Again – please know that you do NOT need a lot of inks! I share many here so maybe you can determine which is best for you. You really only need a handful in the colors you like.

Remember – this list of Favorite Crafty Things may also be used as a gift guide. Feel free to give this link to a loved one… maybe they will take the hint. 😉

You can keep up to date on all the topics HERE… and for my lists from 2014, click HERE.

My absolute favourite inks are Distress Inks. They are also my watercolours! I love the effects you can achieve using just ink and water. Thanks for all your inspiration.

  4. Renae C. says:

I mostly use the Papertrey dye inks because I have a log of their stamps and paper. I also really like to use the Ranger distress inks when sponging or coloring around a mask.

  5. tracy says:

Pick one!! I like them all!! I guess the distress inks would my favorite, at least the most used!

  6. Audrey R says:

My favorite ink is the versatile black ink, I love how crisp the image is with it. I am excited about this giveaway because I have wanted to try the altenew inks, I love the idea of the shades of a color, great for stamp layering. Thanks for another great video, I love your favorite things.

  7. Shirano says:

My favorite is probably the versamark one (since it’s the base to so many nice things)!

  8. Jan O says:

Picking the right ink depends on the project. Although I do Use Versafine ink on almost every card.

  9. Beverley says:

Thanks for your really informative video on the various inks, Jennifer. Well done! And, since you recommended the Altenew inks so highly, I’d absolutely love to have some of them 🙂 As to my favorites, I really like Distress Inks and Reinkers for effects. I like Memento Tuxedo Black for use with Copics and also use Memento Dye Inks in lots of other colors. Thanks again for the video!

Versafine gives such a nice look to sentiments, Still don’t have a favorite colored ink-need to experiment more.

I love my Hero Arts Shadow Inks when I’m stamping in colors, otherwise it’s my Versafine Black Onyx…followed by Simon Says inks — all per your favs!! Thanks for always offering great tips and information about your favorites – it certainly helps when trying to decide what it is I want.

  15. Laura Joyce says:

I love the distress inks for blending backgrounds and I’ve just started using them in watercoloring. But I also love the Kalidascope inks. I first saw them at a make-and-take where the artist showed us how to ink up a brayer, then apply the ink to a glossy white cardstock to create amazing backgrounds.

  16. Debi W says:

This is so hard. I like different inks for different reasons.
Sort of maybe I can say Hero Inks, it always fascinates me how they are splotchy at first and then blend together so beautifully.

    Sincerely
    LesLee

  20. Keysha Sain says:

My favorite ink is the Papertrey Ink Premium Dye Inks….. I havent used many different inks yet though. I am not interested in trying the Ranger Dye Inks as well as the MFT dye inks.

  21. Kathy H says:

My favorite ink is Versafine Black Onxy which I use the most. I also like the Hero Arts black that you use. I have most of the Hero Arts Mid-tones and most of the Ranger Distress Inks which I like. I do wish Hero Arts offered the reinkers. I feel like I am still on the search for the perfect ink.

  22. Jamie Payne says:

I loved the video, thanks so much! Everything I know about ink I have learned from you. I am still kinda new to stamping…. I have been collecting the lawn fawn ink pads and plan to get the ranger ones next, Which was your advice for newbies on another video. So since lawn fawns all I got now (besides distress ink) there my favorite!

I always reach for versafine for sentiments- looks crisp and covers well

The ones I pull out most are my Versafine Pigment ink. I actually do use my Copic markers with them with no problem. I also like Memento Dye Ink, but the image isn’t quite as crisp. I also use my Copics with it.
I’ll be getting the Hybrid ink pad on order today!

  31. Diane Hanson says:

I agree completely with your comment, “it depends on the project” as to which type of ink I use. I gravitate more to the dye inks and Distress inks, however, and as far as color, I tend to have and use more blue/turquoise tones.

  32. Sonya says:

This was very helpful. I really need a stash of good inks. I don’t really have a favorite cause I own so few and don’t have good quality cardstock either! I do love to use pigment ink to emboss though. 🙂
