New Class, Video and a Week of Giveaways?!?

Why not?  I am feeling good this week for many reasons.  One, election day is tomorrow.  And that means no more phone calls (22 today), door-to-door visits (5 today), mailings (I didn’t even count today) for this girl who isn’t loving living in Ohio right now. 🙂  Two, I have lots of good stuff to giveaway, thanks to the generosity of others.  Three, I just am feeling happy. 🙂

So, let’s start with some shares and do a giveaway each day, what do you say?  Why not.

First, I am excited to tell you that I am hosting the Stamp Camp this week at 2Peas.  Click HERE for the details on my projects and HERE for how you can play along to win prizes!  My week is about masking.  The video shows a few types of masking.

This layout is like one I did in the past.  I just love tall and narrow photos from over the years.  It shows regular masking with the trees and ink masking with the grass.

This one shows reverse masking.  Can you tell I like those Thicker letters?  Yum.

Please stop by and say hi over there on 2peas.  I don’t wanna be a loser. 🙂

Guess what I did today?  I sent off the last of the cards that you angels sent for Card Drive for Kids.  They went over in three boxes spaced out over time.  I promise to show pictures of the kids when they get a chance.  They are moving into their house as we speak over there in Liberia.  Praying for them.

Speaking of prayers, I know someone who could use some.  There is this amazing little boy named Keegan who is in Ken’s side of the family.  The moment he was born, the hard battle for his life began.  He has had so many ups and downs, but has proven to be a strong little fighter.  He could use some serious prayers these days.  If you are the praying kind, please say one for Keegan and his parents.  Thank you. (For more information on Keegan, click HERE.  For updates, click HERE.  For some precious photos of the little fighter, click HERE.)  Isn’t he the cutest?  I love how he is smiling here despite all that is happening.  Cute dude.

And to Keegan’s parents – I pray for you every night.  And I can’t wait for Colin to meet your little one someday.  Then he will know who that Keegan is that he prays for every day.

OK…

How about that giveaway?  Sweet April over at Studio Calico offered another kit for me to pass on to one of you lucky winners!  (Maybe I should put my name in the hat – it is a good one!  I must go buy it.)  So, you have until Tuesday at 11:59pmEDT to leave a comment on this post just telling me your favorite recipe for cold days.  (You don’t have to give the recipe, just tell me about it.  I may email you asking for it, though, so I can share it with others!  We are making a huge effort to eat every meal in.)  I will post a winner on Wednesday of this GREAT Fountain Square Studio Calico kit!

Also, you still have until late tonight to leave a comment on THIS POST for a chance to win the Jamie Scraps kit.

And, der, I forgot to pick a winner of the Maya Road stamp set from HERE.  Sorry!  The winner is Michelle.  I will email ya.

One more thing: Don’t forget that if you vote tomorrow here in the States, you can get a free Starbucks!  Helps make standing in line for hours worth it, huh?

OK… off to load some cards onto my computer and watch Dancing With the Stars.  I love that Lance is dancing barefoot.  That is my kind of dancing.  Awesome.  Oh wait – that was the phone.  Barack calling.  Argh.  Make that 23 calls.  Night! 🙂

  9. Argh…. cold weather comfort food. I can’t go past our Easy Braised Steak – it cooks all day long and makes the home smell devine – serve it with mashed potato to mop up all the yummy gravy, steamed veges and the steak just melts in your mouth. All you need is a slow cooker, about 1kg oyster blade steak, 1 packet of french onion soup mix and 1/2 cup (or so!)of red wine – walla – a real family favourite – hope you try it and enjoy it as much as we do down here in Oz!! Thanks!

Prayers for Keegan too! Lots of ’em!
