Video: Heatwave Tool + Tone-On-Tone Watercolor + GIVEAWAY

Hello and welcome! I’ve received many emails asking about the We R Memory Keepers Heatwave Tool. Today’s video gives you a closer look at this tool… along with some tone-on-tone watercolor.

There are many options to add foiling to your project. (I have shared many of these before – check HERE.) The Heatwave Tool is unique because it allows you to add foiling to any spot on your card, even tiny areas. If you are a foiling addict, you may like this tool. It is fun! It is especially good for those of you with good handwriting or drawing skills.

However, I don’t have that talent so I cheat and use a stencil. 🙂 I lay the foil on top of my card, place my stencil on top and trace inside the image using the Heatwave Tool. The heat transfers the foil to the paper. (By the way, you must use the Heatwave foils with this tool – the other foils I have used here in the past will not work. Bummer, huh?) I did this for the sentiment on this card using the Script stencil from We R Memory Keepers. You could use any stencil you have – – a background stencil would be beautiful!

I also wanted to try out a bit of tone-on-tone watercoloring. I stamped a few flower images from a stamp set from The Ton Stamps using WPlus9, Simon Says Stamp, and Hero Arts ink. I chose these inks because once they dry, they won’t bleed when watercoloring. After masking off the flowers and stamping some leaves, I added a small amount of watercolor with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. (For more videos using these great markers, check HERE.)

I also share other ways to use the Heatwave Tool. One way is to use the negative portion of any die-cut, creating a stencil, and trace inside the image. I have a lot of large word dies that would be perfect for this. You can also stamp an image with a light dye ink on the foil and trace over it with the Heatwave Tool. The possibilities are endless. This tool is a fun one if you like foiling!
