I just can’t stop making these fun felt ornaments! In the video, I share lots of tips for creating these cute guys… hopefully with some supplies you already have on hand.

I used a variety of felts on these ornaments. I recommend using a felt that isn’t super cheap or super expensive – – I found that middle of the road is best. I link to some felts I used (Giant Assorted Felt Pack, Small Felt Squares, Pastel Felt, 9×12 Felt), but you can also check your craft store or the selection at Papertrey Ink.

First, I share tips for stitching the ornaments and stuffing them for dimension. The Memory Box Plush Bundled Snowman Die is one of the easiest to create… and there are many ways to change it up for different looks. On one, I stitched the Winnie and Walter Joy die cut. On another, I used Therm O Web Hot Melt Adhesive Sheets and my Mini Minc Machine (or iron!) to add a red foil Winnie and Walter Merry die cut.

I kept the Memory Box Plush Frosty Mitten and Holly Stocking open on the top so I could put small gifts inside. I also added a silver foil Hero Arts Joy die cut to one. The small Memory Box Plush Holly Leaves and Berries are great for adding accents.

Check out that shine…

The Memory Box Plush Bright Heart Die is great for quick ornaments. I also added white felt Memory Box Embossed Angel Wings with the coordinating Memory Box Lacy Angel Wings details in silver foil.

The Memory Box Plush Celestial Star Die is also fun and a great way to use unique felt colors.

And isn’t the Memory Box Plush Sheldon (mini snowman) adorable? And on this stocking ornament, I added the Memory Box Plush Baby Heart.

If you aren’t into sewing, you can also use glue to piece felt together. The Reverse Confetti Layered Snowflake Dies make the most intricate and beautiful ornaments… in paper or felt.  I also added lots of gems, pearls and Lucy’s Sequins.

There are many possibilities for arranging the pieces of this die set, which you can see in the key HERE.

You can find the various embellishments, tools, etc. that I used to create these ornaments in the thumbnails at the end of this post. But keep in mind that you can likely use supplies you already have on hand, including many dies.

  1. I love using my paper crafting supplies to make everything imaginable! I use punches & dies on sugar sheets for cupcake toppers!
I hope your emergency works out – prayers for you & your family!

    ❤️

  2. I love to make all sorts of crafts and love to incorporate using dies for decorations for the holidays in addition to decorations for baked items. Lovely, just lovely ornaments and ideas!!! Thank. You so much for sharing and the opportunity to win! Hope everything turns out ok for you and your emergency situation.
    Hugs,

  3. My daughter sometimes uses my ribbons and buttons for her sewing projects. I occasionally use my papercraft supplies to decorate school book covers and for my kids to use in school projects. They are also great for gift wrapping (stamped wrapping paper) and treat bags for kids parties and packaging handbaked items at Christmas.

  4. I have used my paper supplies to create other crafty projects for my home. It is actually nice to have this go to stash on hand.
    Thanks!

  5. I have used my crafty supplies for VBS, Sunday School and AWANA and homeschool co-ops. In fact that was why I got my now retired Ellison XL letter machine, to make cutting multiples so much easier for the crafts to go along with the Bible stories. I was so excited when the red sizzix machine came out because the dies were cheaper. Yep, I’m old.

  6. I use paper crafting supplies in floral arrangements, to decorate stuffed Santas, Snowmen, bunnies, etc….

Thanks for the tips on the felt ornaments!

  7. Oh my word those are so cute!!! Yes I have used my stuff for other hobbies. Most recently was using the cricut to cut some designs for my husbands radio control airplane! 🙂

  8. Hi there! I have never have used my paper crafting supplies to do other crafts, but I’m getting a Sizzix Bigkick machine soon. (It’s supposed to arrive TODAY!) 🙂 Anyway, I’m looking forward to creating all sorts of stuff with my Bigkick and dies. I have 3 unopened packages of dies, that arrived last week; — the dies and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our die cutter. 🙂

  9. Since I am new to the paper crafting world and still collecting dies and stamps for my inventory, I have not used used dies for anything other than paper. I was stoked to watch your video using the dies for felt cutting. I loved it. Loved the colors. I could see myself making these adorable plush felties. Thanks for the inspiration!

