Hi! I just wanted to pop in and share a video I did for Scrapbook & Cards Today. It shows three ways to add sparkle and shine to your cards.

I am always looking for fun ways to add sparkle and shine to my cards. This video shares three of my favorites: glitter (in a non-messy way), foil and heat embossing.     I’m not very good with sparkle and shine, even though I LOVE it! Right now, I rely on Wink of Stella, Twinkling H2Os and embossing. Thank you again for the marvelous give away…I’d so enjoy the magazine’s inspirations!

    Lately I have just been using distress glitter to add a little sparkle to my flowers. I need to try some of the foil techniques to add some shine too. Thanks for sharing.

    I really like using foil to add the shimmer to cards after seeing one of your videos. But I have to say my Wink of Stella pen is always handy. That is my go-to for adding shimmer.

    Thank you for sharing these tips there are several that I’d not heard of and will be trying. I have added your tips to one of my Pinterest boards so that I don’t forget too. It’s funny I have been creating cards for about fifteen years and stamping a little longer – yet there are always new things to learn and discover and I really do appreciate you sharing with us the tips and the clean up cloths that help with the glitter – I need a lot of those!     My favourite way to add sparkle is glossy accents, perfect pearls or silver/gold embossing. I’ve given up working with glitter as it gets everywhere and doesn’t stick. I follow your tip of using holographic embossing powder on cardstock to give the impression of glitter.

    Depending on the type of sparkle or shine I am wanting, embossing is very easy to do and also using pearl, sequins and gem stickers are also quick and easy to add a little shine to a project.

    I love the look of foil, but do not have a machine yet to do this, so the next best thing is embossing

    Awesome ways to add glitter and shine, love the cards too! I like to use glitter glue or Wjnk of Stella…but I want to try heat embossing. Love the look!

    Three great ideas. I especially like the “sunburst” glitter, so much fun! I like to add bling. Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend but rhinestones are a crafter’s buddy…lol.

    Lovely, Jennifer! I use heat embossing to add shine. Can’t wait to try this easy method of adding shine using gold foil. What a perfect way to add texture to the butterfly using silver thread for the body and antenna! I always learn so much from your videos. Many thanks! ♡

    I love Elizabeth Craft Microfine Glitter and adhesive tape as my first go to technique; but since discovering Wink of Stella, that is my second go to for smaller areas. Third is glossy accents and Tim Holtz Distress Glitter.

    My favourite way to add sparkle to images is with my clear Wink of Stella brush marker, closely followed by shimmer spray. These are my “go to” products to add those touches of sparkle to my projects.

    My favorite way to add sparkle and shine is to use a Sakura Quickie glue pen to outline and highlight areas– then sprinkle on very fine glitter.

    My favorite way to add sparkle is with embossing powder, I haven’t tried any foiling yet, but I may have to try the glitter now that I know the way to keep it from being so messy. Thanks for sharing your great tips.

    oh I love anything that bring glitter, sparkle and shine to my cards!! Maybe it is because I have all boys so when I craft, I can be girlie!! My current obsession is my Wink of Stella clear pen with Glossy Accents on top!

    Love your cards, Jennifer. I still use my stickles to add shine to my cards and most of the time I use embossing powder, but I haven’t tried adding the deco foil. Thanks for the chance!

    Wink of Stella is my “go to” for some subtle sparkle on my cards. But, I also love heat embossing with silver, gold, or sparkle embossing powders. I also love a well-placed sequin or two!
