I find no-line coloring to be very intimidating. However in this video, guest artist Michelle Short shares many tips to making the technique much more approachable.
Michelle suggests to stamp the image using a light Copic-friendly ink and then stamp it on a scrap paper using black ink. She lines the two images up using a light box underneath to help see the lines better. (You could also use a window!) She also suggests using floral images since they are more forgiving.
Isn’t that Clearly Besotted Friends Forever floral image gorgeous?
Michelle spends a bit on time on her coloring so she keeps the rest of her cards simple. I love her use of white space with a pop of her amazing coloring. I hope this inspires you to try this technique… with Copics, pencils, or other coloring mediums. I know I will now!
Thank you Michelle for guesting on my blog. You can find more of Michelle’s work on her blog, The Card Grotto, and also on her YouTube channel.
