Worth Checking Out

Hello! OK. I am going to be straight here. I am struggling right now to balance everything. The kiddos are home… Lila has a fever… Colin made the select baseball team… Audrey is looking at colleges… Kay is coming home for a visit. And honestly – these are my first priority and love. (All are good things, minus the fever!) However, I have several videos shot and I will post them as soon as I get a chance to edit. I hope you understand and know that I will be sharing as soon as I can. 🙂 xo

In the meantime, I have discovered some great things over on Instagram that I wanted to share here. I don’t visit crafty blogs but do follow a lot of crafty folks on Instagram. Here are some things that caught my eye:

(1.) Color Layering Swatches – Ruby had a brilliant idea that I just had to share! She used my ink swatch book idea to keep track of ink colors that work well for color layering. So helpful!

(2.) Heart In the Hustle Cards – If you are a fellow Believer, you may find these interesting. I plan to buy a set and include one inside handmade cards that I send out.

(3.) 25% Off Ranger Products – Get 25% off all Ranger products through 8/4/15. Use code RASALE when shopping HERE. Now is a great time to get Distress Inks, Craft Sheets and Ink Blending Tools.

(4.) No-Line Coloring – Wow. Wow. WOW. Those are the words that come to mind when I see Alice Wertz do no-line coloring. She is the master. I have not (nor plan to) tried this technique as I think I would struggle with it. But she rocks it. Wow. She has many examples on her blog.

(5.) Mayholic In Crafts YouTube – I have been a fan of May’s for some time now, and I am so excited that she started doing videos. Yay!

(6.) Ellen Hutson Sneak PeekJulie Ebersole has some great new products coming out soon. Stay tuned! I love the peek she shared here.

(7.) 15% Off My Favorite Things – Get 15% off My Favorite Things products using code “MFTSALE” while shopping HERE before 8/4/15.

(8.) Background Check Class – Our current Online Card Class is going on and we are having a lot of fun! This is a peek at one of my class projects. We are sharing a ton of background ideas. (It is never too late to join and you can take the class whenever you want.)

(9.) Hero Arts Blog – I have really been enjoying the Hero Arts blog lately. This card by Kelly is divine.

See you soon with a video. Promise. 🙂

  9. I am sure that everyone understands when life – especially the life of a mum – takes over, Jennifer. I have often wondered how on earth you manage to do all that you do, and right now family comes first. I love following your blog, and look forward to catching it again when you are ready, but don’t put yourself under more pressure than you need. Thanks for passing on the inspiration of others. I think we would all need 48 hours in a day to keep up with all that crafting goodness!

Sending lots of (((hugs))) and prayers your way!

  17. Thanks for all the great info! That’s one (of many) of the reasons your blog is first on my list each evening. I often wonder how you manage to do as much as you do. I realize this is your job and your work at it like everyone else, but I do remember years ago when I worked at the hospital – coming home and dealing with all the “stuff” was so stressful. Luckily my husband was a huge help (as I’m sure yours is as well) and I was able to take plenty of vacations. Again, thank you Jennifer, I’ll be taking advantage of most of the items you showed us!

  18. Jennifer,

Your family comes first, always! Don’t worry about us, we will be fine. You have provided so much info on your blog and YouTube to keep us busy and informed for quite a while. Enjoy your family and give them what they need, your attention and love.

  24. Love these! Hope you have a great time with your kids and that Lila’s fever goes away soon. I was just oohing and awing over Alice’s blog before I opened your email–She is the master at no line coloring and I love it! Those ink swatches with the layered flowers are super awesome too! With the amount of inks I have I’m sad that I don’t actually own any of the ones she used, but I still love the idea! 🙂

  25. Jennifer,

God has blessed you in so many ways, and your gifting in this arena is amazing and so appreciated. I look forward to your videos every day. But your family comes first. They grow up fast, the time is very short and they need you. They are your legacy. Love them and enjoy them and come back to us when you can. We’ll be here!!!! 🙂

  26. Thanks for these tidbits, especially #1. Have you ever considered doing a YouTube live chat? Your good friend Kristina Werner seems to do them every now and then. Looks fun! Take care and thanks for your work.

  27. So sorry for Lila’s fever. Have to smile at your challenges of balancing life and structuring priorities. I so remember those days. Sounds like you are doing a great job. Thanks for all the interesting info. Videos on hold is fine with me as I try and keep up (not) right now with the fabulous Background Check class!
    Blessings to you.

  28. As much as we all miss your pretty face…oh and your video’s too…family comes before everything else. It sounds like you have a full, exciting bunch of kids going in lots of directions. Enjoy them all for they grow up and are gone way too soon. Hope Lila feels better soon.

  30. Be with your family . . . any single one of your videos gives us enough grist for the mill to keep us busy for weeks on end. So fret not: we shall practice patience, happily immerse ourselves in your prodigious archives of superb ideas, and be more than content to wait for your return. I’m not really sure, but I think that “Thou mustn’t be greedy” is written down somewhere . . . we ought to read and heed, yes?

  31. Relax, Jennifer, and take some time for yourself too. You’ve shared so many wonderful ideas and techniques that there’s a huge pool of resources for us to draw on. It’s fun to go back and revisit old favourites, or see what we might have missed in the past too!

  32. Family should always come first!!! Enjoy them as much as you can. I will be here waiting for your posts. Thank you so much for all of your inspiration and sharing of your knowledge.

  33. As much as we can’t wait to see what you have new for us….we as mothers understand. You do what you need to do for your family and the rest comes after that. Trusting the one who is not feeling well get’s better soon. Enjoy the family because you only have them young for a short time. Well be here when you get back.
Blessings to you and your family 🙂

  34. Personally I love how honest you are. I think you are so creative and you inspire me everyday. It’s all about balance, but family always should come first and the fact that you don’t post a video because you have so much going on at home…..well it just makes you even more admirable in my books.
