My Favorite Things: DIES & Die Cutting Essentials + Giveaways

Welcome back to My Favorite Crafty Things 2015!

Over the next several days, I will be sharing my favorite crafty products of 2015. Each day will have a different topic with videos. I have lots to share, including big giveaways (see below) and even store discounts:

  • Simon Says Stamps is offering my readers 10% off site-wide using the code “JenCrafty” from 12/1/15 until 11:59pmEST on 12/15/15.
  • Ellen Hutson is offering my readers 10% off site-wide using the code “jensfaves” from 12/1/15 until 11:59pmEST on 12/12/15.
  • As you are shopping, please keep in mind that these stores and many of the stamp manufacturers had HUGE sales last week so inventory may be low. Please know that they have already placed re-orders! Also, I didn’t decide until last minute to do this series, so I didn’t give them much notice – my apologies. I explained more in my video.

Let’s get going! Today I am focusing on dies and die cutting essentials.

My Favorite Crafty Things Dies by Jennifer McGuire Ink

I have TWO videos today. One on dies and the other on die cutting essentials. First let’s look at dies…

{Warning: This video is pretty long. You can instead just check out the dies below. All products are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails. Affiliate links may be used. To watch the video in HD on YouTube, click HERE.]

If you are interested in any products, click on one of the abbreviations under the product images… SSS for Simon Says Stamp, EH for Ellen Hutson or the manufacturer’s abbreviation.

    Hello Jennifer,
Thanks for the great sharing your favorite 2015 things. Favorite for me are the circle dies with the faux stitching or cross stitches. Circle represents unity and all things coming together.
Happy holidays to you and your family.
    Cheers!

  3. Alyce says:

I love all your work! I Love your ideas and Kristina’s as well. I do Scrap booking albums for my family. I try using all the techniques I can . I just started using dies and I love them!!! Me and my friend Veronica ( she is a card maker) have lots of brain storm moments and create amazing things. I love all the basic dies like circles and squares. And I am starting to love the very detailed ones. with tiny small parts like butterfly wings.
I always watch you videos right the second no matter what i am doing in the kitchen, outside school when i wait for my girls or at night in bed with my husband. jijijiji

Thank you, JM for sharing. My favorite from your video has to be the MFT Interactive Window Die set. I’m a beginner to crafting and with some of the other items in my arsenal I can make an array of cards with die.

  8. RandellynB says:

Great video and love the idea of the magnetic bowl, that’s genius!

  9. Monica Maier says:

I love the Lawn Fawn stitched border dies, they are versatile. I like to use them on the edges or across the middle of the card!!!

  10. Kayleen says:

Loving the cloud dies! I think I also need to invest in the metal shim!!!! Thanks for the tip.

  11. Jessica says:

I like the one coming soon that is all the little hearts stacked together to for a back ground or can be cut apart. It is a die that has great potential.

  12. I love putting little notes in my daughters lunch bag so my fave is definitely the Waffle Flower Mini Trifold Notes die. Thank you for putting together such a useful and informative series! Happy Holidays!!

  13. Sandy N. says:

I love dies! They are my go to when making cards. The Lawn Fawn Stitched Border has been on my wish list since you introduced me to it on a video. Thanks to you my wish has just gotten longer. Great videos, with loads of techniques and tips.

The new stacked hearts is my fave, I guess, ’cause who doesn’t LOVE a bunch of little hearts?!

  18. Kris says:

That’s hard but I’d say the Hero Arts Hello. I think their prices are good for stamp and matching die!

  19. Nancy says:

I don’t own any of the dies that you show in the video but i can tell you which ones i like from what i saw 🙂 The one with the little hearts connected and the one with the nested rectangles are the ones that i like the most.

There are so many! I love the Waffle Flower doily die. I love how delicate the pieces look, so dainty and elegant. Thanks for the chance ro win

  23. Amber P says:

Holly Wow! There are some really amazing dies on this list! I just found some new ones for my wish list! 🙂 I think I’m most impressed with the fishtail banners die and the quilted swirl stitched pattern background die. I have tried to make my own fishtail banners using the corner of a rectangle die, but they never seem to turn out quite right. Mostly they are crooked or uneven. But those notches to line up the fishtail banner die would make it so easy!! Love it! <3

  24. craftincaly says:

Love all the dies you mentioned above, but I’m really looking forward to Lawn Fawn’s new dies in their next release! Thanks for the sneak peak! I put a lot of these items on my wishlist after watching your video!

  25. Lindsay says:

I like the hello die, because it can be used for any occasion and very versatile.

  26. Susan G. says:

I like all of them, but think I would get the most use out of the Hello stamp and die set. I really appreciate this video as you always come up with great recommendations for new ones to try. I have some basic dies, but none of the ones you recommended. They are all on my wish list.

  27. Andrea C says:

Love love love those puffy clouds dies!!!

  28. Karen O'Reilly says:

I really like the MFT Stitched edges I like how they cut in different angles. I also like the Memory Box houses, I can think of lots of things to do with them.

  29. Dottie J says:

Just ONE favorite? Any stitched or pierced shape is a winner with me. I do love the Blessed word die and the praying for you words die. I seem to make more birthday cards than any other, but actually send more sympathy and encouragement cards. I need more words and sentiments along those lines.

  30. theCook says:

My favorite die is the waffle flower doily circle.

  31. I love the Waffle Flower mini trifold note die. It is so unique. I always discover new companies and products watching your videos:)

Thanks for these videos, they really are a big help.

  34. Rose J says:

They are all so great but for versatility I think the Hero Arts Hello with matching stamps is something I would use all the time. Followed closely by all of them lol!

  35. Marillyn Arendt says:
