  1. My favorite black ink is Versafine black. I can watercolor over it and also emboss it with clear embossing powder for a raised effect.

  2. I honestly just love my ink from Papertrey Ink. Their colors are so vibrant and they are just perfect for stamping.

  3. My favorite ink is Momento except for the black. The colors leave a very smooth non splotchy finish but the black seems more grey. I usually end up at least 3 times with my MISTI to get a dark enough impression. I’m glad you included your favorite black ink options as I added them to my wish list!

  4. Thank you for all these suggestions! I’m not a technique-driven stamper, but I have to say my Versamark ink pad has become my favorite ink – great for subtle backgrounds on dark cardstock, and fun for embossing when I feel like getting extra-crafty.

  5. I almost always stamp with Archival Black Ink so I guess that’s my favourite one but I like my Stampin’ Up Inks and so many others as well. I have quite a few different company’s inks so hard to say another favourite.

  6. I’ve purchased a lot of SSS inks and I’ve learned I need to be patient to see the results I want. Thanks for the other recommendations and mixing and matching other ink. I tend to get locked into one brand or another.

  7. Versamark has to be my favorite. It is very properly named as being so versatile! My local craft store was alway out of stock, so it was the first ink I bought online.

  8. I have only tried Stampin’ Up inks, which are great. However, I’m expanding my selection after watching your videos and recently ordered several SSS ink pads. Can’t wait to try them!

  9. My favorite ink is the Versamark ink. I love using embossing powders so I use this all the time and I like how cool it looks with just the ink as a watermark.

  10. Thanks so much for this video! I hardly ever tried dye inks until recently and I can’t believe it took me so long. I am quite the messy stamper, so dye inks are essential for me haha. My top most favorite inks are most definitely the Distress Inks!

  11. I love My Favorite Things hybrid ink,but I’ve just recently bought a Delicata White Shimmer pad, which is very cool too.

  12. I’ve not tried many inks. I have the Ranger Dye Inks and the Distress ink Pads. My favorite of the two is the Distress ink. I’d like to get more colors, but I’m building my collection slowly.

  13. I use a lot of Stampin Up inks and Distress Ink. I do have to say the VersaMark pad is the most versatile ink pad and an important one to own for a lot of purposes.

  14. I love my Distress Inks! VersaFine is my current favourite for stamping sentiments. Thanks for the reminder to keep trying inks and see what works for me – I needed that reminder to keep trying! 🙂

  15. I tend to go to my versafine black ink all the time but totally in love with my distress inks and the memento as well. I do love ink and I have been asking myself if it would make sense to try others. You are great thank you for always being a great source of inspiration, humbleness and information. 🙂

  16. At your previous recommendation I switched to the HA Black dye ink pad a couple of years ago and haven’t looked back. It’s the *perfect* dark black, always stamps crisply, and never has any of that canvas-y print transfer from the pad to a more solid stamp. My friends are constantly stealing/borrowing it when we get together instead of using their own black pads. I started out collecting CTMH stamp pads, then moved on to SU! pads, and am phasing out of them as they dry up. I have started getting some SSS pads to fill in color gaps, so it’s quite helpful to know that HA Shadow & WP9 inks are the same formulation. I also have most of the Distress Ink cube sets and am working on rounding out that collection due to all of the amazing techniques that you video. Thanks for all this info…it’s a lot to digest, but very helpful as I continue filling out my collection.

  17. Another great video.. I use momento a lot because of the copics use. I do have hero art black and some Simon says inks. Another is Stampin up I use them but usually just for sentiments or shading.

  18. My favorite has to be one of my first ink pads-the most versatile of them all and is a “must have” in everyone’s ink stash….Versamark!!!!.

  19. Versamark with embossing powders. I haven’t tried colorful dye ink yet but plan to put it on my Christmas wish list! My fingers got very messy with the versafine black, too!

  20. I recently started using VersaFine Onyx Black Pigment Ink for my sentiments and I like the crisp black ink it provides. Great recommendation … thank you.

  21. Thanks again so much for all the information. For stamping I love Hero Arts ink. For techniques Distress Inks are the one. Let’s just say I have a few (or more) of others too.

  22. Alrightie… I love the Ink swatch. It makes such a difference when you are trying to match up a color to either cardstock to other color inks. I love that you did all the hard work of marking what each color was and from what company. Most of my inks are Stampin Up. I do have Versafine that I love. It gives such crisp lines and it doesnt smudge. VersaMark for my embossing. But I am dying to try the Gina K or Altenew inks. You seem to recommend Gina K so I would have to go in that direction because you have never steered me wrong with your favorite things.

  23. Do you by any chance have a preference between Gina K and Altenew? I’m liking the fact that Altenew has shades that match and you can buy them in the cubes but not sure about the cubes? Hmm I went back and checked your list and you did have both of them on there. Oy I cannot imagine going through all of this without your guidance.

  24. Vera’s ark is definitely a go to ink. I am experimenting with different dye inks. I have a lot of Stamping Up inks and Papertrey inks but I am adding other colors from other brands as each company has different shades.

  25. I can’t just fick one ink, it all depends on what I want to do. But… the black one from Hero Arts is used one almost all my cards 🙂

  26. Distress inks hands down. I have almost ever colour and I can honestly say that I use them all the time. Best purchase(s) I have ever made!

  27. I like various inks for different reasons: Archival black for crisp sentiments and watercolouring, Versamark for heat embossing, DIs for blending and techniques. I have tried various dye inks, but my favourites are the memento dew drops and the Altenew colour series. I mostly buy the cubes for economical reasons (fianancial and space). I’ve heard good things about the MFT hybrid inks and would love to try them.
