Stamped Edge Gatefold Card + #beastmode Blog Hop
Hi there. Today I am sharing a technique for creating a stamped edge, gatefold-like card. I am also participating in a very important blog hop honoring a wonderful person.

I enjoy making cards with unique openings or designs. I feel like it makes the card stand out from store-bought cards. Today’s stamped-edge, gatefold-like card design is great for almost any stamps!
(**NOTE: I said the wrong measurement in the video. Cut the cardstock to 4.25″x7.5″ – not 5.5″x7.5″. SORRY!)
For all of my cards, I stamped gorgeous flowers from the Reverse Confetti Blooms N Buds Stamp Set with the fabulous Reverse Confetti Inks. (More on these inks below.) I added white details with a Sharpie White Extra Fine Paint Marker. I having been playing with this pen a lot lately and I really like it so far! Seems more predictable than a gel pen. My white detailing was inspired by the amazing Kathy Racoosin.
The “I said a prayer for you today” sentiment is from the Reverse Confetti My Heart Trusts Stamp Set and the “with heartfelt sympathy” is from the Reverse Confetti Lots To Say Stamp Set.
I cut along the bottom edge of the floral border and created a “gatefold” card design. You can even add a sentiment to the inside! The “you are beautiful inside and out” sentiment is from the Reverse Confetti You’re So Stamp Set. This is a great set for building a variety of messages.
I also added Tonic Nuvo Jewel Drops (Sea Breeze on the blue and Rose Water on the pink cards) for a bit of dimension. This product is clear with a tint of color. (The “you are totally awesome” sentiment is from the Reverse Confetti A Friend Like You Stamp Set.)
INK SWATCH DOWNLOAD
In the video I share a look at the Reverse Confetti inks. These inks dry smooth and come in amazing colors! I find they behave a lot like the Hero Arts Shadow Inks. Love! The Reverse Confetti colors are gorgeous and unique. Flamingo is my favorite. They are available in full size pads and mini cubes.

#BEASTMODE BLOG HOP
This post is also part of a very important – the #BEASTMODE Blog Hop.

A few months ago, my friend and the owner of Reverse Confetti, Jen Del Muro, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She’s been dealt a pretty bad hand as far as the treatment for her type of aggressive cancer, but the prognosis is good. This year will be quite the journey and battle, but she is a strong and very motivated woman. She’s done lots of reading up on how she can take on a positive role in fighting her cancer from all angles, including diet and exercise. With only a couple of treatments under her belt so far, she is looking and feeling good, and plans to keep it that way! Her mantra has become a viral hashtag among her friends and crafty peers – #beastmode – and it totally fits Jen’s personality. I admire the grace at which she is taking on this battle. She is amazing! (And Reverse Confetti will continue to release great new products!)
When I found out about Jen’s battle, I reached out to the gals on the Reverse Confetti Design Team and asked them if they would like to do a #BEASTMODE Blog Hop. They said yes and thankfully allowed me to join them! I encourage you to stop at all the hops on the blog – the Reverse Confetti Design team is a great one.
Also, please stop by Jen’s blog and leave her an encouraging message.
I am the last stop on the hop. Please head to the blog of Susan Liles to begin the fun!
And ladies… please please PLEASE be sure to often do self breast exams. You can find tips HERE. It is so very important.
