Surprise Slider Cards

Hello there! I am not sure there is anything more fun to create than a card with a surprise. Well… today I show how to create a surprise slider card…

Nothing is more fun than an interactive card! Especially when it includes a surprise. Today I used the new My Favorite Things Twice The Wishes Kit to create surprise slider cards, but you could create the elements by hand.

For the first card, I created a one-tier cake. But when you pull on the little tab on the top of the card, a second tier is revealed!

Isn’t that fun??

I created the cake using the dies in the My Favorite Things Twice The Wishes Kit, and heat embossed the sentiments from the kit’s stamp set. I decorated the cake with Nuvo White Crystal Dots and Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pens. (Those Nuvo White Crystal Dots are great for quick, inexpensive, dimensional accents!)

My second card is a variation of the first. This time, when you pull on the tab, a cute little bear pops out!

The bear is from the My Favorite Things Beary Special Birthday Stamp Set.

Be sure to watch the video to see how these were put together using the My Favorite Things Twice The Wishes Kit. However – again – you can make these elements on your own, but the kit does make it easy!

I have made many interactive cards from shaker cards to zipper pulls to slider cards. I am so excited about this kit! I ordered it the minute it went live. I liked the other MFT card kits, but only maybe one element in it, which didn’t make the kit worth purchasing for me. But, this kit was a must have! Thanks for your inspiration! I love your cards, as always!

  47. Rosy Newlun says:

Aloha Jennifer! These are so exquisite! But I will need to watch your video several times to full understand building the sliding track, what those little white stem things do, whether we can substitute another item in its place, etc. It went by so fast! The result is a WOW POW card!!! I do make interactive cards, as often as possible, especially for our grandchildren. They are more interested in cards that can “do stuff” other than just sit on a desk lol!!! Very best wishes – enjoy your much need vacay!!!

I’ve never made a pop-up, pull or slider card., just shakers. I have a few of the MFT kits and feel that they are well worth the cost. Thanks for doing a video on them.
