Hello. Today’s video is an update for fine-tip, no-clog, adhesive solutions.

My two favorite adhesives are Ranger’s Glossy Accents and Multi Medium Matte. Glossy Accents is a clear, strong adhesive that I like to put on top of embellishments for some shine. Multi Medium Matte is a very strong adhesive that dries matte. However, I find that changing out the tips of these bottles gives a better application and prevents them from clogging. I had done a video on this awhile back but wanted to update it as I get a lot of emails asking if these solutions still work.

For small bottles (such as the Mini Glossy Accents and Multi Medium Matte), I like to take the nozzle off with pliers and replace it with the Quilled Creations fine-tip nozzle. When placing the cap back on, press lightly. Pushing too hard may result in getting it stuck or damaging the needle. Also, I’ve found that the connector piece can come off, which I don’t mind at all, but it’s a personal preference.

For large bottles (such as the large Glossy Accents), I remove the nozzle with pliers and replace it with the Scraperfect No-Clog Writing Cap. I suggest wiping the tip off of glossy accents before placing the cap back on. I really like that the needle in the cap prevents clogging.

Another solution that is cost effective is placing a plastic hang tie (off of clothing) inside the applicator. No need for the cap and it prevents clogging as well.

There are many options out there (trust me – I think I tried them all!), but these have worked the best for me. Hopefully, one of these will work for you too!

I use most often multi matte medium but I love the aqua from tombow too and gel glue from scotch. I use the glossy accent just for glossy 🙂

I love the Multi medium adhesive. The tip would be a welcome addition as I could really use it on detailed card appliqués. Thanks for the give away chance.

I’m in the same boat as Trisha and am still trying things out as I come across them. Luckily the glossy accents were on sale at a local craft store when I first started to experiment. I still haven’t tried matte and will be putting that on my list.

  11. Beth K says:

I just recently purchased the glossy accents and haven’t had a chance to get into it yet but I am looking forward to using is. I love how it looks on you all’s projects.

The matte multi medium is great and after I saw you use it on your cards I had to have some, it is now my go to for making sure nothing comes loose. I did have trouble with my glossy accents until I watched your video showing how to clean the nozzle and let the air flow and have had no trouble since. Thank you for always sharing the helpful things that you come across.

  15. Judith says:

These look great and would love to try them. Right now, I am using Scotch tacky glue in a fine line applicator. Thanks so much for all that you do in keeping us informed!

  16. Catrinel Wright says:

My favourite is Kuretake Zig pen adhesive, v easy to use and you can wiggle things around a bit before they are permanently glued on.

  17. Karen L K says:

My favorite liquid adhesive is 3 in 1 by Beacon.

  18. I love your card making videos. They are interesting and informative 🙂

As for these two adhesives, I have not used any of them. The one I regularly use for my crafts is the from Elmers. But I am planning to try both of these now.

What a GREAT post and tips on preventing clogged adhesive nozzles! I have the worst problem with that and figured there was no solution until I read your article. My favorite liquid adhesive is Glossy Accents, which I use for everything!

  22. Denise G says:

Fabulous video and love all the tips on stopping the clogging of adhesives.. My favourite is Glossy Accents I use it for everything too.

  23. Kylie S says:

I like using the Tombow Multi Liquid glue but I completely forgot about the Glossy Accents I have somewhere…..must get it out again. I love those tips you showed.

  24. J Win says:

For years I used Beacon’s 3-in-1, it was really great with embellishments. Then I finally tried the Multi Medium Matte after watching you use it so much. Funny, how you have a way of enabling me! LOL. It has become my go to glue for everything now. Having it dry to a matte finish really makes a difference. I’ve used the plastic hang ties on my bottles for years – quick, easy, doesn’t rust and I have plenty of them. For once I was ahead of the curve on that one. Thanks for your generous giveaways.

  25. Arlene Paterra says:

Glossy Accents is my favorite glue. I use it for a lot of my projects. But I do hate having to unclog it all the time. This sounds like the perfect answer. I have not been able to find the Multi Medium Matte in the stores. It sounds like it would be another favorite. Thanks for all the tips.

  26. gina says:

I have always had clogged glue bottles and its kind of irritating. Thank you so much for this fabulous tips! Why didn’t I think of that? 🙂

  27. Kristen C says:

My favorite is Tombow liquid glue. While I don’t have these that you mention, I have a similar trick to keep these types of nozzles from clogging. I also sew and I use a “dressmaker” pin that has a small, flat head to put into the nozzle. This allows me to still cap the bottle.

  28. Karen O. says:

I would LOVE to win some of these! Thank you for the chance 🙂

  29. Ann Bedard says:

It’s so hard to fine a good glue that also is easy and properly applies. This looks great.

  30. Carol March says:

I have Glossy Accents and love it. Just got the Quilled Precision Tip Glue Bottle and haven’t tried it yet, but am looking forward to it. Saw your video a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for the tip!

