Happy New Year! We need a giveaway…

Happy New Year, my fellow stampers!  I hope you all have a blessed year.

A few things I wanted to tell ya about.

If you are in the Cincinnati area, you gotta go to Stamp Your Art Out on Saturday between 10-5.  Connie is having a Hero Arts handmade card sale.  When Hero moved, they found TONS of handmade samples that were no longer needed.  Sweet Carol (from Stampers Corner in CA) boxed them up and sent them to me.  MANY went to the Cards for Heroes.  But there were so many that we have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds to sell.  Stamp Your Art Out will have them on sale for 50 cents each.  ALL the money will go to cover the costs of shipping cards to heroes and others who need them.  So it all goes to a good cause!  (And, I am launching and new card drive soon…)  So be sure to stop by.  There are some amazing ones.  I also added tons of my own to the stash to sell.

Also, Connie from Stamp Your Art Out is collecting Peeps to send to heroes overseas.  Fun, huh?  Be sure to drop them off to her soon.  Thanks, Connie, for always doing so much good.  You have one of the most generous hearts I know.

Oh, and Connie has LOTS of the new Hero Arts.  🙂

Next, how about a quick share. This was a baby gift I put together for the gal down the street.  It is the most impractical gift ever.  Ha!  But Colin saw these baby girl shoes at Target and thought Avaley would like them.  I couldn't argue!  So I made a box for them, along with a note that said "a girl can never have too many shoes."  I tied it with some soft ribbon and added a K&Co die cut butterfly with Hero Arts gems.  I put the same on an embossed card and it was ready to go!

And, in celebration of a new year, how about a giveaway?  Just leave a comment here by Saturday night at 11:59pmEDT telling me what you did for New Years Eve.  If I randomly pick you, you will be the lucky winner of these fun American Crafts rub-ons (my FAVE brand and a generous company)…

Have a great night.  See you tomorrow!

Hi Jennifer, Happy New Year to you and yours! Since we have a baby that likes to stay up until 10 or 11 we played with her until she went to bed, then almost fell asleep watching TV and woke up just in time to grab some bubbly juice and toast to the New Year. Maybe my New Years next year will be more exciting!

    Thanks for another generous giveaway!

That gift is soooooo cute. For new year’s eve we had another family over – the kids played and we chatted and ate snacks. We toasted with sparkling cider after the NY count-down (11 pm our time). It was a lot of fun.

  3. Emily P. says:

We went to our friend’s house and spent most of the night playing Apples to Apples. It was so fun – lots of laughter!

  4. We had a very family oriented New Year’s Eve party at our house. While the kids played, us adults played RockBand. Lots of fun!

  5. Hi Jennifer,
    Happy 2009.
It’s my birthday on December 31st. My sister and brother came to our house for my birthday and to celebrate New Year’s Eve. My brother brought the champagne and my sister some typically Dutch New Year’s Eve pastries. We watched some TV, and fired up a whole lot of fireworks at 12 o’clock.

We vegged on the couch watching new DVDs we got for Christmas and went to bed somewhere around midnight without even paying attention. I think we are officially OLD.

Love the ‘a girl can never have too many shoes’! I will definitely have to use that as a gift sometime. 🙂
Glad you have another card drive in the works too. I need to go through my card drawer…

My boyfriend and I have a tradition on NYE. We get to choose whatever takeout we want (can be from multiple restaurants so for me, it was a local place and Olive Garden), cuddle up on the couch and watch a movie and catch the ball dropping at midnight. We’re both homebodies so this works well for us 🙂

our New Years was special. My best friend of 10 years was married and I was able to share the entire day with her. She was married in the AM with a nice reception and then a gathering that evening.

I was able to ring in the new Year with her (something we haven’t done since my kids were born)…the last new year’s we spent together, we were both single and spent the time in Las Vegas….

    Wow what a change….

  18. Suz says:

We were to have good friends over to bring in the new year but one came down with the flu bug and another threw out her back! So, we enjoyed a quieter evening at home with the boys playing a game of Rumis and watching the ball drop in Times Square.

    Happy New Year Jennifer!
My family and I stayed in for the New Year. I made swedish meatballs and noodles for dinner then we all just relaxed, me with a book I got for Christmas, DD with her guitar hero and DH with some nap time and then some reading as well. We all watched the ball drop at midnight and then I called my sister in California as she was spending the evening alone.
I hope you have a fantastic, full year of love and hope.

My hubby worked on New Year’s Eve and came home from work at 11:30 p.m.! So we just spent the evening at home by ourselves with our 3 yr. old son (baby was in bed already!). I made some mozzarella sticks, pizza rolls, tater-tots & lil’ smokies and we had ourselves a little party! 😉 We were all pretty tired, so we went to bed at 1:00! LOL!

Unfortunately we spent part of the evening in the ER as my husband had a heart issue. Then we went out to dinner, watched television for some time and went to bed early. Not an exciting evening but we were happy for 2008 to end as it was a difficult year for us. Here’s to a Happy New Year to everyone. Those shoes was an adorable idea!

I called a friend of mine who I thought might be having a hard time on New Year’s Eve. Her friend of 25 years died in October from bone cancer. I knew her too. But they had been roommates since college. I called to tell her that I wished her more joy in 2009.

  39. Kirsten says:

*Ahem* I…uh…backed into a car. Seriously. Took my 9 yo daughter over to pick up her friend for our annual outing to get hot chocolate (really, truly, Starbucks Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate for me…and the girls had kids’ cocoas) and then we drove around and critiqued the Christmas lights…this was our third year and the girls love it…and as I was backing out of Leah’s driveway…crunch. So I think it was a fine ending to a crummy year and 2009 will only be better! Made better yet, if I win 🙂

  40. Ruth Ann says:

I was asleep. Boring!!! I did watch Dick Clark ring in the New Year in NYC, but it was only 11:00 my time.
