Love unusual artistic stencils for backgrounds. Your cloud example is reminiscent of torn paper edge I’ve demoed with pastels. I think I need the clouds stencil! Being a tactile person, I love to feel the embossed imprints on cards. YES, have a huge collection of embossing folders, too! Many dies can be made into stencils.

  23. Becky Green says:

THANK YOU, JENNIFER!!!! I ALWAYS want to see your “Favorites Lists” because it DOES help with Christmas, & just knowing what is out there. Sometimes, it is hard to get around to all of the vendors to see what they have to offer & you just fill that gap!!! AND you also let me know of companies I’ve not heard of before too! LOL THANK YOU, JENNIFER! 😉

  29. rdebell324 says:

I’m still fairly new to card making… I first started using embossing folders for scrapbooking so I have a small number to work with on cards. I fairly recently discovered the versatility of stencils and can’t wait to experiment with them more. I love the simple techniques of using the distress oxides for backgrounds, but I also can’t wait to use the stencils to put down transfer gel for foiling using a laminator!

  30. Linda says:

I use embossing folders often. Have not used stencils in a while but do like what you have done with yours

  37. Beth Myers says:

Love adding dimension with embossing folders and stencils. Still practicing on using the dye left of the stencils. I can play with color and design for hours. There’s never a bad result if I am willing to move the stencil and reink.

  41. grammasuzi says:

I’ve been using embossing folders for years, since I got my first cuttlebug, but I’m new to stencils. I actually made the first one I used. They aren’t expensive, so I think that would be way easier than making them!! :o)

  42. Martha R says:

I have several embossing folders which I use some… but I have not used stencils… they always look cool.
I need to try them. Thank you so much for your videos describing the products you like. Last year I ordered the some of the stamps pads that you suggested. You do awesome videos.👏👏

  44. Judith B. says:

I’ve used dies to emboss, as I’ve learned from your videos. I haven’t used stencils yet, I always worry that I’ll mess it up somehow. Maybe it’s time to try it out, I might just surprise myself!