  31. Fran says:

My favorite liquid adhesive is Tombow Mono Multi. Thank you for the tips for no clogging.

  32. Amante del Papel says:

My favorite is the multimedium mate!!! thanks for the chance!

  33. staceylovespaper says:

Right now my favorite liquid adhesive is Tombo mono multi, but only because my ranger multi matte medium is a brush bottle and very hard to apply a tiny amount. I would love the precision applicator, that would make my crafting a lot easier!!

  34. Kathy H says:

I used to use the Tombo Mono Multi, but I tried the multi medium matte after seeing it on one of your videos and now that’s my favorite glue.

  35. Dee in NH says:

hands down, my most used is multi-matte medium. Great video!

  36. Dawn Skene says:

I like rubber cement if I have a large area to glue but I like Glossy Accents for adding embellishments. Thanks for the video and all of your suggestions!

  37. My favorite adhesive is the Multi Matte Medium. I bought the big bottle of this and was using a toothpick to dab small amounts to whatever I need to adhere. I saw your glue applicator and was on the lookout for it here in local beauty stores but it is just not available in store. Then, I watched your video on precision tips. I bought the Fine Line tip applicators with the bottles. What I failed to notice is that it comes with different needle gauges. I bought the #20, transferred my Glossy Accents and the Multi Matte Medium (yeah, from the big bottle) into the bottles that came with it. It didn’t work out for me. I have to exert a lot of force to push the Glossy Accents out of the needle. If you have Carpal Tunnel or arthritis, this just won’t work. And with the MMM, it just wouldn’t come out. I don’t know if the MMM comes thicker if you buy it in those big jars, or the needle gauge is too small, or the bottle is not as pliable as the Glossy Accents bottle. So, with this frustration, and not wanting to put to waste these items, I modified the tips. I changed the #20 needle with a #16 plastic IV catheter. It worked with the Glossy Accents but not w/ the MMM. I just purchased the Quilled Precision and a small MMM bottle hoping the experience will be better this time. Sorry for a very long comment. I thought of just sharing this with you and your other followers.

  38. Pat Patch says:

I am so impressed with your tips and ideas that you share. I just love your work. I am a rather new card maker (all most 2 years) and have spent so much money trying different adhesives. The one that I like so far is Tombow multi liquid glue. It is sometimes messy and your fingers get stuck occasionally. It seems to hold the paper together well especially when using the heavier Tim Holtz Ranger distress collection. I make a lot of pop-up box cards and need adhesive to be strong to keep all the embellishments and box glued well. I have used 2-sided tape adhesive and have had problems with it staying together as well. Thus, I need a recommendation on the best for that kind of adhesive. I am always searching for new information and am open to trying products you recommend.

  39. Lissette says:

I love them both and use them all the time. My favorite though is the multimedium matte. Thank you for sharing!

  40. Jeannie King says:

I love glossy accents – it really does the trick for me! Glad to see the tip for the large bottle, as I use the quilled creations bottles all the time!

  41. Katie Kinde says:

My favorite liquid adhesive would be Mono Adhesive, followed by multimedium for embellishments.

  42. Laura P. says:

What a coincidence that you posted this today! Just yesterday I searched your blog for your favorite adhesives/applicators and now there is an update. My favorite has always been the Glossy Accents, but now that I am reading all the comments showing huge love for the Multi Medium Matte, I must give that a try! Thanks for the great post, and like others have said, for testing the products and giving us your honest opinions.

  43. Katrina says:

I usually use the scotch glue pen with the fine and wide ends.

  44. Carol MacDonald says:

My usual Go-To is ‘Aqua from Tombow’. I love that it has a wide tip on one end and a great small tip on the other end. Used it for years.
I also like the Glossy Accents but never thought of using it as a glue? I use it as a varnish or topping to get a 3-D effect.
Glad to know about the multi matte product as well.
Thanks for showing us the wonderful uses and products out there.

  45. I LOVE the idea of the hang tie to prevent clogging in the fine tip applicators.
I would love to replace the caps on my Matte Medium and Glossy Accents.
Clogging keeps me from using them as much

  46. Angie Hall says:

I use glossy accents a lot and bought the needle tip caps. It worked at first but now I must unscrew the lid to get it flowing again. I still use tape runner too. Thanks

  47. Sandy says:

My favorite glue is double side tape, I really love it, some time is hard to have right placement at the first time but with practice it is really easy to use.

  48. I need to try these tips! Glossy Accents is my favorite for embellishments. I will have to try the Matte Medium to compare. Thanks for the chance!

  49. Shannon Hulbert says:

I use all different types of glue depending on what materials in glueing. I like the matte medium and I use it for my art journaling. I also like Scotch quick dry glue.

  50. Robyn I says:

My favorite liquid adhesive is Multi Medium Matte because it dries matte, and I really like it with the fine tip that you recommended because I used to have problems with too much coming out when I’d squeeze the original bottle. Thanks, Jennifer!
