My Favorite Crafty Things 2018: Adhesive & Paper

Hello! I am back with another episode of My Favorite Crafty Things 2018. Today is all about adhesive and paper.

Important note (and confession): It’s been a challenging few months. Yikes! A couple family members are having health challenges… and life got away from me. I am a giver and I was giving so much that I started to feel weak. Last weekend, while I was snuggling for a nap with Lila (I have been uber sick), I decided to let go of a lot of things. And I felt a lightness that I needed so badly. I know I am not the only one struggling, so I wanted to share in case this helps you feel not-so-alone, too. Hang in there and embrace that light! As part of me letting go of stress, I will not be trying to jam the rest of My Favorite Crafty Things series before the New Year. I apologize for the delay… it all got away from me. I need to focus on my family. I thank you for your understanding. Hugs!

How about several great discount codes from some of our favorite shops? I will be updating this list:

Let’s talk about adhesive and paper…

Having tried many adhesives, I have fallen back on using PVA glue, applied with a fine-tipped bottle for general card making. It is inexpensive and card layers don’t fall apart. Love watching your videos and learning about new products and techniques.

  2. sue w. says:

my favorite adhesives are 3M foam mounting tape and my big ATG gun.

I use Tombow mono, but I dislike the fact that it is sticky after it dries. I’ve tried ranger multi medium, so now I will try GinaK connect and see if I like that any better. Thank you for the suggestions.

  4. Kay S says:

Thanks for another great informative post! I recently switched to using the Gina K runner adhesive as my go to adhesive. Love it! I also got some of the Gina K foam tape and it’s great, but I don’t use it as often as the tape runner.

  5. Donna Dunnagan says:

Thank you, Jennifer. On your recommendation, I tried the Gina K Connect glue this year and immediately fell in love with it. It is my Go-To glue now. Earlier this year, it was out of stock and I tried not to panic. When it came back in stock, I made sure to order enough for a “safety” supply! Plan to try the Gina K foam tape next. I’m teaching classes at a local paper craft boutique and am highlighting this glue as a must-try. Thank you for recommending this product. You are an inspiration to so many of us. I’m so glad you are taking care of YOU. XOXO

  6. Janine Gearhart says:

I appreciate the work you put into these Favorite Things videos. It is a one stop shopping set of videos I look forward to every year. I have a variety of favorite adhesives. I also like the Bee Creative tape and I use the Nuvo glue. After watching your video, I really want to try some of Gina K’s adhesives. On a side note, I met her at a Scrapbook Expo Conference in Arizona and she was just delightful. Thank you for all you do.

  7. Cathie Laurent says:

Really been enjoying your videos. My favorite glue is Glitter Glue. Just purchased Gina K’s Connect glue so will be using both.

  8. Sheila Johnson says:

My favorite adhesive is still the Be Creative tape, probably because I still do a lot of mini albums. and I love the art glitter glue as a wet glue. Cannot wait to try the Gina K adhesive line.

  9. Laurie says:

I love my Gina K connect glue and dot tape runners! I haven’t tried her foam tape yet but that’s next on my list!

  10. Tara Salladay says:

Hi there! I love reading these posts so much. Thank you for sharing them! My favorite adhesive is Art Glitter Glue. It’s a liquid adhesive that works best for me!

  11. Betty Bywater says:

My fav dry adhesive is still Sookwang tape for it’s strength. I do use a AGT gun for adhering my card fronts to the bases. As a former bookbinder I’m old school and use Lineco PVA in a fine line applicator as my liquid glue.

Thanks for another year of wonderful inspiration. Our monthly group usually starts with, “Have you seen/tried what Jennifer posted?”. Yes, you have a fan club in Calgary, Canada. I hope that you are able to take time to rest and recharge. Sometimes we lose that as a priority when wanting to be there for others. Wishing you a New Year filled with health and happiness (with some creativity time).

  12. Diane says:

Hello Jennifer! When using liquid glue, I like Tombow but I will definitely try Gina K. I like it that it makes small dots : )

  13. gurian6 says:

I usually bought adhesives on sale; some are better than others but all seem to work. I do want to try the GinaK adhesives because so many people raved about it, however, it is not available in stores near me. Please take care of yourself and your family. Best wishes!

  14. Laura says:

My current favorite is the mono dots runners, but I always go through them so quickly … I’m looking forward to trying some new ones on this list!

