Happy New Year! We need a giveaway…

Happy New Year, my fellow stampers!  I hope you all have a blessed year.

A few things I wanted to tell ya about.

If you are in the Cincinnati area, you gotta go to Stamp Your Art Out on Saturday between 10-5.  Connie is having a Hero Arts handmade card sale.  When Hero moved, they found TONS of handmade samples that were no longer needed.  Sweet Carol (from Stampers Corner in CA) boxed them up and sent them to me.  MANY went to the Cards for Heroes.  But there were so many that we have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds to sell.  Stamp Your Art Out will have them on sale for 50 cents each.  ALL the money will go to cover the costs of shipping cards to heroes and others who need them.  So it all goes to a good cause!  (And, I am launching and new card drive soon…)  So be sure to stop by.  There are some amazing ones.  I also added tons of my own to the stash to sell.

Also, Connie from Stamp Your Art Out is collecting Peeps to send to heroes overseas.  Fun, huh?  Be sure to drop them off to her soon.  Thanks, Connie, for always doing so much good.  You have one of the most generous hearts I know.

Oh, and Connie has LOTS of the new Hero Arts.  🙂

Next, how about a quick share. This was a baby gift I put together for the gal down the street.  It is the most impractical gift ever.  Ha!  But Colin saw these baby girl shoes at Target and thought Avaley would like them.  I couldn't argue!  So I made a box for them, along with a note that said "a girl can never have too many shoes."  I tied it with some soft ribbon and added a K&Co die cut butterfly with Hero Arts gems.  I put the same on an embossed card and it was ready to go!

And, in celebration of a new year, how about a giveaway?  Just leave a comment here by Saturday night at 11:59pmEDT telling me what you did for New Years Eve.  If I randomly pick you, you will be the lucky winner of these fun American Crafts rub-ons (my FAVE brand and a generous company)…

Have a great night.  See you tomorrow!

  6. DARLING shoes and packaging! I was able to spend the entire day with my friend and we hit almost every shop in town getting sale after sale and loaded up her ENTIRE car with goodies that we missed out on before the holidays because of getting snowed in! (I know, what a shame, huh?) Happy New Year!

We had a super fun casual new years eve with neighbors. Started the day at a kids’ Noon Years Eve party (They drop a bunch of balloons and have sparkling cider at noon). Then came home to cook and rest and spent the evening playing American Idol Karaoke on Wii. OMG is that fun!!! Mojitos and champagne cocktails didn’t hurt either. 🙂

Hope you had a fun night! Thanks for all the great giveaways and shares.

We had an AWESOME evening of watching TV (rare for us to do together), playing a little Wii, and then we both fall asleep while reading. It was divine! No hangover, great morning, and a New Year’s Day filled with friends and kids running around like crazy. Loved it.

Happy New Year – for the first time in years (probably since having kiddies) we actually celebrated the event. We spent the night with good friends who have boys the same age. They played, we caught up (and organised a scrap date for the mums and play date for the boys), had a lovely BBQ and saw the new year in with neon sticks, sparklers and party blowers/hooters!

Hubby, DD, and I watched Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Years Eve. Had our summer susage, cheese & crackers, and ginger ale. Before hand, DD was watching Disney channel (she’s 8–we let her stay up) and I was surfing blogs & SCS.

  16. Lori Y. says:

We didn’t do all that much. Stayed home and played games. I even had a couple of glasses of wine which is rare and that just made me giggly. I don’t miss the years of going out for New Years Eve…I’d rather have a quiet evening at home with my family or have a party here or at friends’.

  41. Kim S. says:

I am probably the saddest person in the world. I was exhausted from the past week’s festivities so I laid down for a nap around 8:30. DH was supposed to wake me up after an hour or two and he got into his computer game and forgot. Not even a midnight kiss for me! I am still bummed. lol

  42. Judy S says:

Nothing too exciting as I had to work on New Years Day. So no late night for me! Stayed home and watched a movie, “Hancock.”

  43. Julie says:

Happy New Year! We stayed home, had crab & steak for dinner, and ice cream cake for dessert – yum!

  44. Cynthia says:

Plan was to stay home, relax, and have crab legs. My boss, however, landed in the hospital so we brought her a nice dinner and sparkling cider and eventually ended up home with our crab legs. Luckily, she’s better and is being released tomorrow. Lesson to us all– get a bone density scan periodically once you are of the age to do so. You can get little fractures if you need treatment and don’t know it.

  45. Jen D. says:

Growing up my family always celebrated New Year’s Eve with appetizers, board games and family movies. My kids are a little young for the board games and movies, but we did do a spin on the appetizer dinner. We had cheese fondue as our main dish and then chocolate fondue for dessert. The kids loved it. Of course the cheese and chocolate were not really hot temperature wise so the kids could enjoy them. Being pregnant with my third baby in three years I am not one to stay up late these days. I ended up going to bed early and sleeping through the new year. 🙂

  46. Jenn N says:

What a sweet baby gift you gave your friend and thanks for the chance at the give away.
For our New Years, our littlest was down by 7pm so that left my husband, our other two children and myself to play a few games, light the fire, and watch the countdown on TV as my 7 year old was determined to stay up until midnight. Really, it had nothing to do with the Jonas Brothers being on TV at all….

  47. Peg Graham says:

We had pizza and root beer floats, watched NCIS and right before midnight we had a glass of sparkling cider and yelled “Happy New Year!”

  48. Jodi says:

I celebrated my birthday with my girls, my husband and my new Slice (what a great bday gift!).

  49. Colby says:

No big plans here…just a night on the couch cuddled up with my hubby watching the countdown on TV (and vedging out after an afternoon of putting away the Christmas decorations)! Happy New Year!

  50. Lizzette Merrfield says:

Happy New Year Jennifer! Hubby and I spent a quiet evening at home watching TV and watching season 2 episodes of Smallville.
