Split Card Design + Stamps For a Cause + Giveaway
Hello! Today I wanted to share a split card design that works with any stamps you may have. I also wanted to introduce you to some stamps for a cause. I think you will like them!

Heat embossing was the first stamping technique that won me over. I still am amazed by it. For these cards, I did simple heat embossing but cut the design to create two cards. You can do this with any stamps!
To make things simple, I used my Mini Misti Stamping Tool, but you could use an acrylic block. On colored cardstock, I white heat embossed sentiments from the Honey Bee Kindness Stamp Set (more on that below) and flowers from the Honey Bee Country Wreath Stamp Set. I was sure to stamp the images in the exact same spot on each piece… especially in the area where I was planning to do the horizontal cut for the split design.
I also heat embossed all the same images in the same spot with colored embossing powder on white cardstock. For the design to look extra-awesome, I made sure my colored embossing powders matched my cardstocks. (You could skip the embossing and use colored ink if you want.)
After I have all the colored embossing on the white cardstock, and the white embossing on the colored cardstock, I cut each piece horizontally… right through the sentiment. It seems weird to do, but I promise the results are worth it!
I then glued the stamped pieces onto a white notecard… matching the opposites up. They line up perfectly!
I love the unique look! I created six cards – two yellow, two pink, and two teal. Yellow is my favorite.
I also wanted to add tiny embossed dot details to the cards. I created the dots with my Quickie Glue Roller Pen and added the embossing powder. After heat setting it, I have the perfect details.
While I had out my supplies, I did a quick bonus card. For this one, I stamped the Honey Bee Country Wreath flowers with black ink and made the flowers bigger by drawing extra petals. I then used the Honey Bee Prayers Stamp Set and Honey Bee Prayers Die Set for the sentiment. Fun and fast!
STAMPS FOR A CAUSE
I am very excited to let you know that for the month of August, both Honey Bee Stamps and Simon Says Stamp will be donating 25% of all sales from the Kindness stamp set and the Kindness die set to the Kind Campaign! The Kind Campaign works with schools to fight bullying.
When I did the Share Handmade Kindness challenge last year, I encouraged folks to share kindness through cardmaking and also donate to the Kind Campaign if possible. I was excited when sweet Melissa from Honey Bee Stamps contacted me about this stamp set and donation. It is great! And hugs to Heidi from Simon Says Stamp for jumping on board, too. I love this industry.
You can buy the Kindness sets at Honey Bee Stamps or Simon Says Stamp. (Note: Due to a likely high demand for these products, please be patient. I promise everyone is doing their best to keep these in stock!)
