I have created different types of see-through cards in the past. (I linked to several below – be sure to check them out!) Today is about using layered die cutting to form these special cards. Be sure to watch my video to see how… with the help of Glad Press N Seal (SSS | AZ) or masking paper (I used Avery Removable Adhesive Sheets).
The front of my first card was created with the new Altenew Virginia Rose Dies (SSS | ALT). These layered dies are fantastic! I also added a sentiment from the Altenew Sentiment Strips Stamp Set (SSS | ALT).
Look at those yummy layers…
Here you can see how the front of the card is see-through. It is made up of overlapping layered die cuts.
When you open it, you see another greeting… and that panel folds down to reveal an area for a personal message.
My next card shows that you can create see-through die cut cards using background dies. However, this time I added Grafix Platinum Vellum to the back instead of leaving it completely open. This again features the Altenew Virginia Rose Dies (SSS | ALT)… along with an Altenew Dainty Blooms Die (SSS | ALT) background and Altenew Script Words Dies (SSS | ALT) “love” sentiment.
Here you can see how the vellum shows to the inside…
And on the inside, is another layered die cut and an Altenew Sentiment Strips Stamp Set (SSS | ALT) sentiment. This also folds down for a personal message.
I have been needing to create an extra-special baby card for an extra-special family. I am hoping this card fits that need! It features the Altenew Layered Stars Dies (SSS | ALT), Halftone Stars Dies (SSS | ALT), Welcome Home Stamp Set (SSS | ALT) and Welcome Home Dies (SSS | ALT). I also used Simon Says Stamp Glitter Cardstock and Studio Katia Gold Sparkle Crystals.
Here you can see how the tips of the stars are connected to form the front of the card…
And when you open, there is a star where you can right a personal message… and it won’t show through the front of the card.
So much fun to make…
My last card features a layering piece I created with the new Altenew Delicate Mandala Die (SSS | ALT). I love the details! Watch the video to see how I turned this single die into a layered look. The sentiment is from the Altenew Weekend Doodles Stamp Set (SSS | ALT).
Loving that detail…
And when you open the front, you can see a flap that you can lift for a personal message.
Here is a look at the see-through feature…