  15. Ann Murray says:

It is good to let go and give yourself time to reinvigorate. And life goes on…
My favorite adhesive is my ATG ‘gun’. I use both the 1/2″ and the 1/4″ and I use the professional framers tape refills. I have never had a problem with the tape refills or projects coming apart. Even though sometimes I wish I could get them apart! LOL I am also a huge fan of the Be Creative Tapes (tear-n-tape). I use Tombow liquid glue quite a bit as well. Every adhesive has its place but those are my 3 go-to.

  16. Sue L says:

I love the My Favorite Crafty Things videos! My favorite adhesive is the ATG Tape Gun. Took a while to adapt to it, but I love it now. I also use the Gina K connect glue for smaller items. Have a Happy and Healthy New Year!

  17. Anna Arthur says:

I have enjoyed this series of videos and will implement those I haven’t used in the year ahead. I appreciate the time you dedicate to helping us all to better create our cards. My go to adhesives are Tombow tape runner, Tonic glue, and Tim Holtz collage glue. I plan to order the Gina K connect glue in the coming year. I wish for you a New Year filled with health and happiness and lots of inner peace.

  18. Judy A. Keener says:

Thank you Jennifer for all you do for us. You are a blessing. I have learned so much from your videos and hearing your voice always lifts me up and inspires me. I too was behind for the holidays, and I let some things go. It felt good to let them fly away without feeling guilty. Merry Christmas and a very blessed New Year.

  19. Bonnie K says:

I recently purchased the Gina K Connect Glue, so I’m hoping it becomes my new favorite.
Sending healing prayers your way – take however much time you need for yourself and your family!

  20. Patricia says:

The only tape adhesive I’ve tried is Sookwang tape. Still use an old Xyron 850 lots. Haven’t found a liquid I like yet so will definitely try the Gina K. In general her products are great. Thanks for all the great training you provide. Take all the time you need. You have provided years worth of great learning already.

  21. Andie72 says:

I thank you again for putting so much time into this series, it’s so nice to hear honest reviews about products from someone who used these products in her every day life. My favourite adhesive has recently become Tombo mono multi glue, I’d never used this before but have totally fallen in love with this. I do have Gina K connect & Lawn Fawn glue sticks to try out yet so this may change after I’ve tried these out. I find many glues difficult to squeeze out having arthritis in my wrist but Tombo seems to take no pressure to get out. Thank you for all the advice in this video .

  22. Jessica says:

I think my favorite adhesive is still Ranger Multi-Medium Matte, even though it clogs easily. I have yet to try the Gina K Connect Glue, but probably should after seeing how easy it is to use.

  23. Christen says:

I just purchased the Gina K connect glue and am excited to have it be a new favorite!! I love your favorite things recommendations. I’m glad you’re taking care of yourself.

  24. carriemcbeath10 says:

I’ve been on the hunt for a new brand of adhesive runner, so your timing was perfect. I currently us the Art Glitter glue with the fine metal tip for a lot of my work. However, I plan on trying both of the Gina K adhesive products. Thanks for all of the great recommendations. I’ve added a lot to my wish list.

  25. bethr1776ad says:

Thank you for doing this, and all your videos, for us. I can’t imagine the amount of work it takes. And then to add family health issues. We share the same source of that Light, so I’ll be praying for you all.
Back to the question, I love Gina K. Connect Glue. I’ve been using it for about 6 months, and it’s done everything like you said in the video.

    Hugs, Beth (“Jesus Calling”)

  26. Roni Fajardo says:

Hello, Jennifer. Thank you for sharing the challenges you’ve had in the recent months, hope you and everyone in your family are feeling much better. Often times, letting go of stuff may be healthy for our mind, body & soul.
My favorite adhesives are the Tim Holts adhesive sheets! Easy to use, always gives great results, and well worth the price.
    Take care, xo

  27. Diana says:

I love the Stick It Adhesive sheets and Lawn Fawn glue tube.
Take care of yourself and I hope you feel better soon.

  28. Judie Fralick says:

Of course, it would be Gina K glue. Thank You for a Chance to win.

  29. Carol McGregor says:

I currently use tombow liquid glue. But I have ordered Gina K Connect glue because of the clog problems with tombow. Hope you are feeling better and Happy New Year. Thanks for all you do for our craft.

