Versafine onyx black for stamping for colouring and love, love, love my mini distress collection for the versatility but think I’m going to try the Altenew small cubes colour coordinated inks for some flower/leaf stamping with my Misti. Versamark a must for embossing or conditioning stamps!! Love your suggestions and your sharing of the swatch sheets.

I’m still finding my way with ink. I of course use the VersaMark and the Hero Arts Black. I have purchased the Hero Arts Shadow Inks in the cubes to save money. I think I’ll have to try some of the Ranger and I’d really like to try the Altenew with some layering stamps.

  46. Nancy Stott says:

My favorite inks are Distress Inks. I prefer the full-sized ink pads. I bought several sets of the ink cubes and they are a mess. They seem to be over-inked and I constantly have to clean the storage tin they are in because they leak. When I try to ink up a stamp they are way too juicy. Can I be the only one with this problem?

  47. Kelly C says:

My favorite inks to play with are the Distress inks because of their versatility but you have peaked my interest in the Hero Arts and Altnew lines now too!

  48. Nicole says:

My favourite ink are pigment ink seems like more juicy to me. I tried dye inks and I am having a hard time with it.

Distress inks are awesome for techniques. My go to:)

  50. Karen B. says:

My favorite inks are papertrey inks.
