Pattern Stamping + Sparkle Coloring + Hero Arts Love + Blog Hop + Giveaway!

Hi! Today’s video shows pattern stamping and sparkle coloring… and much more! Along with a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen Color Chart, I also share the story of how Hero Arts made this stamping community so great. And one more thing… this post is part of a fun coloring challenge hop.

In this video, I tell the story of how I feel Hero Arts has made a great and positive impact on our industry and many artists. I also show how you can use your MISTI for pattern stamping and Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens for shiny coloring.

I will be honest – the pattern stamping technique is best understood by watching it in action in the video. I used the Hero Arts Friends by Lia Stamp Set for the gold embossed sentiment in the center, and the Hero Arts Just for You by Lia Stamp Set for the flowers radiating from the center.

I made several examples (you can never have enough cards to send!), changing the design and colors each time.

This technique works with pretty much any stamps. It is a great way to use many images from one set, too.

On some of the cards, I filled the space with pattern stamping. In others, I left lots of white space.

By the way, if you don’t have a MISTI, check out THIS video on doing this technique with an acrylic block.

You could color this with any markers you have. I used the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens because I thought the added shimmer would be fun with the gold embossing.

I tell ya – I had such fun creating these. Not sure which my favorite is!

SPECTRUM NOIR SPARKLE PENS COLOR CHART

I put together a FREE color chart download for the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens. These pens have color and shimmer and are fun for taking on-the-go. (I still really like the Wink of Stella Shimmer Pens – whose tip I actually like better – but these have a touch more shimmer.)

Click HERE for the free download.

Here is the color chart filled in. I have all but one color and am hoping I didn’t miss any! Oh – and below the color name I put which 3-color pack it is from. (You can find the markers HERE.)

Remember – you can mix these colors together as you use them! You can learn more about these pens in THIS video.

  1. I really enjoy using Hero Arts products. I love using the shadow inks … so versatile in creating really great techniques and cards. Especially love the Hero Arts Stamp & Die sets … really great products! Enjoy watching your videos and techniques.

  2. I have a few things from Hero Arts – I think some stamps and stamp cleaner. I’d love to check out some more of their products. I don’t own too many “basic” stamps, and the two sets in this post look really useful.

These cards are gorgeous. I’m off to watch the video (which is what brought me here in the first place) and hope this is something I’ll be able to try tonight with my existing supplies. Thank you!

  3. This technique is terrific and the stamp set is beautiful! I have the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens and am delighted to see a new way of using them! I just got my misti and can see the precision provided with using smaller stamps like these for a detailed pattern. You make everything appear so easy. Thank you.

  4. It is amazing how a stamp changes when you use it, or color it, differently. Also what the white highlighting does. Thanks for the samples and the video. I use a lot of H A products [recently bought the cactus set and am loving it] and they do a great job creating new products for us.

  5. If I had to pick one company, Hero Arts would be it. I love their stamps and dies and use them all the time!

  6. I don’t know what’s going on with my name (it’s LeahMarie), but anyway, Hero Arts is my favorite. I’ve sent out a bunch of cards with the flamingo layering stamp and everyone loves them! I’m going to have to try this card too. Thanks for the inspiration!

  7. Jennifer I cannot find the Just for You set on any of the sites. Do you know status of it? Thank you very much! Super cute!!

  8. I love the Nordic design of your card. The vellum guide is so brilliant. Unfortunately Hero Arts doesn’t sell this set anymore. The set I found is manufactured by Fiskars. The quality is very poor. If anyone has a Hero Arts set they would be willing to sell, I’m interested!