  10. I use my supplies to make banners for the DFW Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. I’ve cut plastic, felt, fabric, you name it, I’ve probably cut it 😀

  11. I have used my supplies to make wedding table give aways and my daughter has used my supplies on many a school project. Thanks for the chance to win 🙂

  12. I use my supplies for a little bit of everything! Everytime I do a project I am pulling something from my supply stash! Your ornaments are super cute!

  13. Oh so cute! I love felt ornaments! When my boys were in school, I would often offer up some of my supplies if they were working on a project or craft for school. I haven’t worked on many other crafts for a while now – been too busy making Christmas cards!! Thanks Jennifer, Lucy’s Cards and Winnie and Walter.

  14. I use dies to cut shrink plastic to make ornaments, and embellishments as well.
these are too cute not to put on a tree or give to a friend.

  15. I ever make another craft like felt flowers and collected it
I sometimes use it for my card too
I am not so creative but I helped my son too to make his christmas sock by him self and using my craft stock too
thanks for the chance to win Jennifer
hope you will back soon and all is ok with you ..I pray for you dear

  16. WOW!! I am in love with these felt ornaments!! I am a teacher so I am always using my paper crafting supplies to make bulletin boards, books, decorations, etc. for my classroom and students:)

  17. Better than crafts, I’ve used my circle dies to cut out non slip shelf liner to use in the car cup holder area. Something “useful” for my husband 🙂

  18. I’m afraid I pretty much use my paper crafting supplies on paper. Guess I’ll have to get more creative. Thanks for the inspiration!

  19. About 8 years ago I started a project with my old Sizzix machine cutting out a bunch of felt gingerbread men from an die cut I have and decorated them with little red heart buttons over where their heart would be and embroidered their faces, used a little rickrack to look like icing and stuffed them. My plan was to stitch them together at their hands and hang them across the fireplace mantel but I never got them done. now I’m motivated to finish them up! Thank you.

  22. I am new to the paper crafting, and just starting to build up my collection of stamps and dies, but I’m so excited to start putting into action everything I’ve been learning. You are my favorite when it comes to tutorials. Thanks for all that you share!

  23. I think the strangest thing I ever used my crafting supplies for was something my husband needed to stick to something in the garage – it was some tool he needed to repair. Scrapbook Ultra Tape to the rescue!! I call it red tape as it is just as daunting to get the tape off as it is to “get through red tape” in life!
    Happy Crafting, Jennifer!

  24. I use my paper crafting supplies for many different things – such as using die cut flourishes and other shapes in my mixed media work for texture; using stamps and stencils and foils on fabric to embellish stitched work; using thin metal sheets with embossing folders in the big shot then adding patina – such pieces may get used for creating jewelry or as embellishments on book covers…these supplies can be used in such diverse ways

  25. Yes, indeed! I use craft supplies to decorate the chocolate store where I work. I also use them for cupcake and cake toppers, party decorations, name tags, etc.

  26. Usually I just make cards, but I do teach kid’s Bible class, so sometimes, I do use some of my stuff for that. Like once, I did a Jonah craft with my cricut by making a fish. The kids loved it!

  27. Yes, I always use my papercrafting supplies for other projects. I love having all of the resources in my craft room cross into different “genres” of creativity 🙂

I hope everything is okay with you and your family.

  28. I love having my paper crafts on hands for other things, my daughter’s are always happy and have some of the best projects at school due to my inks, dies, punches, cricut, etc.

  29. Now that I have a new 4 yr old grandson, I am looking at these dies in a whole new light. These would be perfect projects to enhance fine motor skills. He is very crafty and artistic, so I know he would love them. Maybe we could make an ornament for him to give to his mommy for Christmas. That would be wonderful, plus it would be a way to connect both his families.

  30. I use my stamp in the wood when I am practicing wood burning 🙂 and my circle die in the recycle cloth for hair accessories 😀
