A Special Version of “Worth Checking Out” + Giveaway!

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving to many of you! I pray your day is blessed with family, friend, and yummy food.

I just wanted to pop in to share some things that are worth checking out. But I need to explain it a bit…

This has unexpectedly been a tough week for me. When I realized I was going to have to drop most of my plans for the last week of the Share Handmade Kindness Challenge, I was crushed. I have put my heart and soul into this… but my heart and soul just could not pull together this last week as planned. And I knew this week’s challenge needed the most examples.

I told my dear friend Jana Millen this. What did she do? She contacted a few of my crafty friends and they all pulled together some great ideas (with little notice) for me to share here with you. I can’t tell you what this means to me… and how much I appreciate these crafty friends.

So – without further ado – here are some fantastic ideas for Week 4 of the Share Handmade Kindness Challenge… ways to share kindness with strangers….

(1.) Heather Ruwe – Heather (who I am blessed to have work with me!) is so creative and always has great, clever ideas. Head over to her blog to see some fun ways to surprise movie renters, kids in waiting rooms, etc.

(2.) Jana Millen –Jana (who has the biggest heart in the whole wide world) has some easy to do ideas on her blog to leave encouraging messages for strangers and to add a little handmade touch to gift cards.

(3.) Debby Hughes – Debby (who I wish I could have tea with each and every morning) decided to take some cards to a local nursing home for them to enjoy. I can only imagine the joy this will bring to those who receive them!

(4.) Suz Dahlberg – Suz (who is the queen of clean-and-simple-yet-uber-creative cards) cleverly combined the Card Shower challenge with this week’s challenge and created a beautiful card to send to a child who needs a smile.

(5.) Barb Engler – Imagine shopping in a store and receiving a beautiful handmade card in your shopping bag. That is what Barb (who makes me smile ear to ear so very often) plans to do to surprise customers that she waits on during her job.

(6.) Lydia Fiedler – Lydia (who is on the top of my list of favorite people) enlists the help of her Costco greeter to surprise strangers shopping at the store with small gift cards towards their holiday meals.

Please, please, please head to each of their blogs and leave them some kind words. The world needs more people like these ladies.

(Jana, Heather, Debby, Suz, Barb, and Lydia – I thank you from the bottom of my heart and love you each so much.)
