  1. I almost always have a die cut element on my cards, so probably the Big Shot, followed closely by the MISTI! The tools video is the one I look most forward to every year, so thanks for all of your time, effort, and research for us. I’m currently debating between the Gemini and waiting it out for the newly improved electronic Big Shot. Love that the Gemini will cut intricate dies with one pass, but the idea of not having two different sets of cutting pads and shims greatly appeals to me, too. Thanks again for all that you do to inspire all of us in the crafty world, with your card making techniques and your Kindness mission! You are truly one of a kind, and you make the world a better place!

  2. Thanks for the comprehensive video Jennifer, so many great crafty tools in here. I really couldn’t live without my MISTI, I don’t know how I managed before as I am so bad at stamping sentiments with an acrylic block. Did two today with an aceylic block and they went straight in the bin! An then the die cutting machine you really just can’t live without.. so as usual more than one option from me 😂 Thanks again for all the crafty favourite things videos, always enjoy them. Lisa x

  3. I love my ‘old’ Tonic guillotine paper trimmer but for smaller cuts, my Tim Holtz trimmer is right up there too.
My other favorite tool is my Club Scrap 8″ clear ruler. It is a must for card makers!!

  4. Thanks for more fantastic information, Jennifer! 🙂
I’m a tool junkie, so I particularly look forward to this video every year.

It’s really difficult to pick just one tool I could not craft without, but since I love 3D projects it’s a toss-up between my Stampin Up Simply Scored scoring board, and my “big mama” Fiskars ProCision rotary bypass trimmer which featured here a few years ago. I have two other scoring boards but the Stampin Up one is definitely the best for me, and I have FIVE(!) other paper trimmers and still use the ProCision more often than all the rest combined.

  5. I would say there are 2 tools I consider invaluable: my MISTI & my Big Sister die cutting machine from Cheery Lynn Designs. The MISTI especially has saved my bacon multiple times since I finally “gave in” & got it! As you said, I waste so much less time & paper with it! And the Big Sister can handle up to 8.5×11″, has a thick cutting plate available (which lasts longer, I understand), and is very durable. Beefy machine, but with a smaller footprint, which is important in my–ahem–crowded craft room! LOL Thank you SO much for this video, Jennifer! The salt keeper is definitely on my wish list for my Absorber chamois. Thanks for the great giveaway, too! 🙂 ~ Andrea

  6. Thank you! Thank you! I love your My Favorite Crafty Videos! I watch and write down, it is helpful so i remember what I want to purchase thru out the year.

  7. Definitely my Fiskars paper trimmer! I also really like my Wagner heat gun for embossing (that I bought based on your recommendation). It even came in handy to fix a damaged place in the vinyl kitchen floor when we moved our refrigerator 🙂

  8. I can’t live without my paper trimmer (Fiskars 6″ wide, 12″ long) and my mini scoring board. But that jewel picker, the triangular bead tray, and bone folder look awfully tempting too!

  9. Thank you so much for making these videos! You inspire me to try new things and I love all your tips and tricks! Now….off to make my Christmas wish list 😉

  10. You always give great info. I’ve followed your favorites for a few years and find it super helpful to figure out where to spend my limited funds. Thanks!

  11. I use the Evolution die cutter which has been great for me. Can’t imagine crafting without it or my MISTI! Thanks for the great video. Several items are in my cart at Simon Says!

  12. My new favorite is the jewel picker. It makes makes it so easy to move small pieces and embellishments! Thank you for your fabulous videos!

  13. Hi Jennifer and thanks for your instructive videos! For me, I love to create with my Mini Misti. Since I have it, stamping is more easily.

  14. I be 3 tools that I can’t create without: the Big Shot, my tweezers, and my adhesive eraser. I use the adhesive eraser for final clean-up removing all tiny glue bits on the back and front of the card. Thanks, Jennifer, for another informative video! Hugs!

