Happy New Year! We need a giveaway…

Happy New Year, my fellow stampers!  I hope you all have a blessed year.

A few things I wanted to tell ya about.

If you are in the Cincinnati area, you gotta go to Stamp Your Art Out on Saturday between 10-5.  Connie is having a Hero Arts handmade card sale.  When Hero moved, they found TONS of handmade samples that were no longer needed.  Sweet Carol (from Stampers Corner in CA) boxed them up and sent them to me.  MANY went to the Cards for Heroes.  But there were so many that we have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds to sell.  Stamp Your Art Out will have them on sale for 50 cents each.  ALL the money will go to cover the costs of shipping cards to heroes and others who need them.  So it all goes to a good cause!  (And, I am launching and new card drive soon…)  So be sure to stop by.  There are some amazing ones.  I also added tons of my own to the stash to sell.

Also, Connie from Stamp Your Art Out is collecting Peeps to send to heroes overseas.  Fun, huh?  Be sure to drop them off to her soon.  Thanks, Connie, for always doing so much good.  You have one of the most generous hearts I know.

Oh, and Connie has LOTS of the new Hero Arts.  🙂

Next, how about a quick share. This was a baby gift I put together for the gal down the street.  It is the most impractical gift ever.  Ha!  But Colin saw these baby girl shoes at Target and thought Avaley would like them.  I couldn't argue!  So I made a box for them, along with a note that said "a girl can never have too many shoes."  I tied it with some soft ribbon and added a K&Co die cut butterfly with Hero Arts gems.  I put the same on an embossed card and it was ready to go!

And, in celebration of a new year, how about a giveaway?  Just leave a comment here by Saturday night at 11:59pmEDT telling me what you did for New Years Eve.  If I randomly pick you, you will be the lucky winner of these fun American Crafts rub-ons (my FAVE brand and a generous company)…

Have a great night.  See you tomorrow!

We went to my in laws, with the entire family. We all brought snacks and food for the evening. We ate, played family games, the kids played together, and we counted down the new year. We spent the night at the in laws’ house and had new year’s breakfast together, as well! It was a wonderful family evening. We started this tradition last year and it’s been a great one that we all enjoy! 🙂 Happy New Year! And thanks for the chance!

I am such a party animal – I didn’t even make it to midnight. LOL. My hubby and I watched a movie and that was it! We both fell asleep before the new year although I did wake up at 12:15 because of fireworks going off in my neighborhood. LOL! See – total party animal! 🙂

I hope you and your family have a blessed New Year, Jennifer! Hugs!

  19. Carol says:

I intended to get to bed early….i had an early morning and a 12 hour work day on the first. But then, while we were watching the last Christmas movie for the year, i started working on birthday cards for my January birthdays….and i stamped my way into the New Year.

  20. Judy says:

Happy New Year, Jennifer!! I spent the evening
with an old friend– it was very nice.

  21. Rita says:

I spent New Year’s Eve at my neighbor’s house. We ate, drank, and were very Merry!!We have done this the last couple of years, and love to just walk home after the party. The kids had fun making home movies and playing them back on the TV. I’m hoping that 2009 is a much less stressful year than 2008.

  22. I stayed up and made a card for one of the SCS new years eve party challenges. Then I uploaded the card and at the last minute we tuned into NYC ball drop in times square. I even allowed my (almost) 8 year old to stay up and watch. No booze, no party.

  23. I was at home while my hubby was sleeping I was on facebook. Very disappointing! HA!

  24. Girl, impractical gifts are ALWAYS the best ones, aren’t they??? lol I LOVE that gift!!! I’m sure it was a hit!!
Not to mention the valuable lesson you taught your son: the way to a woman’s heart is buying her shoes—and LOTS of ’em!! lol
We stayed home and did absolutely nothing special, but we were all together and safe!

  25. Ilona says:

Had my good friends with their 2 kids up from Akron, ate a great dinner of steak & cheese fondue. Played the Wii and then watched a bit of Dick Clark. At midnight after we kissed each other we ate 12 grapes, which is supposed to bring prosperity (one grape for each month of the year-think it is a spanish tradition) and drank sparkling grape juice with all the kids. So fun!

  26. Mara says:

My sweet DH and I watched The Office, season 3. We’ve been trying to catch up and we got through quite a few episodes while the kiddies were snoozing upstairs!! Thanks for the giveaway!!

  32. Amy says:

i like staying up til midnight to watch the fireworks on Pikes Peak! And the coolest thing (besides the hiking club that does the fireworks) is that they have a “practice run” at 10 PM, so you have an early option.
Thanks for being so generous with the giveaways.

  33. Tracey McNeely says:

New years Eve was spent at Jay and Charlene’s. Every year the neighbours get together for New Years, everyone takes a turn. The kids are all welcome. Everyone can walk home. Good Times! I am getting too old for these late nights. LOL

We had dinner with friends and then came back home and the kiddos got to light some sparklers 🙂 Fun all the way around, thanks for the fun giveaway chance…

  35. Those are the cutest shoes!!!

For NYE, we went over to DH’s high school friends house and set our Christmas trees on fire…after the boys adorned them with leftover fireworks from the 4th of July. Sigh, men will be boys! 😀

  36. Tracy says:

We went to a friend’s house, ate a ton of food, and brought in 2009 with Dick Clark! Nothing better than that! 🙂

  37. Martina McKenzie says:

My family and I spent the night with close friends and their two boys. The second year in a row we have spent New Years with them. The kids all hang out together and that gives the four adults time for fun! We made dinner together and tried out a chocolate fondue for dessert. We played all kinds of games. The guests stayed the night to be safe. Boys had a big slumber party. It was a lot o fun!!! Martina

    Have another awesome year!

I’m afraid to say we did nothing exciting, took down the tree and my village (which is huge) and did things around the house!

  43. Jessica says:

    Those little shoes are adorable!

We stayed at home, and had our good friends (and their kids) stay over. We watched a movie, and almost missed the countdown to midnight!

  44. Colleen says:

Happy New Year to you and yours!

We had a movie night with the kids and watched Shrek 2 and had a nice dinner and some snacks. We did the 9pm east coast celebration with the kids and then they packed it in and I scrapped and DH played video games until we could celebrate at midnight! Bed by 12:15! hee hee

  45. Angela M says:

We had an awesome family night out bowling! My husband won the raffle for the $100 gas gift card, too. That was awesome, who wouldn’t want that?!

  49. Aimee says:

I have a nasty sinus infection so what did I do? Fell asleep in the chair while watchins cary movies with the kids and hubby. Darlinh hubby woke me up in time to see David Cook perform and watch the ball drop, so at least I had a little fun! LOL Love Daid Cook.

  50. Pamela C. says:

Most of the night we spent at my daughter’s home celebrating our Christmas. My grandson was in the hospital over Christmas. My son-in-law’s family celebrated that day and we thought it might be too much of an overload to also celebrate that day. So we postponed our Christmas. Also, last year, my son was in the hospital over Christmas. We just didn’t want to start a family tradition of celebrating Christmas in the hospital.

We did come home before midnight and watched the ball drop on tv.

    It was a fun evening.

Thanks for a chance to win and have a great New Year.
