Happy New Year! We need a giveaway…

Happy New Year, my fellow stampers!  I hope you all have a blessed year.

A few things I wanted to tell ya about.

If you are in the Cincinnati area, you gotta go to Stamp Your Art Out on Saturday between 10-5.  Connie is having a Hero Arts handmade card sale.  When Hero moved, they found TONS of handmade samples that were no longer needed.  Sweet Carol (from Stampers Corner in CA) boxed them up and sent them to me.  MANY went to the Cards for Heroes.  But there were so many that we have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds to sell.  Stamp Your Art Out will have them on sale for 50 cents each.  ALL the money will go to cover the costs of shipping cards to heroes and others who need them.  So it all goes to a good cause!  (And, I am launching and new card drive soon…)  So be sure to stop by.  There are some amazing ones.  I also added tons of my own to the stash to sell.

Also, Connie from Stamp Your Art Out is collecting Peeps to send to heroes overseas.  Fun, huh?  Be sure to drop them off to her soon.  Thanks, Connie, for always doing so much good.  You have one of the most generous hearts I know.

Oh, and Connie has LOTS of the new Hero Arts.  🙂

Next, how about a quick share. This was a baby gift I put together for the gal down the street.  It is the most impractical gift ever.  Ha!  But Colin saw these baby girl shoes at Target and thought Avaley would like them.  I couldn't argue!  So I made a box for them, along with a note that said "a girl can never have too many shoes."  I tied it with some soft ribbon and added a K&Co die cut butterfly with Hero Arts gems.  I put the same on an embossed card and it was ready to go!

Have a great night.  See you tomorrow!

  2. Joanne says:

My sweet husband and I stayed in and planned our 09 goals. Every year we sit down as a couple and individuals and plan goals for the year. Always a fun exercise and it’s amazing how much we accomplish once we write it down on paper! Love the rub-ons!

  3. Melissa (MilliD) says:

We have two teenage boys and we all just cozied up, played board games, and spent the evening together. It was great!!

  4. Amy Wilson says:

I stayed at home with my husband and son. We let him sleep with us (a special treat) because, sure enough, the neighbors and dogs went nuts at 12 midnight!

  5. Roz Rhorer says:

New Years Eve started with some painting in my soon to be Scrap Room ! ! ! YEA. Then we went to friends for some yummy food. Nothing really exciting, but it was nice being with friends that you consider family.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR ! ! !

  6. Heidi Stork says:

We spent it playing games with family and friends. The kids watched Veggie Tales, and we all ate WAY too much. (Okay maybe I just ate way too much!)

    Thanks for the giveaway!

We had a few friends over for games, food and lots of fun. We made it well past midnight – although my college kids (home for the holiday) made it well past mom and dad. Thank you for the opportunity to win some great rub ons – I love the way they look on my projects – so clean.

  8. Lisa in WA says:

We had friends over, ate a lot of yummies, and played games. Safe & sound at home, with people we enjoy and our family.

  9. Wendy Swenne says:

I went in the morning for some shopping. In the afternoon I went to my neighbours to celeberate her birthday. Then at 18:00 I went home to make some dinner. And then I just layed on the couch watching tv and waited for midnight. Then I called my parents, wished them a happy newyear, then watched some fireworks from behind my window. And then got to bed and read a book.

My husband and I spent the evening with some friends. Sorry to say it but we were home and in bed by 1130! Nana and Pops had the baby so we almost got a full nights rest!
Love the “shoe” idea… Going to have to borrow that:)

    Happy New Year!
First, those little shoes are adorable. I actually have the pink/brown polka dots one. They have (babysrus)a Carter set that goes perfectly with them.

Hubby, my little boy and I stayed home. I’m about to give birth so I am not so comfortable to be partying BUT we did have a great time. We danced (a little in my case), did tons of fireworks, hugged and kissed eachother, ate 12 grapes & made wishes and thank Jesus for all the blessings.

I’m learning to knit so I spent New Years cuddled in a blanket knitting a hat for my nephew (shhhhh, it’s a surprise!) Knit two, pearl two….

I spent New Years Eve trying to wake my kids up!!!! They stayed up with me to watch the ball drop and at 11:45…they were out!!! My husband and the kids had been dirtbiking for two days prior and they were ALL worn out. I literally yelled their names two feet from their head and NO response. ( The thought scares me if we should ever have a fire and they don’t hear the alarm????? ) Oh well…I spent midnight alone and refelected on the past year. It was a nice quiet time but next year…we are gonna have caffeine on hand!!!
    Happy New Year!!!!!!!

  19. Meaghan V says:

I spent it doing what i’ve done the past few years….scrapping with buddies on a MB online crop that ran for 3 days! My kids didn’t sleep much this year so scrapping was limited but it was still fun to chat with my friends and play games. When the clock hit 12 DH and I rang it in with a glass of yummy Ice Wine and an even yummier kiss!

  20. Megan P says:

I hung out with my best friend, we went to her neighbours house for dinner and then went to her uncles house after, and wa there when it turned 2009!

  21. Diana Borghuis says:

For the first time in 6 or 7 years we spent new years eve with my parents. Normaly we kept the evening just for the two of us. All snuggled up on the couch watching tv. On new years day my mother has her birthday and we would go over, but this year she really insisted that we came to start celebrating her birthday with all her children early. And it was a great excuse to have my children sleep over. We had a great time. It is fun to see that she loves her grandchildren so much.

  22. Jennifer says:

What a cute gift set! My daughter spent the night at my mom’s with her cousins, and my husband and I stayed home. Nothing exciting!

  23. I didn’t do much, but I made sure that I got my New Year’s kiss (even if it was over the phone) and drank a glass of champagne!

  24. mary d says:

I luv those K&Co Butterflies and the gems are the perfect touch.
My husband and I used the gift card our kids gave us for Christmas to go out and eat at a resteraunt. It was freezing and very windy out. We ate great food, grilled chicken with mushrooms and a sauce which tasted like a great steak. I luved it. After we ate we hurried home to get warm and cozy and enjoyed each others company. My husband ended up with a belly ache and went to bed and I stayed up watching Elf twice. VERY funny movie.

  25. Heather Moll says:

That is the cutest little gift! I love how you added that amazing butterfly to the ribbon – so CUTE!

We laid low this New Years Eve. My DH and DD had been sick with a wicked stomach virus over Christmas and were just getting over it so we opted to stay home and watch a movie. Good thing we did too because later that night I got hit with it too. BLECH!

I hope you are doing well. Happy New Year!

  26. Amy L. Weber says:

I love the baby shoes gift idea! We are having our first (a girl) in March, and that looks like such a fun gift to receive.

We spent NYE with friends and all of their kids…the kids ran around in their PJ’s and the adults drowsily looked after them.

  27. Jill says:

One of our daughters is still in town, and since she lives so far away we don’t get to see her or the grandbabies that often so we went to clifton mills to see the light shows that they have every year and then back to the house we came and spent a wonderful evening just playing games, laughing and of course watching the ball drop with dick clark

  28. Since we have 5 children (and 2 are autistic 3 yr old twins) we don’t go anywhere on NYE. We stay home, play with the twins til they tire out, make lots of junk food snacks, and once twins are asleep, we play a card game like Uno or Phase 10. This year my husband and I actually made it past 1am before retiring to bed. (last couple years I’ve fallen asleep b4 midnite! =)

  29. CathyR says:

    Happy New Year!

On New Year’s Eve we stayed home and ate our favorite appetizers and toasted the New Year with sparkling wine. At midnight we watched the fireworks from our 7th floor window. It was low key and very nice.

  30. Linda says:

Watched Iron Man with my husband and ate Chex Party Mix! Happy New Year and thanks for a chance to win!

  31. Lauralee Camilleri says:

Jennifer, we did absolutely nothing on New Year’s. My husband had to work so he was out early (4:30 am) and was too pooped to do anything in the evening. We went to bed early and watched tv in bed! Sigh….you can tell you’re getting old when your high light of the day is bed! Happy New Year to you and your family!

  32. JLBOhio says:

Happy New Year to all!! Like many of you, my hubby and I didn’t have a babysitter so we watched a movie at home. The highlight for our 3-year-old before he went to bed though were these little noisemakers that I got at the grocery store for 50 cents! You shake them back and forth and they make quite a racket! He loved them!!!

  33. Noemi Hoffmann says:

These shoes are so cute! And that butterlfy!! Oh, I love it!
New Years Eve? Hihi… our son was sleeping…we(with my husband) were dressed up cute, my husband made a half-japansese dinner… we drank champaign… and went to bed at 22.00, whle we were sooooo very tired :-)))))
Have a REALLY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
And thank You a lot, for inspiration!!!

  39. Anthonette says:

I agree that girls can never have too many shoes! I think baby shoes totally ramp up the cuteness factor on a little baby.

Our New Years Eve was spent at home with some cousins. I handmade pizzas and salad. I also had hot apple cider. For dessert, we have so many leftover chocolate goodies from Christmas. We played active games with our Nintendo Wii Sports games and Nintendo Wii Fit. I must have talked too much, because I lost my voice by the end of the night. I still can’t talk normal.

Thanks for a chance to win some AC rub-ons.

  40. Lucia M says:

Thanks for the chance to win!
I enjoyed the evening with my fiance and couple of friends in a jazz bar in Bratislava, Slovakia. Before midnight we went to look at the fireworks and later we danced on the main square where a life band was playing.
Love those little shoes a lot:)))

  41. Jessica Lahey says:

Unfortunately, I had a cold…so my husband took me out to dinner and then I settled in at home with a warm cup of Theraflu.

Alas……..I must confess that I had the best of intentions when it came to seeing the New Year in, however I found myself getting very sleepy and I ended up going to bed. DH and DD saw the New Year come in without me.

We had a great New Year’s Eve hanging out with my parents at their house! A couple of our/their friends came over and we had so much fun talking and laughing! They did a lot of wine drinking – but I couldn’t as I’m 5 months pregnant. 🙂 It was a great evening in because we all got to stay together and everyone stayed over at my parent’s house!

  45. Kathryn says:

We had friends over and played Scattegories and Trivial Pursuit! 🙂

  47. NancyN says:

Our NYEve was spent watching ice hockey on tv. ;o) It was a nice, quiet evening – never a bad thing, as I get myself psyched for tax season.

  48. Ava G says:

Husband and I did the wine, movie and driving my 18 yr old son and friends from house party to house party. Smart kids, they do not want to loose their licenses.

  49. Wendy Lust says:

I know how exciting this sounds…I watched Lifetime movies and my husband graded papers. He even went to bed before midnight! Aren’t you jealeous? LOL

  50. patty c says:

We spent the night at the movies with our teenaged daughter – we saw Marley & Me, and we laughed and cried over this mischievous dog who is very much like our own. When we got home we all gave our dog a big hug.
