Hi! I just wanted to pop in and share a video I did for Scrapbook & Cards Today. It shows three ways to add sparkle and shine to your cards.

I am always looking for fun ways to add sparkle and shine to my cards. This video shares three of my favorites: glitter (in a non-messy way), foil and heat embossing.     I really like the DCWV glitzy glitter cardstock. Super shiny yet super smooth. If I just want a tiny bit of glimmer I use my wink of stella pen.

    I add sparkle by die cutting small hearts from glitter paper and adding them to my designs.

    I love using either the Wink of Stella pen or a Gelly Roll clear star pen for adding some subtle shine to my cards.

    Another great video–thank you! I love sparkle, but I hate the mess of glitter, so I’ve been enjoying using Wink of Stella. I also love using Stampin’ Up’s iridescent ice sparkly embossing powder (especially pretty on Christmas cards.) Thanks for the giveaway!

    I welcome any chance to learn more about Papercrafting. The look of shine is important but my family doesn’t permit me to use glitter, as it lives on and on and on.

    I like to add sparkle & shine a couple of ways: using glitter cardstock, foil cardstock, Wink of Stella pens, embossing powder that shines (mixed some red/white/blue for my Patriotic cards) and glitter.

    I add sparkle and shine by die-cutting glitter paper and metallic paper! Love using the gold metallic!!!

    I heat emboss a lot. Found out how to add glitter without it all falling off so I’ll be using glitter more. thanks.

    I finally got a Wink of Stella pen (probably the last person on earth to get one) so now everything has to have a little dab of sparkle. I’m loving this pen!

    OMG Jennifer WOW How awesome is your video….I’m totally impressed with your 3 ideas for getting sparkle and shine that was so much fun watching you in creative action and all the while I was so in awe with each of your clever ideas gosh I have all the goodies to do this…just never thought of doing it this way…and I love it and I also love that these all will so work for scrapbooking as that’s my passion.
    MY favorite way to get sparkle and shine is either with running my image thru my Xyron and either using Deco foil or glitter.

    I probably use my Wink of Stella pen the most because it’s so quick and easy, but I’m absolutely in love with Judikens Iridescent Sparkle embossing powder. Beautiful cards! I love what you did with those butterflies!

    I find myself reaching for my Wink of Stella Clear pen to add sparkle all the time. Have not tried foiling yet but you make it look so easy. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Jennifer, My favorite way to add glitter and shine, depends on my project and who will receive it. My go to right now is Gelly roll and wink of Stella. I just order and received some gold foil (you enabled me on this one) to play with and todays video really added some inspiration. I had not thought of using double sided tape in my die cutting. Yay! Another way to play. Thanks bunches for all of your videos and inspiration.

    I do have a question, if you could e-mail me the answer. You used an embossing folder on your last card on the Neenah Desert card, but did not list it in the supplies. Can you tell me whose folder this is please? Hugs Lori

    Another great video! I don’t use glitter often because many of my cards were going to soldiers and I just ordered a laminator so I can try foiling but I think I will give this tape technique a try in the meantime. I also just bought some Scotch Expressions Metallic Tape at my local Target store to try. It has some fun holographic designs that I thought would add a fun bit of shine to cards. There are also some plain metallic as well. I’m definitely going try the techniques you demonstrated today as well. Thanks for the inspiration!

    Loved your video and the techniques. I have some foil and will have to try your stripes with double backed adhesive. I also love the butterflies “off the edge”. Beautiful. The Swiffer idea is really great. Thanks.

    Wink of Stella makes it so easy to add sparkle. I am embossing more and more. Glossy accents is great for shine too.

    My favorite way to add sparkle and shine is Wink of Stella Pens. They’re so easy to use, come in a range of colors, and include a clear one to add glitter over your colored areas. So fun!

    Beautiful cards! Depending on the type of card I’m making my favorite way to make a sparkly or shiny card is some Wink of Stella or Stickles and foiling. I love the look of foiling.
