Surprise Slider Cards

Hello there! I am not sure there is anything more fun to create than a card with a surprise. Well… today I show how to create a surprise slider card

Nothing is more fun than an interactive card! Especially when it includes a surprise. Today I used the new My Favorite Things Twice The Wishes Kit to create surprise slider cards, but you could create the elements by hand.

For the first card, I created a one-tier cake. But when you pull on the little tab on the top of the card, a second tier is revealed!

Isn’t that fun??

I created the cake using the dies in the My Favorite Things Twice The Wishes Kit, and heat embossed the sentiments from the kit’s stamp set. I decorated the cake with Nuvo White Crystal Dots and Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pens. (Those Nuvo White Crystal Dots are great for quick, inexpensive, dimensional accents!)

My second card is a variation of the first. This time, when you pull on the tab, a cute little bear pops out!

The bear is from the My Favorite Things Beary Special Birthday Stamp Set.

Be sure to watch the video to see how these were put together using the My Favorite Things Twice The Wishes Kit. However – again – you can make these elements on your own, but the kit does make it easy!

  1. very nice. I want to make some action cards b/c I have not done any of those yet.. but soon. This was a fun idea to make the top tier come out like that, thanks for sharing!

  2. SO CUTE!!! I love MFT products. I’ve done the slider cards and shaker cards but never like this. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Do shaker cards count as being interactive? If so, then I’ve created quite a few of those – last year’s holiday cards (100+) included snow globe shakers, and I’ve done several others throughout the year.
If not, then I’ve only created about 20 interactive cards so far: a couple sliders (none with pull tabs though) and some wobble ones for my daughter’s birthday party invitations.
MFT keeps coming out with some amazing kits, and this one looks like fun! Thanks for sharing & for the chance to win!

  4. As a subscriber from Sydney, Australia, I love your videos and review them all. I have made slider cards in the past but this one is so cute and much simpler that my previous efforts. I just had to have the MFT set but when I checked it had sold out. I wonder if you would consider an international subscriber for your draw. Best Wishes