  15. The one thing I couldn’t live without is my Tim Holtz stamping platform. It has been a Godsend for my Christmas card production line. I couldn’t imagine mass producing all my cards without it.

  16. Love your videos and your favorite things. I couldn’t craft without my Vagabond die cutting machine. I use die cuts on almost every card. I also couldn’t live without my Misti for stamping.

  17. Wow just 1 tool, I have several. My misti’s for sure I have a problem of not being able to stamp straight and sometimes not enough pressure too.. I love my big shot die cutting as well. I could go on and on but not enough time. Thanks for the video I always learn something new or see a new tool I need.

  18. My die cutting machine. I got a Big Shot machine a couple of years back and that really kick started my crafting journey. I don’t know how else to use all those beautiful dies without a diecutting machine.

  19. I think this is my favourite video yet! My wish list is getting longer…. I think my favourite tool right now is the MISTI. I hesitated to buy it, as I don’t stamp that often, but it really makes stamping so much easier. I used to get frustrated when I would stamp on a card and the impression was not crisp of even. The MISTI takes care of that issue!

  20. The MISTI has changed the way I craft. It makes it so much easier to do layered stamping and mass produce cards. I love it. Thanks Jennifer for being such an inspiration and taking the time to post so many wonderful videos.

  21. My Fiskars paper trimmer is what I used the most. I have the reinforced paper trimmer and I love it, I don’t have to worry about my blade shifting and messing up my cutting. Thanks for Sharing, yet more things I want to buy some day lol

  22. I would say my Big Shot die cutting machine is definitely the most important thing in my craft room. Heat gun would be a close second!

  23. I could not live without my Fiskars reinforced trimmer! I saw it on your my favorite things video last year, and it has solved all my issues with not being able to cut straight. Thank you Jennifer!

  24. Wow! That’s a tough question but I’m going to say my MISTI because it’s given me more confidence when I’m stamping and I have less waste because I can fixing stamping mistakes easily. But the thing I like best about it is that it allowed my mom to make her own Christmas cards this year. She’s done crafting of all types throughout her life and passed her love of crafting down to all of us. In recent years, however, crafting has become difficult because at 89 her hands are shaky. I took the MISTI home with me and showed her how to use it. It resolved the problem of stamping with shaky hands beautifully. She had such a good time being able to craft again that it was priceless.
Thanks for all the great information in this video. I plan to watch it again just to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

  25. I really like my Big Shot, though I think I would like the electric one, or the biggest one so I could cut larger quilt blocks out as well.

  26. Thank you for a list of your 2017 favorite. It’s fun to watch and think “I could use that”
I have requested a hand vacuum for Christmas and tape. This year I kept a record of how many cards that were made and sent out. I made 180. Thanks for the opportunity and I spiraling.

  27. Can’t seem to live without my heat gun. Since I got the one you have recommended, I love adding some heat embossing to every card these days; love it:)

  28. I absolutely love my BigKick and Tonic TH Stamping Platform. I will never let them go, and I’ve only had them for four months!!!

  29. So glad to see the MISTI … I just wish that heavy duty rotary cutter had a light. I’ve had my Genesis for years, but can no longer get replacement blades, so I know I need a new one, but I use that light so darn much.

  30. Okay, Hi, Jennifer! I am new to your site, have never ‘blogged,’ and am not too computer-savvy, but I have become hooked on your tutorials and have just fallen in love with everything you do! I recently bought a Sizzix Big Shot and have started die-cutting to make cards for everyone in our Sunday School class, and I am having a ball! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise and your artistic abilities with all of us newbies. You are an inspiration! I look forward to getting your emails each day!
Blessings to you and your family,
    Pat Y.

  31. Many, and hard to pick one, but Jewel Picker def. made my life easier, for that price 🙂 Also, thanks to MISTI that I don’t get nervous stamping, anymore, wondering whether I can get a good impression from the stamping or not 🙂
