I am always looking for new “folds” for my cards. I just get a bit bored with the same ol’ basic fold. After a bit of playing, I figured out how to easily create a gate fold card with a border die. YAY! A NEW WAY TO USE BORDER DIES! (Sorry – that was worth the shouting – lol.)

So for my examples, I used the Sunny Studio Fishtail Banners and Fishtail Banner Two dies sets. These aren’t exactly border dies. (But are so much cooler!) However, in the video I share how to do the same technique with more traditional border dies. This vertical gate fold design is fun! It is difficult to explain in text, so be sure to watch the video for the how-to details.

After creating the gate fold card, I added lots of stamping with various fall colors of ink (linked below in thumbnails) and the new and oh-so-fun Sunny Studio Autumn Splendor Stamp Set. This set offers bold stamp layering. I used the same stamp set for a gold heat embossed sentiment.

After stamping, I covered the leaves with some Wink of Stella shimmer. (Boy – what a difference that makes!) I also added detail dots by gold heat embossing some Quickie Glue Pen dots. Oh! And I put some Glossy Accents on the berries…

I also stamped a matching envelope using the Sunny Studio Sending My Love and Autumn Splendor Stamps. It only takes a few minutes… but it is so worth it. This is a Fired Brick envelope from Gina K. Her envelopes are like candy.

I also made a kraft version of the card. I think I may like this one even better…

Wink of Stella looks AMAZING on kraft! Crazy cool shimmer…

Again – you could use almost any border die for this gate fold design. Give it a try!

Thank you for everything you have taught me.
