Hi! I am back again with some fun sparkle coloring and surprise spinner cards. I am also participating in The 30 Day Coloring Challenge – more info on that below.

I really enjoy stamping a bunch of images and then taking them (along with markers and scissors) on the go. This is a great way to make the best use of my time. Today I used some of those on-the-go-colored-images to create surprise spinner cards.

I got carried away with these cards! I stamped a bunch of adorable Clearly Besotted images and went to town. Clearly Besotted has some of easiest-to-color images in any theme you can imagine. Also, there are many images in a set that can be used together for fun scenes or for simple cards. (I used the Trouble in a Tutu, You’re Purrfect, Cheering for You, Best Friends, Some Birdie Loves You, Cool Dude, Jump for Joy, and Out of This World stamp sets.)

Be sure to watch the video to see all the examples I created. Each card has a simple stamped panel on the front… colored with various colors of Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens. (I really like the shimmer of these pens. They are fun to take on the go because you can blend them and get watercolor-like coloring. I will have a color chart for you soon!)

In addition to the cheerleading pandas, I also really like the dancing hippos from the new Clearly Besotted Trouble in a Tutu stamp set. Isn’t she cute?

When you open it up, a ballerina pops up and spins. I created this spinning element by stamping, coloring, and cutting two images and gluing them back-to-back with string between. The string is stretched from the front of the card to the back of the card. So easy! However, to have the two images to put back-to-back, the images need to be mirror images of each other. Therefore I did a mirror stamping technique to get the two hippos. But keep in mind – if an image is symmetrical (like the panda above), you don’t need to do mirror stamping – just stamp it twice.

And for all my kitty-loving friends…

The Clearly Besotted You’re Purrfect Stamp Set is so cute! And this jumping/spinning kitten even warms the heart of this dog-lover. 🙂

Again, be sure to watch the whole video to see all the card examples I created. These are addictive! Oh – and HERE is another video with a similar spinning feature.

I love to colour but colouring on the go is something I have not thought of doing. At the moment I am usually on the go with 22 month old twin boys, so getting organised with just their stuff is full on and then keeping an eye on them both is a job and a half for me! I will definitely keep it in mind for the future though when they are older and I am taking them to various activities. Thank you so much for the wonderful inspiration with your amazing cards and for the chance to win too. Hugs Bev x

I do color on the go and it makes very interesting conversation starters. I was coloring in the doctors office waiting for him to come in and when he did he wanted to talk about what I was coloring.

  8. Jackie says:

Those are too cute! I don’t color on the go, but the next time I take a trip to Ohio to see the grandbabies I might have to take some coloring things along to do in the hotel at night.

Love all your cards. I never color on the go but I will have to try it one of these day. I need practice coloring with my alcohol markers.

I should really start coloring on the go. I don’t know why I don’t use my fifteen minute break at work to do that. These cards are so cute!

Oh my stars…your cards are sheer delights, especially the hippo ballerina! Ultra cute! Yes, I colour on the go…sometimes on card panels I’ve stamped; other times, in my Tropical images colouring book. I don’t have copics, so I rely on my very small collections of Prismacolours and polychromos pencils. Love colouring…

  39. Bunny says:

I do color on the go if it’s going to be more than 3 days. I like to make the sample(s) ahead of time so I know what colors to bring. I just bring the stamped images and totally full Copic markers. I find there’s always a little down time. If there are going to be children I print extra various images for them to color with their crayons or markers.

  40. Robyn I says:

I haven’t tried coloring on the go yet, but it sounds fun! Thanks for the tips.

  41. Kim Walker says:

Such an adorable card! One of these days I am going to try a spinner card!!

I never color on the go because when I am on the go…I am on the go! With 3 boys in travel soccer, I am shuffling kids around all evening and never get the chance to sit down and color. It’s always.. drop kid A off and then go back and get kid B. Drop Kid B off and pick up kid A and take him to where Kid C is practicing….it’s always so busy!!!

  42. Christine Meinel says:

I color on the go. I went on a British Landscape tour and I had my color bag on the plane both ways. I never would have made it without my coloring. And, what a great reason to buy a new coloring book.

  43. Lisa says:

I am about to go on holiday and for the first time, I am taking my supplies with me so yes I will be colouring on the go! these spinner cards are so fun, I am a big fan of Clearly Besotted. thanks for all the inspiration Jennifer, and for the wonderful videos.
