I just can’t stop making these fun felt ornaments! In the video, I share lots of tips for creating these cute guys… hopefully with some supplies you already have on hand.
I used a variety of felts on these ornaments. I recommend using a felt that isn’t super cheap or super expensive – – I found that middle of the road is best. I link to some felts I used (Giant Assorted Felt Pack, Small Felt Squares, Pastel Felt, 9×12 Felt), but you can also check your craft store or the selection at Papertrey Ink.
First, I share tips for stitching the ornaments and stuffing them for dimension. The Memory Box Plush Bundled Snowman Die is one of the easiest to create… and there are many ways to change it up for different looks. On one, I stitched the Winnie and Walter Joy die cut. On another, I used Therm O Web Hot Melt Adhesive Sheets and my Mini Minc Machine (or iron!) to add a red foil Winnie and Walter Merry die cut.
I kept the Memory Box Plush Frosty Mitten and Holly Stocking open on the top so I could put small gifts inside. I also added a silver foil Hero Arts Joy die cut to one. The small Memory Box Plush Holly Leaves and Berries are great for adding accents.
Check out that shine…
The Memory Box Plush Bright Heart Die is great for quick ornaments. I also added white felt Memory Box Embossed Angel Wings with the coordinating Memory Box Lacy Angel Wings details in silver foil.
The Memory Box Plush Celestial Star Die is also fun and a great way to use unique felt colors.
And isn’t the Memory Box Plush Sheldon (mini snowman) adorable? And on this stocking ornament, I added the Memory Box Plush Baby Heart.
If you aren’t into sewing, you can also use glue to piece felt together. The Reverse Confetti Layered Snowflake Dies make the most intricate and beautiful ornaments… in paper or felt. I also added lots of gems, pearls and Lucy’s Sequins.
There are many possibilities for arranging the pieces of this die set, which you can see in the key HERE.
You can find the various embellishments, tools, etc. that I used to create these ornaments in the thumbnails at the end of this post. But keep in mind that you can likely use supplies you already have on hand, including many dies.
