  1. I love these one layer cards they are very eloquent and with such lovely colors. And I am definitely going to use the trick with copy paper. Thank you

  2. If I hadn’t just seen you make those cards with just stencils I would have had a hard time believing it! They look amazing! I actually think I prefer the stencilled cards to the stamped. I haven’t really used stencils much but this is very encouraging especially since they tend to be less expensive.
As for not making videos, your mental health is so important and if not making videos for a week or two is what you need then take that time. I’m sure all of us would rather wait a little longer for a new video than to have you burn out and never see one again! I don’t know how you come up with all the videos and I appreciate each and every one so waiting any extra amount is worth it! These are crazy times and we need to do what is best for ourselves and our families, even if it means disappointing others. Take care and stay safe!

  3. You always make it looks so easy! Brilliant tips and techniques about one layer cards and the use of layering stencils!! Totally amazing the little tricks that you used…Never ever apologize when you need a break, Jennifer. I learned a long time ago that if we don’t take care of “me” then we won’t be able to take care of those that mean so much to us!! We are all living in a frightening time and we NEED to do what is best for ourselves and those we love. I would rather you take any time that you need than to lose you to “burn out” and not hear from you at all…YOU are BLESSING!!

PS The little tip about cutting the stencils apart is so intriguing and why not? I say more user friendly and they are our stencils…is the stencil police going to pay a visit to our houses? Awesome idea!!

  4. I have not used layering stencils but will definitely give your techniques a try. I can see the advantage of cutting these kind of stencils apart. It makes them easier to use and store. Your videos are always so inspiring. I think all your followers understand when you need some down time to relax and refresh. Self care is so important especially in these crazy times.

  5. I did gasp when you cut the stencils, but I learned a few years ago to think about my supplies as “tools, not jewels”—that attitude has really helped me to use things in whatever way works best. Stencil cropping might be next!

  6. These one layers cards were outstanding. Even with one layer, the cutouts, etc. were making these extra special. I like the idea of cutting apart the stencil sheet as seems it would be much easier to line up the layers than dealing with a big sheet.

  7. Jennifer, your idea to cut the stencils is great! I am inspired always by ALL of your ideas and tips. Thank you and God bless!

  8. I will cut my stencils, now! Great idea. AND I can store them in the same plastic folder as my stamp and die!! Win, win. Thanks.

  9. Awesome idea of cutting the stencils. It is a little scary but as with cutting stamps it sometimes is easier. Thanks for the idea, will give it a try.

  10. Again an inspiring video full of great tips with as result awesome cards.
Thank you so much for sharing Jennifer, please take good care of yourself, stay safe and have a wonderful week.

  11. Love your ideas for a one layer card and the stencils. Also love the colors you used. Can’t wait to try them out.
Thanks for all your videos. You explain all your ideas so that they are easy to understand. You do a super job!

  12. Thank you so much, dear Jennifer, for another wonderful video. It is great to see these new colors in use. I would be so curious to see those new blues (polar bear etc) compared to the last four blues (the set was called tranquility).
To answer your question: It does not bother me at all when you cut your stamps or stencils apart. So far I have never had a need to cut a stencil — although would not hesitate do it once that needs arises. On the other hand, I have been cutting my stamps (clear and rubber) for many, many years. It is so easy to cut them apart without damaging them and with an acrylic bloc or a misty you can arrange them any way you want, including the way they were initially put together. It is just one way to use them more often, I find. And btw I am stunned to hear that there are crafters who are bothered by this practice.
Thanks again for sharing all your ideas and talents, I do appreciate it. Listening to your beautiful voice while you create gorgeous cards, is such a wonderful little escape of the demands of everyday life — especially now.
    Stay safe and healthy,
    Caroline

  13. Cutting the layering stencils makes them easier to use. I bet in the future they’ll make them perforated so you can separate the pieces before use. Since you asked…. I’m not really a fan of layered stamps or stencils since I like the unique effects of painting/coloring images. I know they’re a huge timesaver for people who produce lots of cards. The technique with the die cut layer and embossed design on the lower portion of the card is my favorite. I’m going to try this out with one of my few stamp sets that has matching dies. The die w/ the pinprick design, for some reason, looks like the design on my paper towels 😉

  14. Your cards are beautiful, as usual. I soooo appreciate the tips and tricks and your demonstrations. You make the rest of us feel that we can accomplish these techniques. Thank you!

  15. Oh, I was so encouraged by these. They are so pretty and somewhat simpler than the many layers I usually make. Then I moved just a little in the wrong direction and my body screamed! It doesn’t want me to craft, but I still want to give it a go! Thanks!

  16. Fantastic cards, as usual. I think it’s a good idea to cut the stencil apart. I would only worry, that I could lose the smaller parts. When I’m working on something, I’m constantly looking for things (even if they are right in front of me LOL). So I think it’s everyone’s personal preference, what works and what doesn’t.