  30. cyndi morris says:

Glad you’re feeling better. As I always do while I’m watching your “My Favorite” videos, I’ve been busy jotting down things I want to try. Two things you recommended are things I already use (both tried on previous recommendations from you) — Gina K Connect Glue and Stick It sheets. My favorite tape runner is Tombow Mono Dot adhesive. It’s inexpensive and it seems to have the same attributes as the ones you showed. However, I would like to try the Gina K tape runner, so it’s definitely on my wish list. Thanks for all the info.

  31. Debbi Saturno says:

By far the Gina K connect is my absolute favorite.
I am very excited to hear she has foam squares &
tape and can’t wait to try them.

  32. Linda Towill says:

Happy New Years to you and your family! My new favorite liquid glue (per your suggestion) is Gina K’s Connect.
Solved all my liquid glue woes. My favorite dry adhesive is the Scotch ATG.

  33. Sheri says:

Thanks, Jennifer! I look forward to this series every year and love trying new products from your list of Favorite Things!

  34. Dawne111 says:

My favorite adhesive is the Gina K Connect Glue. You can use it for everything!

  35. Michelle Rickard says:

Please don’t stress about us. We just want you well and happy. Life can really bring us down at times. Thankful you were able to let go of some of that stress! One of my favorite glues is Art Glitter glue. I use a ton (I do tons of projects), so I’m thankful for all the large sizes that it comes in.

  36. Samiksha Varma says:

Thank you for your favourites videos each year! Helps me tons making the right choices for the coming year. Love it! Wish you and your family a very happy new year and lots of craftyness!!

  37. Donna says:

Thanks for all your recommendations! I see several products I would like to try.

  38. Susan M says:

I like 3m liquid glue, foam tape, and my ATG.

  39. Marie Fix says:

I found a new one in the last six months. It is the glue from Nuvo. The bottle has the best tiny tip on it and the cap has a special little thing in it so the tip doesn’t clog. And you can press harder or lighter depending on the size of line you want. It makes me excited to have a wet glue that I really like!

  40. I hope you are doing better and have let the stress go away from you. I feel blessed to be a part of your crafty audience and treasure the time you spend providing us with inspiration, thank you. Please take the time you need to take care of yourself and your family, it’s so important to feel whole. God Bless you Jennifer.

  41. WENDY STRAM says:

I previously loved my Mono glue or Lawn Fawn, but have tried Gina K Connect & am loving it!

  42. Trudie says:

Everyone needs some me time. TAKE IT. Hope things are better for you now. Thank you for all you do. And we will always be here for you too. Hope you have a Happy New Year.

  43. jill nordstrom says:

I like Gina K liquid adhesive, but I also use my ATG a lot!!

  44. I love the be creative for those things you just want to make sure they don’t fall off, but I would like a new liquid glue to try so I will have to give Gina’s glue a try, thanks for sharing all you do and hope you are feeling much better and was able to enjoy a lovely Christmas!

  45. Natasha Trupp says:

I like Sookwang best, I find that many of the roller tapes just don’t have lasting power, but I am interested in trying a few that you have mentioned in your video 🙂

  46. Sharon O says:

I’m a huge fan of PPA – Perfect Paper Adhesive = for a liquid glue and Elizabeth Craft Designs double-sided tapes. I haven’t quite gotten the hang of using double-sided tapes behind words or small pieces [I don’t like all the strings I get when I peel off the backing] or even the Xyron machine, though I see many people use them both. Thanks for doing ‘Your Favorites’ videos and for all your recommendations. I’ve learned so much from you and hope that 2019 is a banner year for everyone!

  47. Laela Martin says:

Hi. Jennifer. I pray you are feeling better. It’s tough to be I’ll during the holidays. My prayers will contain requests for speedy recovery and good health for you and your family.
I have been using Tonic Studios liquid glue a lot lately. I also love Gena K Connect glue. I love them both for the same reasons you gave. They are just super products.
Love you and your videos. Your continued dedication to kindness is awesome. Thanks for all you’ve taught me!!

  48. dancingcat says:

My favorite dry adhesive is Kokuyo dot liner and my favorite wet adhesive is Nuvo.

  49. Mirjam Fidder says:

I have a view different favorite adhesives each for different reasons. I use the Tombow glue, Ranger multi medium glue and a dot adhesive runner and dubble sided tape.
I also have 3M foam tape, but I don’t like how heavy it makes my cards

  50. Mel H says:

Big Red tape fan here, but have some of the Gina glue on order now to give it a try.
