Worth Checking Out + GIVEAWAY

Hello! Just stopping by to share some awesome things my friends have created. I highly encourage you to check them out – they each have videos, are incredible, and support the Share Handmade Kindness Challenge. Oh – and I have an awesome giveaway!

(1.) Julie Ebersole – When I started this challenge, I only asked a few people if they wanted to participate. (I just prayed others would jump in!) However, I asked Julie to play since her energy and heart fit perfect with the challenge. I adore what Julie shares in this quick video. She uses the new Hero Arts Acts of Kindness Stamp Set and makes it shine. (She also talks about a kindness package I sent her… I will show that here on my blog soon.) Please head HERE to see her great work and video… and please leave her a kind comment!

(2.) Carissa Wiley – I also asked Carissa to play along with this week’s challenge to share with folks who work/serve/help in our community. Carissa is a nurse (so awesome) and a great cardmaker, so I knew she would be a perfect fit. Her cards are delightful and the tips in her video are inspiring. You can head HERE to see her cards and video and leave her some love. Also, be sure to go HERE to see a great kindness giveaway!

(3.) Kelly Latevola – I smiled ear to ear when I saw this happy card by my happy friend Kelly. It is another great example of how to use the Hero Arts Acts of Kindness Stamp Set. So very happy. Be sure to HERE to see Kelly’s post and leave some kind words. Also, look around her blog – she does a great job showcasing fellow artists. Genius.

(4.) PoppyandMintDesign Print – When I decided to do this Share Handmade Kindness Challenge, I hired a bunch of amazing lettering artists to create kindness quotes. One of the artists I picked was Molly of Poppy and Mint Design. She created this masterpiece of a favorite Mother Teresa quote. She is now selling the image as a download with 50% of the money going to the Kind Campaign. Woot! I printed the quote on a card and foiled it with my Minc machine for the example above. I plan to make a set of these to give as teacher gifts this year.

I have a great giveaway today – a $50 gift certificate to Ellen Hutson! Ellen one of the kindest people I know and has been very supportive of the Share Handmade Kindness Challenge. Thank you, Ellen!

  1. All year I look forward to the Christmas releases is my favorite time and try to think of wonderful Christmas card ideas that will bring a smile and remind us of what the Season is all about. Every year I try to make extras and hand them out to people I encounter. Sometimes I get strange looks but most times is a smile. A little brightness to someone day.

  2. I will be sending over 100 Christmas cards this year. I am also putting together small baskets with different treats. I love making treat boxes/holders. This year I doing a Nordic theme in kraft, white, and red using lots of great stamps and dies.

  3. I am sending handmade Christmas cards this year and I even have my mom making her own cards. You truly inspire me. It was one of your posts that was the inspiration for my Christmas card. Thank you for all you do.

  4. Yes! Although we have transitioned from cards to an email version. My husband works in video and so he now makes some kinds of an animated short video with a holiday greeting. Last year her animated us all making snow angels. Really fun and still has a personal touch!

  5. For 10yrs or so I’ve made them. However, I haven’t started them this year and I have to admit I’m getting dismayed at how many people take them, glance at them, and then toss them. This year we’re sending the oh-so-common photo card (we had our first family photos taken on Sat- our son is 8. Oops.) and sending handmade ones only to the families we know that will actually appreciate them and would be disappointed not to receive one.

  6. Hi Jennifer,
I am making holiday cards for friends and family this year! I am almost finished and I am hoping to have time to spend playing with some new ideas and techniques I have recently learned (some from your blog) using some new items I have recently purchased. That doesn’t happen very often – working full time and caring for my elderly mom who lives with us. Thanks again for all your great ideas!!

  7. Yes, I have about about 130 cards made at this point. I need to start addressing them to be sure I don’t need to make more. 🙂

  8. Hi Jennifer,
I have always made Christmas Cards for friends and family – this year will be no exception.
I am starting them in the next day or so as I like to mail them December 1st.
I don’t get many back anymore but think it is so important to let people know I love them and wish them
the best for Christmas and the New Year.
I received the stamps yesterday for the kindness challenge and am planning on sending a few of them to the
special people in my life. I have so enjoyed all you have taught me and can hardly wait to get started!!

  11. Great cards, always so lovely. Yes, I make handmade Christmas cards every year. I’m almost done with this years cards. 16. Every year I intend to send out Christmas cards and somehow it always keeps moving down on the “to do” list. So some years I do and some years I don’t. I hand make a few, but not all. This year I don’t think I will have time as my husband has just started cancer treatment.

  17. I have plans to make Christmas cards this year. Have done it for the past 2 years but this time I have a die to go with my stamp and am looking forward to creating something I can put my name to.

  22. Hi Candyce, just wanted to say I’m very sorry for your loss. So far I’ve made 10 X-mas cards for the campaign, Jennifer told us about, in which they’re going to give them to folks in nursing homes. Better to give than to receive.
