Well… I had lost my crafty mojo. To get it back, I decided to dive in and make a lot of cards for friends. And it worked! However, the result is a long video and post. I am sorry – I hope that is ok! The cards featured one of my favorite older techniques – faux textured metal paper with Perfect Pearls and Embossing Folders.
Again – there are A LOT of cards in this video and post and I apologize! I got carried away. It was kinda of my “healing” from a long struggle of not creating much. I feel so much better! I hope these cards show you that you can take products you have and put them to good use to make a bunch of cards… all with a simple card design.
I have details on what products I used on each card below. On all of them, I used Stick It adhesive to the back of die cuts to make them easy to apply. This is a great, helpful product! On many of the cards I used the super-cool multi-dimensional We R Memory Keepers Next Level Embossing Folders. These suckers sell fast, but you can find many at Simon Says Stamp, Ellen Hutson and Amazon. Or, just use whatever embossing folders you have!
OK, here is what I used on each card:
“Friend Card” – Evergreen Bough and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks + Perfect Pearls + WRMK Geometric Embossing Folder + Mama Elephant Friend Die + SSS Mini Hearts Die + American Craft Black Glitter Paper:
(Check out the dimension from these embossing folders! Swoon.)
Want the look of brushed silver? Try this.
“Thank You Card” – Hickory Smoke Distress Ink + Perfect Pearls + WRMK Geometric Embossing Folder + Impression Obsession Thank You Die (LOVE this!) + SSS Mini Hearts Die + American Craft Black Glitter Paper:
This next one is similar to the last.
Interested in a brushed gold/bronze look?
(The gold shine is incredible in real life.)
“Thanks Card” – Evergreen Bough and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks + Perfect Pearls (wiped off with baby wipe) + old Maggie Holmes Embossing Folder + Impression Obsession Thanks Die + SSS Mini Hearts Die + American Craft Silver Glitter Paper + Glossy Accents:
“Thank You Card” – Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks + Perfect Pearls (wiped off with baby wipe) + WRMK Gemstone Embossing Folder + Impression Obsession Thank You Die + SSS Mini Hearts Die:
(I will admit – I messed this one up so I trimmed done the “metal” area and added it to a white card.)
(Oh that shine…)
