I really enjoy making bold color cards, and today’s technique is perfect for that! You can do this fun stacking technique with many different die shapes.

I started each card with six different colors of cardstock… all cut to the same size. I also cut the shadow die from the Neat and Tangled Celebrate Die Set in the center of each piece. After cutting horizontally through each piece, I adhered the pieces on top of each other but slightly offset for a stacked, stair-step look.

I also used the “celebrate” sentiment die from the Neat and Tangled Celebrate Die Set to cut from the six colors of cardstock. I adhered each die cut together with a Quickie Glue Roller Pen to create a dimensional sentiment and added it in the center of the stacked pieces on the card front. I also white heat embossed the greeting from the Neat and Tangled Celebrate Stamp Set.

I created another example with one of my all-time favorite dies – the Neat and Tangled Awesome Die Set. This die is incredible. I love this color combo!

I also gave both cards a bit of subtle shimmer with my Shimmer Spritz. Game changer.

  1. Your technique for ensuring all the shadow die cuts are aligned is genius! I love the effect of this card and the work you have put into creating it.

  2. I just loved the shadow die of the words and coloured combination
Thnx Jennifer for actually putting up beautiful stamping videos I never knew that stamping can be so creative…Thank you vry much

  3. A really cool effect. My crafty friends think I’m crazy because I love the fine detail of a card like that. It is very cool & even if the recipient throws your card away (their choice) I enjoyed making it. I think I will try it with a rainbow effect.
Thanks for the constant flow of ideas & inspiration!!

  4. Adore your crafts, particularly when you’re using stamps. I consider getting my own stamp set (mainly) for using in my planner. Do you have any tips on what I should be extra mindful about?

  5. I LOVE how they came out with the die and border and the font/handwriting is beautiful. So props to whoever created these. Love the colors they blend great together. Tfs, Sheila

  6. I love this idea – so neat, and yet so professional looking and quite easy by the looks of things. Thanks for sharing with us all.

  7. Hey Jennifer,
first of all, I love your cards. Watching your videos was one of the reasons I started making cards (I am a still a beginner, started in january this year). I saw this card and the one from Kristina and decided I have to have a die cut like this. I did a simulous card but I put the two die cuts together when I run them through the machine. That way I only had to die cut once and not twice for each color and saved some time. Do you already have an idea what to make out of the negative space from the two die cuts? I think they look so cool as well.
    Love your work!

  8. Wow! So many different looks you can accomplish with Dies. Seriously think i need to invest. Hand cutting takes so long! 😀

  9. I love the “celebrate” card stack card. Where can I purchase the die?
Everything that you do is simply wonderful! I have not seen something that I didn’t love.
Thank you for all the work that you do for us.

    Hi Jennifer,
Your videos are the best. I watched your “Stacked Die Cuts” video on YouTube using the “Celebrate” Neat and Tangled die. In this video you mention another video where you used the “Awesome” die – but I can’t find this video anywhere.
Would you please point me to that video?
    Thanks, David (Craftique_Cards)
