Interlocking Gatefold Cards
Welcome back! I am really excited about today’s video… where I share a fun interlock gatefold card design. I have many examples in different sizes!

Creating interlocking gatefold cards is very easy. Be sure to watch the video to find out the best measurements and ways to adhere the cards together.
My first card is 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. (I am loving this size card… and I use THESE envelopes to go with them.) I stamped my gatefold card with the new-and-oh-so-lovely Altenew Leaf Clusters Stamp Set (SSS | ALT). I formed the interlocking frame with the Altenew Frilly Frame Die (SSS | ALT). The center piece features the Altenew Welcome Home Stamp Set (SSS | ALT), Simple Alphabet Dies (SSS | ALT), and Sentiment Strips Stamp Set (SSS | ALT).
Here you can see how the gatefold card opens. The frame opens to the left… and the stamped circle opens to the right…
And when the card is opened, there is lots of room to write a personal message inside!
My next example is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. And I will say it – I am in love with the Altenew Peaceful Reverie Stamp Set (SSS | ALT) that I used on the background! Wow. Such a unique look.
I created the interlocking pieces with my Hero Arts Infinity Circle Dies and added a sentiment with the Altenew Simple Alphabet Dies (SSS | ALT) and Sentiment Strips Stamp Set (SSS | ALT).
And – again – there is plenty of room for a message or additional stamping inside.
Background frame dies are also fun to use for these interlocking card designs. This card is again 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and features the Altenew Leaf Frame Die (SSS | ALT). The flower stamps are from the Altenew Delicate Clusters Stamp Set (SSS | ALT) and the sentiment is from the Altenew Leaf Clusters Stamp Set (SSS | ALT).
Look how perfect the Altenew Leaf Frame Die (SSS | ALT) is for an interlocking design!
Honestly, almost any frame die would work with this technique…
This next card is also 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, but with a landscape orientation instead. I stamped the background of the gatefold card with the Altenew Leaf Clusters Stamp Set (SSS | ALT) for a soft look. Stacking die sets are great for creating interlocking pieces… and I used the Hero Arts Rectangle Infinity Dies here.
The lovely flower and leaf images are from the new Altenew Sunflower Daisy Stamp Set (SSS | ALT). I am amazed at how realistic this looks and how easy it is to create!
My last card features another unique stamp set – the Altenew Pattern Power Stamp Set (SSS | ALT). I am amazed how cool this looks stamped!!! These interlocking elements were made with the Hero Arts Infinity Circle Dies.
This design would be great for any occasion!
